I won't lie, I find the lack of 'good' info about the 720 very disheartening. I understand it hasn't been announced yet but there isn't a positive buzz about the thing. At all.
I would buy a PS4 just for a new Oddworld game.
If MS doesn't launch the Durango this Holiday season, it's over.
America = World
Is there hype for the Xbox 720 at all?
So how's Game Cube did?

And Gamestop are everywhere, even in North pole.
Good points. All in all I guess things are definitely looking up for Sony come holiday season.Well it's a good thing North America isn't the only part of the western world. Microsoft seems very pleased to concede Europe (which the developer who sparked this topic is from) to Sony, and have been doing that for about a decade now.
Microsoft really dropped the ball on next-gen. Possibly even more than Nintendo since they at least have something out in the wild.

And how many good things were you reading about PS4 prior to its announcement? Developers can't exactly sing the praises of an unannounced console, especially when they'll be under NDA. So you're only going to hear from PS4 developers until Durango is finally announced.I've only read good things about the PS4, contrary to Xbox 720 rumour threads.
Eh? So does that mean you were saying Sony dropped the ball on next-gen prior to PS4 being announced? Possibly even more than Nintendo?Microsoft really dropped the ball on next-gen. Possibly even more than Nintendo since they at least have something out in the wild.

Well any games they've acquired for Durango won't be announced or discussed until Durango is announced and NDAs are lifted. That's what's happened.I thought Microsoft had a team/studio dedicated to acquiring (perhaps not the correct terminology) games from European developers?
What happened? I'm talking in a broader sense, not just about JAW.
Not reading anymore right now. They're assholes for shafting the PS2 for that MS moneyhat. I was dying for That game. In time I'll give a shit, but that Lorne guy was a cunt.
how many oddworld games did you played this gen?

Wow gaf is funny.Microsoft really dropped the ball on next-gen. Possibly even more than Nintendo since they at least have something out in the wild.
I am convinced the people who bash the 360 about everything don't own one.How exactly has XBLA gone downhill? It's still got a ton of good exclusives.
Are you really this ignorant? Of course there's nothing to say. It hasn't been announced yet. NDAs. Nobody had anything to say about PS4 before it was announced. That's not really relevant to their opinion of the hardware though. The impression I get from the vast majority of devs - indies musing about the smoother new certification process, big name third party support (Capcom, Square etc), and Sony's own in-house teams jizzing over hardware surprises even they didn't know about - all points to PS4 really catering to just about everybody involved. There is literally nothing to say for Microsoft's new box, and also look at stuff like how XBLA went downhill, their already limited first party stable, a no doubt huge Kinect 2.0 focus, and then Sony being able to secure big DLC exclusives from even the loyalest companies like Bungie - all this points to a MS in steep decline over the last couple of years while Sony rises and rises to fill the opened gaps.

It was nothing about money, we didn’t receive a dime from Microsoft, contrary to some beliefs, it just seemed a logical choice, at that time, to work with Microsoft.
Stranger's Wrath, Oddworld Inhabitants' second Xbox exclusive release, was met with incredibly poor sales. According to Lorne Lanning, co-founder and president of Oddworld Inhabitants, Electronic Arts - the developer's publisher at the time – failed to market the game properly and, as such, sabotaged the title and "condemned it to failure". It was then that Oddworld Inhabitants faced a possible acquisition from EA, to which Lanning's famously turned down.

They could have announced something much sooner, sure, but at the very least when they did it turned things around considerably. Here's PS4, looks good, plenty of dev support, out this year, boom. Based on the position that the 360 has been in for the last couple of years, I don't have nearly as much faith in Microsoft doing the same. Everyone is at least slightly accountable for this gen lasting fucking ages.
I am convinced the people who bash the 360 about everything don't own one.
its hard to judge MS, but letting Sony gain first mover advantage was a bad decision by MS. And the more time that goes without a reveal means more time for bad feelings to fester. It doesn't help that all rumours and leaks from the MS camp aren't too goodAnd how many good things were you reading about PS4 prior to its announcement? The bad feelings on a videogame forum won't have much of a bearing on the success of the next Xbox. You do know why they recruited Phil Harrison last year, right?Wouldn't be surprised if the next Xbox is American only. If they actually do go online only, it doesn't seem like they would be interested in supporting Europe, since a lot of the Xbox 360 support has already been quite bad in some European countries I believe.
I mean, if they are making it online only, and want to sell it in Europe, I would have imagined that they would have started setting up a network structure for the current Xbox 360 to test certain features out, access, etc, and then hook the next Xbox onto that structure.
Maybe it's not necessary, maybe they would sell the next Xbox in Europe with offline capabilities (That is, if it is online only. It might not be.), etc.
Durango will join the greats!

maybe MS is focusing all of their resources on 1st party games right now that they don't have anything left to moneyhat those small 3rd party devs.
i really hope this is the case.
Not having dev kits is one thing, no communication is something else entirely.
What the hell are MS playing at. Its starting to sound like MS are suffering from the same cocky attitude that Sony had at the start of this generation.
I know there have been warning signs along the way. Bizzare Creations lead bitchslapping them to the press and other developers on twitter recently saying that MS latch on to success and their most recent success was to piss off developers.
I seriously think they believe they are the be all & end all in the industry and if thats the case, they deserve a kick in the bollocks

Seems like MS wants to hide their 2013 upgraded specs from Sony at all costs. I am expecting a massive jump in performance, to around 2.5 TFLOPs with GDDR5 ram
Thing with providing dev kits to these smaller developers is, they tend to leak the specs to various media outlets.
What have they done to piss off developers?
