God forbid we have a president that actually tells us what's going on and what he's doing... But there are always going to be haters.

If they dont want to, then dont air it. We dont need 12 channels airing the same speech.

CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, CNBC, PBS and maybe one of the major free networks who has a slow night anyway.

I dont think the CW airs the speeches. Smart move, they get the people who dont care.

I wonder how much NBC bitched when Obama was on Leno. I mean they advertised the shit out of that appearance.

un-fucking-incredible

god-for-fucking-bid we should glean something interesting from our goddam TV

It was only the 4th top rated show in the 16 years of The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. I bet they were pissed.

If not airing the speech doesnt work, then why are they complaining that they decide to air it?

well, ratings for new shows is down across the board. So they are probably grasping at whatever excuse they can.

I agree with the guy that said NBC should be jumping at the opportunity since they can't seem to fill a full week's line-up anyways.

If they don't want to air the broadcasts, then don't. Most people that want to hear what Obama has to say will likely tune in on CNN anyway, while the plebs continue to bask in the glory of their favorite crappy reality show. =\

Hey now, I liked the show. I was just pointing out the more likely explanation why their gamble failed miserably.

It's pretty apparent that Obama will pull the ratings. I think the execs want to make money off of him. And they haven't found a way to do that yet.
