Ain’t gonna lie I might gotta pick up a series X soon. I haven’t had much to play on ps5 and I don’t really care much for most of Sony’s exclusives.

How does Octopath Traveller play? I generally dislike turn based games, the only one I've ever managed more than an hour or so is Child of Light (does that even count?) but I like the look of the art style here.

You should give a game such as an RPG more time than a couple of hours, we wouldnt accept a review of a game if the game was only played for a few hours.

Nah. JRPGs are my genre. I know within the first few hours whether or not I will like it and I am not about to wade through 10+ hours of random battles and average sprite work to see if things get better.

With Octopath I could immediately tell how grindy it was going to be. I wanted to give the story telling format a chance as well but the criticisms were pretty accurate that separating character stories created a disconnected, uneven experience. (They seemed to do a slightly better job than Saga Frontier though.)

Really hoping that Project Triangle Strategy works out, as basic as the character work was in Octopath, I thought the team did an amazing job blending 2D/3D. (The Suikoden successor also seems to have this figured out)

They just had PSVR2 news, a State of Play and a Returnal trailer last month. They haven't said shit in months? Really? They gave away Control UE, Concrete Genie, Farpoint, FFVII Remake, Remnant and Destruction All Stars among others. They're dropping Returnal next month, Deathloop the month after that and Ratchet & Clank the month after that, with Resident Evil Village + marketing rights in between. And they're giving away the new Oddworld on PS Plus. I mean, what the hell is wrong with you? Seriously.

Oh yeah i'm pretty sure it is to do with that. Plus with EA Play launching on Steam recently, thats also put the spanner in the workd with some EA games.

Very strong editions, this is more exciting than a load of Bethesda games I've played before. The best Gamepass games (other than those that launch on it) are often games that have been on my radar that I haven't got around to playing yet there are a couple on here that fit the bill. Octopatch and Undertale are perfect examples, problem (as ever) is having the time.

Well, you are welcome to like those but they don't impress me as much as they impressed you, which is fine.

I was probably to harsh in my words, I agree but the scope and frequency is disappointing.

The first thing I'd say is that most of those are old announcements (besides the plus stuff of course) and some are meh at best. You can't really compare the ps announcements lately to the ms ones in my mind.

The psvr2 news really wasn't news either as it is like two years out.

I just want more as a ps5 only owner.

In what way was it disappointing for you? i thought it was amazing and easily a 9/10 game, surprised its coming to xbox but its a big + for MS and game pass is just ridiculous value

Insanely grindy, characters don't interact much outside of really simple skits, difficulty spikes too fast, for some reason i was expecting a full adventure like an old FF game, instead it just feels like a fan game or a tech demo.

Great visuals, story had potential, good soundtrack, there's just nothing backing it all up.

When I see comments like this I wonder do folks realize you still can buy the game if you want to. Nothing about being a Game Pass subscriber prevents you from owning the game if you want to, and you get a discount if you choose to buy it.

Not trusting Demon's Souls on PC was a mistaken slide.
