Nvidia Turing Possible Leak?

Came across this in my youtube feed.

At least we'll know if it's true in just a few days...



New cards:

Titan RTX
Geforce RTX 2080
Geforce RTX 2070
Geforce GTX 2060
Geforce GTX 2050

Emphasis on ray tracing in higher end cards.

$3,000 for a 50% leap over a $600 card is a fucking joke. I really hope that's inaccurate.

If the normal cards are only like 10% faster than the 1080ti, this generation is a hard pass for me.

I think the Titan caters to extreme users anyway and is less intended for gaming than workstation/science and I don't think "Bang for bucks" matters that much there, it's rather "How much computing power can I cram into as less space as possible"

But I'd be kinda dissapointed in a not even 10% faster 1180. Still run my good ol' 970 which is still rocking nearly everything. Hoped for something around 15-20% increase against a ti. Else, It would be cheaper to wait for 1180 release and then get a much cheaper 1080ti instead. Even if it comes with RayTracing, I don't think ANY game soon'ish will use it noticable, at least not before next GPU/Console Gen and even then only if Consoles come with some Hardware for it as well.

dont expect 1080Tis to get too much cheaper. expect the 11 series to start out more expensive.

I think they will drop in price. Up until now they always dropped when a new series released, I don't see why they won't this time. Also the fact that apparently they still sit on such huge amounts of cards will make them want to get rid of the old ones to make room for new ones. I may be wrong but I am pretty sure they will drop 15%+ once new cards hit the shelves..

They actually haven't significantly dropped the price as they usually wait until the previous series stock is depleted to drop a new one. Given the "rumor" that the new 11 series will release while 10 series stocks are still pretty high, I can't see there being too much choice.

I still think it is far more likely nvidia will release the 11 series at a high price with limited supply (sound familiar?) in the hope that gamers who can't get an 11 series will get a 10 series.

The thing is who is going to be buying the current gen GPUs at current prices? I think the market is pretty saturated to move large volumes of unsold inventory.

They'll need to drop prices on Pascal to move stock, there's no way around it.
 
that's a good way to sell gpus. no matter how much people complain about it, there will imo be a large demand to get the highest frame rates with the best quality. that spells cha-ching money $$$
 
The emphasis on RTX is interesting. I had suggested the next gen consoles would have ray tracing acceleration in-hardware, we're not ready for fully ray traced games yet but there's still a lot it can do to enhance traditionally raster based games.
