He is easy if you stock up on antimagic scrolls, and wield the holy avenger.
Now that party(can't recall the name) consisting on a liche, an archmage, a vampire, a minotaur, and a freaking beholder, yeah that was hard...

QFT.

Omega Weapon >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> Emerald and Ruby

Oh, and two other awesome ones...

1. The Master in Paper Mario

2. The 3 on 3 battle against
Mithos, Kratos, and Yuan (all powered up)
at the bottom of the Niflheim dungeon in Tales of Symphonia. Unfortunately, this battrle wasn't in the GC version. DAMN YOU NAMCO. :(

nobody mentioned the secret boss of ffx (international version for you people that play the game in japanese) that you get after beating all the dark aeons and has something like 12.000.000 of hp? (not to mention that it's still a bitch to beat even after you max all your stat)

Penance. That's a bitch indeed. Are there any movies of that fight with special tricks?

Puh-lease.

Buy 5 1-ups from Boo's Mansion and you're set.

As for others:

Kagnaxx - yes, damn hard, mazed & disintegrated Minsc many, many times :(

Ozma - not that hard, Frog Drop, 9999 Dragons and Thievery/ Grand Lethal for the motherfucking win.

FF7 Weapons - easy to moderate.

FF8 Weapons - bitching hard. Pillar of Light = O-U-C-H.

I recorded a cheese fight against Penance like 2 years ago..Zanmato for the cheese!

Took about 80 minutes to actually fight him though.

I can put it up on yousendit; don't know how to use youtube.

Medusa wasn't really hidden, nor was she that difficult.

Killing Saccubus during your stay at the governor's mansion, however, is tricky yet entirely possible.

shit, *I* was just about to mention Saccubus, damn you good sir :)

he can't kill you, but he CAN make you use up your burgers and colas FOR REAL :lol

An 80 minute battle? :lol

I've never tried to reach penance. The dark magus sisters are unbeatable.

I think she meant that it took 80 minutes to beat all the dark aeons.

Well ok, without Zanmato. :lol That one is too obvious and too cheesy.

Elidibs is laughably easy :(

Then again nobody MADE me max out all four of my black mage/calculators.

He was pretty easy, it was my first time fighting him and I beat him without too much trouble. I haven't even messed with calculators yet, that game is too freaking deep.

No, most of the Dark Aeons don't take very long to kill. My save before fighting Penance in the video is 94:44; after I actually fought him and saved it's 96:09.

I cut just the Penance part out, but I can't get Virtual Dub to compress it to xvid (it's a 5 gig .avi right now).

I don't think there's any other fast/non-cheese way to beat him. Supposedly every badguy including all the Dark Aeons except for Dark Anima and Penance have been beaten in a no-sphere grid game.

I'm guessing Penance and the Dark Aeons are in the PAL versions? Meh...

Yes, but we also get fake widescreen and 50hz!

The only dark aeons I couldn't beat were Dark Magus Sisters and Dark Anima. Thanks to Yojimbo's Zanmato I could beat some of the other Dark Aeons. But Yojimbo never does Zanmato on Anima.

Yeah, I know, I'm cheap.

Honestly, I would advise you to avoid Calculators. They are too powerful by a large margin.

Yeah, I know, I'm cheap.

Considering the ungodly amount of hours I spent maxing out EVERYTHING (including Yuna's Aeons and my !!blitzball team) in that game, I'd like a crack at them... but I'd never go through all that, again, just to try. Oh well.

While we are at it, what kind of model is Penance? An "ultimate" fiend?

The Omega and Ultimate weapon monster designs from X and X-2 are so good.

nevermind, google is my friend

I don't know how to use youtube, so whatever. Yay cheese!

Penance looks completely different from anything.

The body has 12,000,000HP, the arms have 500,000 and regenerate.
After you do about 4,000,000 damage, the front cover of Penance falls off, then if both arms are present when the body gets a turn, it can do an attack that is a guaranteed game over. Auto-Life does not save you, nor does an Aeon taking the hit. Game over.

The Dark Aeons and stuff are in the International version as well as PAL. The Dark Magus sisters aren't too tough at all if you can run far enough away so that at least one stops chasing you; they don't start with their Overdrive meter full nor can they do their Overdrive if all 3 aren't present.

Are you sure Zanmato does not work with Dark Anima?

Does a youtube exist of the hidden boss fight in Zelda: A Link to the Past? the one some guy won the contest for or something? Don't know too much about it.

That's not a boss. It's just a guy (Chris Houlihan) sitting in a cave, giving you money. My father found him once by falling down a hole in the pyramid at the end of the game, but you can find him in other places too.

you can actualy beat the dark magus sister even if you fought them all at the same time just summon your own magus sister to take the delta attack hit
then have two character with auto phoenix down... since all the magus sister attacks just target a single character the character with auto phoenix down will automaticaly use a phoenix down and revive who taked hit
they won't use delta attack again since when only one of the magus sister has a full overdrive and the other don't,that sister will just use a mega graviton attack which isn't to dangerous so you can continue to pummel them all until they die

Holy shit, that was awesome. :lol

I don't have enough gil. That's the biggest problem. I only have +- 1.5mln gil now. He sometimes does Zanmato after throwing 500k gil at him, but he won't do Zanmato on Anima nor Magus Sisters. Even after throwimng all the money at him.

Bad luck, I guess.

Can you "youtube" the video of Emerald in 78 sec for me/us please?

Oh and by the way, how is he supposed to achieve that without cheating??

Am owned total.
My personal record for beating Emerald was with Cloud, alone, countering and miming it's own Omnislash. I killed the fucker in 3 mins 47 seconds.

I never thought about Barret's limit!! :(

Damn that penance battle looks nice.

I wasn't going to include it, but maybe I will include FFX in the list of PSX/PS2 (mostly FF) games I'm going to rebuy this year.

Now, to avoid the confusion, which FFX version will I need to buy? and will it play on my US ps2? (the non-slimline fat original version)

If you want to fight the Dark Aeons/Penance, use the Expert Sphere Grid or any of that, you'll have to get either the International version or the PAL version. There is a Japanese and Asian version of International.

The Japanese version has Japanese and English text and subs (I think..there is an option to select between either, but it may be for text and voices are either selectable between English and Japanese or are English only).

The Asian version (which I have) is only in English text and English voices. It is missing a bonus DVD that the Japanese version has (some Endless Calm thing that came with Unlimited SaGa in the US I think), and it is quite a bit cheaper and easier to find online (I got it for $20 on ebay; the Japanese one seems like it was around $70 at the time).

The PAL version probably doesn't have the bonus DVD and has borders that squish the screen and it plays at a slower speed (I've read players say that Tidus runs as if he was constipated).

None of the 3 versions will play on a US PS2 without a mod chip/similar device.

Blah! That sucks ass. I don't want to have to buy another ps2 just for that.

I don't suppose this is revenge for (correct me if i'm wrong) ruby and emerald weapon only appearing in the NA version of FFVII

That was fixed with the International version of 7 (which that Emerald video is from). Why 10 and X2 got one, dunno.
