Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't Thief: The Dark Project have similar audio features in that game's engine...in 1998?

I also wonder how long it takes to precess one of those big screenshots, and if it takes 1Gb just to store one.

Cool tech no one is going to use beside officially releasing bullshots as the standard.

OK Ansel was cool but the audio stuff is really boring to just hear him talk about. I can see it being cool when you're experiencing it, just doesn't translate to a presentation very well.

Yeah, unless this is your job, I don't see why you would care about this.
I've taken about 5000 screenshots. People, including myself, but also many others, have spent dozens of hours hacking games to enable some of the screenshot-related features Nvidia has demonstrated.

That's like saying no one who isn't a professional photographer should care about cameras.

(The only bad thing is that it's game-specific. I hope there's some profile overrides like for similar features)

I'd be more impressed with a driver that automatically makes VR display on a monitor without this double circle vision.

Not even sure if that's possible, but hey.

I really don't get why they show VR demos in the actual VR mode. Looking at two distorted images side by side is just horrible.

Just run that shit in normal fullscreen mode if you want to show it to other people.

Oh yeah back to the glory days of Pc hardware accelerated sound!

I'm in!!

This is the basis of Dolby Atmos, if they truly can give us object-based positional audio it will be amazing. Of course Atmos is all pre-recorded content, mainly movies. Rendering and ray-tracing and occluding sound like this requires a great deal of processing power. Aureal A3D was a very simplified simulation back in the 1990's but even then it was amazing and there wasn't anything like it at the time.

So when will this shit be available on my Oculus Rift? I'm sitting with my Rift on the chair to my left, Jen-Hsun! Gimme the goods!

Do note that the specific person you quoted works for the competition.
(Who now have another driver feature that enthusiasts will appreciate to catch up to)

He's one of the most honest and straight forward guys in the industry. Or so people tell me. Anyway, curious to see what other devs think of this.
