Of all the game Nintendo announced, which looks more visually appealing?

X and Mario Kart 8 so far but I need to watch more videos. MK8 honestly delivered on what I expected an HD MK to look like. It was pretty similar to all the pre-rendered movies we have seen of Mario for so many years, now in-game. Outside of that Smash Bros. looks visually appealing as well, but not graphically stunning like the other two.

Wait, when was this confirmed?

I dunno that it was (then again I haven't been paying much attention as of yet), but considering Wind Waker HD is going to be 1080p (as well as a bunch of other titles, I'm looking at you MK8) it doesn't really surprise me.

I don't think Mario Kart is looking that great. It is beautiful but that seems to be mostly due to the lighting and shaders than anything else. Smash seems more detailed, which makes sense.

DKC:TF would look way better if it would use Mario Kart's lighting engine for example.

All of them looked very clean and, given that they weren't going for realistic art styles, at or above the top of their competition on PS360. For example, Mario Kart 8 looked better than Modnation Racers, Blur, or either Sony Kart game. All looked better than Nintendoland and constrained in the way they used shaders (except Wind Waker, which is too bloomy). I don't think there's any request that, just as with their last console, most of Nintendo's games will be as good looking as they can be given the technical limits of the console and the art style they have chosen.

Mario 3D World didn't look better than R&C FFA (PS3) though, it's a shame because that was the game i hoped would make me consider picking up a Wii U.

MK8 is scratching CG level

Truly the most next-gen looking game; but even 3D World looks superb, HD + Nintendo's art style choices work very well so far

Mario Kart 8 looks amazing, especially since it's basically guaranteed to be 60fps. Such a pleasant surprise, I expected a souped up MK 7, I was wrong.

yep.

Bayonetta though really impressed me.
Mario Kart 8 is one of the best reveal.
Smash will be gorgeous too knowing that it will be 1080p.
X is sometimes awesome looking sometimes it just looks a little empty for me but I guess it's just the different types of environments.
W101 looks so fuuuuuuuuun !!!
Mario 3D is the less impressive game but the art style as a big role in the way we're looking at this game.

Mario kart 8 is great. I also dig wind waker remake.

X is ok for a current gen game, watch it in 720p. The map is big btw.

Bayobetta nyc level is good.

Don't forget tha wii u has more ram and better gpucso in some games it will lookca bit better than ps360 games

Super Mario 3D World. It doesn't look super crisp unless the camera's up close, but the characters pop when it's done right. Enemies look like they have a lot of expressions. It's nice when the enemies are developed as much as the player models.

X. Everything that Xenoblade was, but bigger and badder. I'll enjoy the views in this game the most, because flight will let me appreciate from all sorts of angles.

Smash Bros. Mega Man's model looks like it fits in with the rest of the cast. My appraisal of the art direction is going to rely heavilly on their character choice; I don't think I can say anything about Villager's model. Every character shown seems to have new animations, and that's just what I was hoping for.

Wonderful 101. I relish the ground scenes because the the colors are vibrant and the characters are distinct. It kind of loses that in normal play, but maybe I'll change my mind if I get to play it.

Mario Kart 8. This was FAR beyond my expectations. It's still Mario Kart though; watching it isn't nearly as fun as playing it. The above games rely a little more on visual appeal, but that's why this one surprised me.

X and Mario Kart 8 blow anything from Xbox 360 or PS3 out of the water. Seriously, if you told me X was a PS4 game I wouldn't have even bat an eye.

X and Mario Kart were top notch.

Bayonetta was also good at 60 FPS.

I found SSB looked very unfinished. Which it is, but it looked it.

Was Bayonetta 2 shown in 60fps somewhere? I know Kamiya said that's his goal with his games... but he's only supervising this.

That said, if so, Bayonetta 2 would be my pick by far.

Others include:

X - When the first footage showed up, I thought it was CG, then realized NOPE! O_o

Mario Kart - Never in my wildest dreams I would ever expect Mario Kart to impress me visually more than EAD Tokyo Mario and Smash, WHAT THE FUCK!!! O_O Dat lighting.

Watch_Dogs - Shocked as hell that it's as close to PS4/Xbone/PC as it is, if Ubi's not pulling the wool over our eyes.

