NWR: Pokemon X and Y Demo impressions

Like every other 3DS title we'll keep the 3D on for 10 minutes and never turn it on again after that. Not sure why this is a deal-breaker for people.

My 3d is on 100% of the time unless it's one of the games that messed it up, tales of the abyss for instance. Having 3d off makes most games look like washed out pixelated shit.

No 3D in the overworld and frame rate troubles in battle? I sincerely hope they fix those problems before release, as those are the exact types of novice mistakes Nintendo is known for not making.

Granted, FE:A had frame rate drops during battle animations, but it never stuttered and thus never really detracted too much. But non-3D overworlds is just inexcusable.

It doesn't really bother me if its in 3D or not. Some games I do play in 3D because it looks good, some I just keep off.
I just don't want any frame rate problems, that I do not want in my games.

Congratulations for being one of the few that keeps it off.

I love the depth, it makes things seam real even if the graphics are terrible. I feel like there's a real world behind my 3DS's screen.

Same here. It would be a little awkward for sure, but I can live with it. Seems like an odd design choice if it turns out to be the case though.

I keep my 3DS 3D on at the same time unless I'm in a bumpy ride or want to conserve battery life.

wonder if they will ever revamp the kinda archaic catching mechanic.

it really hasn't changed that much from the old days of sleep/freeze/paralysis. get dude to red.

throw ultraballs/dusk balls or w/e, for 30min while watching tv.

There's nothing much to add other than new Pokeballs since it works though.

At the very least they removed the "the ball missed!" crap from Gen 1.

Everyone knows that. You seem confused.

I think the point is that unless the game remake is thoroughly changed, it'd be pointless and stupid. You'd be surprised how people complained at the lack of stuff in Fire Red/Leaf Green.

Didn't mean to dismiss your concerns - just hoping people don't miss out on what may very well be the most ground-breaking Pokemon game in generations because a certain part of it isn't 3D.

Dat Power Whip was sexy as all hell. Also draco meteor looked awesome as well. Loving the animations so far and i like how close the pokemon are next to each other compared too the other 3d battle games. Looking forward to this game, GO TEAM Y, GO TEAM Y GO!

Since Gen V there's a new mechanic called critical capture, now you're much less likely to spend 30 minutes trying to capture a Pokémon.

Visually, Pokémon X and Y look fantastic, particularly in the battle sequences. Once you start, your trainer throws out the Pokéball and your Pokémon emerges in full, polygonal 3D. Unlike the overworld, the battles make use of the stereoscopic 3D capabilities of the system.

Is it just me...?
