That's just their PR line, "he lost the president's trust so he was fired because the president is so great you know". The reality is he is their fall guy, and Trump didn't want to fire him but they have to have a fall guy so there was no alternative.

Attacking the leakers is such a bad response, I'm glad that is the choice he was left with. I'm surprised he didn't stick with this being a complete fabrication of the liberal press but it just goes to show how terrified the administration is right now.

I wonder if they waited to leak this until after Flynn was removed because he was the most immediate danger to the country. They hoped the administration would remove him in hopes to put this all behind them and then bam the other shoe drops.

House Republicans are dismissing reports that Trump campaign staffers were in contact with Russias intelligence agency during the election and downplaying calling for a select committee to investigate the matter.

This is not surprising. Ignoring the issue would be super awesome for Republicans. It is going to be a lot harder to do this with a White House in total disarray and more and more leaks keep happening.
I never expected then House to investigate in the first place with Ryan there. Good news is that the Majority Whip already called for the Senate to do one and the media is still balls deep in this scandal so this isnt dying anytime soon.
That's a bad list. This is not gonna help us.

Being President is pretty different than running his shitty companies or running for President. There is nowhere for him to hide. There is no one else for him to draw attention to. He is in the spotlight 24/7 and he is already breaking down. Nunes isn't going to investigate the actions of Trump's transition team because he was on Trump's transition team himself, but by standing opposed he is only going to bring an uncomfortable amount of heat onto himself. None of this is going away for years.

My take on the leaks. They will not stop until the GOP starts a real investigation. The IC is slowly tipping their hand trying to force the issue. In the end even if the Repubs do nothing with it the IC has the evidence they need and can take their own action via formal charges.
They are giving the current government admins the option to handle this but if they fail to do so other steps will be taken.

More and more evidence that the dossier is 100% fact. In any other case, people would already be under criminal investigation and the president so tainted he would be preparing to step down. Not here. And we're taking this like it's no big deal. Trump's presidential run was a Russian plot to destabilize the US that worked 100%, and we are just playing along because if the public realizes there is no Oz behind the curtain who knows what might happen.