Certainly makes me think it's a next gen console, yeah it's going to look bad compared to PS4 and Xbone when they're really showing their stuff, but it's certainly looking better than what PS360 could do from what I've seen. But Last of Us certainly looks cutting edge as does GT6, so it may not be as big of a gap as it would seem, but those are Sony's best though.

wait what? that is your wish, isn't it? MK8 can't be 1080p/60fps with that overall visuals imo

I want to see Super Mario 3D World up close on a big screen and be able to control the camera before I judge everything but on a cursory glance, Mario Kart 8 and X looked the most stunning. I also love where the Super Smash Bros art style is headed. It all looks phenomenal and the focus on Nintendo titles being 1080p at 60fps is pretty impressive.

For the art style they're going for with the games there was not a single visually disappointing game I saw.

I was annoyed with how weak most of the games looked art direction wise. Rayman was a lot better than a ton of Nintendo games.

The best was Monoltih's X for being an open world game with actual color compared to all the open world games previewed this E3.

Mario Kart 8 and X..

..but having looked at all the dev interview vids and hands on...pretty much everthing Nintendo showed first party wise is looking good.

The Direct wasn't amazing but they have some very strong content IMO.

If Mario Kart 8 launched this year I think they could have done stunningly well during the holidays.. as it looks that good.

Amazed they aren't pushing it out this year to be honest.

Mario Kart 8 looked incredible and I would even say that the lighting looks way better than anything I've seen on PS3 or Xbox (not poly count wise, though). 3D Mario World also looked really really nice at certain points, specially some shaders and textures. X also very good but somehow due to the scale of the environments I doubt it will perform that well... we'll see.

There's something about that transparent pipe in SM3DW that really gets my goat...and I think the lighting and colors are fantastic.

But yeah, X & Mario Kart, especially. Smash Bros. looks pretty damn good, too, considering it's probably at least 8-10 months from being finished.

Same. As well as the trees. Eye candy.

MK blew me away. I thought parts of the trailer were CG.

I actually kind of liked the look of Super Mario 3D World. You have to look up close but there is just something very nice and smooth about it.

Mario Kart looked awesome, I was looking at it thinking "OK maybe Wii U isn't on par with X1/PS4 but it can surely allow nintendo to deliver gorgeous games".

I was disappointed during the live direct but found out I missed a lot of stuff because of the horrible feed. I urge everyone to re-watch on eShop, or another high quality stream. Everything was super clean and looked at the top of PS360 offerings, IMO.

X, MK8, and Bayonetta all looked great. Mario 3D was the biggest disappointment.

Yeah i just saw good vids of MK8 and Mario.

Mario looks really impressive actually, almost cgi in models and light. Animations are incredible, details like the smoke when they run are really impressive to, me think!

MK8 looks really really good. Clearly the most "next gen" game in the group. Dat light! Maybe it's even finally some exemple of the more advanced shaders compared to PS3 and 360.

That at least gave me the desire to see what's next for Nintendo ips!

Mario Kart 8 and X, easily. I love the look of MK8, actually, and I've never EVER said that about a Mario Kart game. Pikmin, Smash Bros, and 3D World look bland in comparison. Wind Waker HD looks good too, but that's kind of cheating.

The Wonderful 101 and Bayonetta 2 as well. Platinum puttin' in that work.

Mario Kart is breath-taking. What the hell happened with the rest of the teams if Mario Kart can look like that. And to think it's not even due this year and may have more improvements.

Also X is of course great also.

Sublime. That's what X is.

MK8 looked great. Had a lot of aliasing in the video but looked great overall.

X and Mario Kart 8 blow anything from Xbox 360 or PS3 out of the water. Seriously, if you told me X was a PS4 game I wouldn't have even bat an eye.
X looks like a better looking current gen game. Doesn't look next-gen to me and doesn't "blow away anything on 360/PS3".

Looks as good as the PS4/Xbone stuff that's for sure.
Maybe in bite-sized gifs.

Yea, I was expecting Super Mario U to showcase impressive graphics and Mario Kart U to be kind of average, but it's completely the other way around.
exactly this.

wait what? that is your wish, isn't it? MK8 can't be 1080p/60fps with that overall visuals imo

Yeah, no way MK8 will look that good, be 60fps and 1080p?
If it is, then Wii U is capable of some pretty amazing visuals!
