brandon green looked fantastic at DE tonight. 1st string defense altogether looked great, especially against the rush. very encouraging sign
 
welp, our season is over. welcome in the era of Kyle Orton! my fellow purdue student, i salute you!

remember when i talked about not being the laughing stock of the league if grossman was healthy? well, we're goddamn atrocious now.
 
I almost want to see him come back just to let some guys take him out back and maybe beat some sense into him. Its probably not true but I can hope cant I. :)

On the opening night of camp, Donovan McNabb, Hugh Douglas and Terrell Owens were together in an elevator. It was McNabb's first brush with Owens and the quarterback, always the entertainer, playfully slid up next to Owens to break the ice. Rather than return the playful banter, Owens said something along the lines of, "Nah, I don't play that" or "I'm not having that and I've got nothing to say to you."

Douglas turned and snapped at Owens and said something like, "We're not having any of THAT! You aren't going to tear this team up." Owens blurted back something akin to, "I've got nothing to say to you two haters."

Douglas went ballistic and told Owens he's lucky he's not getting punched in the mouth, and if Douglas could do so without repercussions from coach Andy Reid he would follow through on his threat. Owens' response was along the lines of, "Hey, you gotta do what you gotta do."

Douglas, who others said was more than agitated, told Owens he'd get him on the field, which didn't happen as Owens has been hampered by a groin injury. But right from the start, rather than put the whole thing to rest, T.O. put both McNabb and Douglas on the freeze, even when he saw it could lead to a physical altercation with a man most would avoid ticking off.

one Eagles vet claimed that if Owens went after certain players on the air the team better not bring him back because it would be brought to a whole different level.

Ouch! Damn, sorry Bears fans that sucks. He was still on the field in the 2nd quarter? Don't most important Offensive starters just play one or two sets of downs in the first pre-season game?

Does anybody here have directv and sunday ticket?

i wanna get sunday ticket, but i dont wanna buy the bullshit basic packagae because i already have cable and im happy with it.

is there any way to get hooked up with just sunday ticket alone?
 
My advice to Bears fans is to watch your Super Bowl Shuffle videos on Sunday afternoons instead of actual football games this fall.

Well, I was at the Vikings game last night, atleast for the first half of it. I'm disappointed to say that for the most part it looked just like last years Vikings. Our offense is made by exactly two people: Culpepper and Kleinsasser. Culpepper looks like he's playing with high school kids out there, and he more than compensates for our shitty WRs and RBs. Kleinsasser plays like fucking Zeus and compensates for our shitty guards.

The defense was crap, but for different reasons than last year. Pat Williams was king, stuffed the middle and made everything bounce to the outside. Unfortunetaly that usually meant a 11 yard gain. :-( We got worked on outside running. Fred Smoot didn't play, but to my suprise Trent Green picked on Antione Winfield. I must have seen 4-5 balls get caught in front of him. And usually he wasn't even close to the WR when he caught it. Very discouraging.

I was really disappointed to see us be unable to put pressure on the QB. Erasmus James didn't play while I was there, but I was expecting us to do a lot of blitzing. Our linebackers are junk, but they are fast and big junk. I would love to see us send 1-2 linebackers on every passing down and hope our highly paid secondary holds up.
 
McPherson linning up under the tackle was fucking hilarious. Knowing him, he was probably drunk at the time but all in all he didn't look too bad last night. However if I were a Saint fan I'd be praying night and day that Aaron Brooks doesn't get injured 'cause their #2 QB Todd Bouman looked like total shit. He might be the worst #2 in the league right now. McPherson or Kingsbury has got to pass Bouman on the depth chart.

And on that note, the Seahawks' #2 Senaca Wallace was unbelievable. This guy could be a star if he were a starter. He's mobile like Vick but much more accurate in his throws. He's got one more year on his contract here in Seattle and if he leaves someone is going to get one hell of a QB.
 
...i'm surprised nobody touched on this. Harrington played most of the first quarter last night, going 9/9 for a hundred yards. Rodgers looked good, Pollard looked awesome, even the Williams boys looked good when they weren't double covered. Kinda sad that we lost SChlesinger for 8 weeks, cuz there goes our running game. Proof of it was that on 3rd and 4 from the six, I believe it was, last night, the Jets lined up in a Dime defense, :lol . Harrington ended up having to scramble for 3 but he didn't get the first.

A run game would be neat this year.

I only hope that Dilifer and Johnson go down as quickly as possible, so the QUARTERBACK OF THE FUTURE can get some play time.

Thats the very vocal minority in New Orleans never happy. The score was 7 to 3 while the starters were in there, defence looks way improved, if it wasnt for the fumble by Deuce, I dont think the 1st String D would have given up the TD. Offence line needs more time to gel given we got to new people Mayberry and Brown. Was pressure on Brooks all night, but he seemed to handle it well, must be used to it by now. Thursday will be a better Judge of where we are at, the starters will play 3 quarters against the Patroits.I agree we suck at Backup QB, but Kingsbury looked really good, noway McPherson is ready, way to green.
 
It is now a day later and after having more time to reflect I'm still pissed off! :lol

I refuse to believe our season has gone down the shitter in game two of the preseason! Orton or Hutchinson will step up BELIEVE DAT. I have faith in the Ron Turner offensive system. We will prevail!

The only way to get sunday ticket is with Direct TV. Just a warning, Direct TV is garbage compared to digital cable. Sunday Ticket is worth dealing with the crap though.

Edit: Looking at the stats for the preseason games. Its nice to see Vick is back to his winning ways!! NFL Network has a recap of every preseason game tonight fyi.

ive heard that, thats why im reluctant to switch over.

What im trying to ask is: can i just buy the 230$ sunday ticket package, and rent the hardware out, and let that be that?
i dont want to pay 41.99$ a month on top of that for a basic package when i already get (free) cable..,.
 
i dont understand how cable is superior. is it because you like indemand or something? maybe you have a great cable company i dont know, but all i ever experienced with cable is higher prices, inferior display quality and limited sports options. maybe your experience is different i dont know. maybe satellites back east are a pain in the ass (cause of weather), but it's sweet out here in CA :D

alex smith didn't look that great, but he didn't look completely terrible. he didn't force any throws. he looked pretty nervous and got the living shit knocked out of him a few times cause he wont slide but what can you do.

rat looked awesome though. i dont want to base my opinion on who should be starter after the first game but rattay looked great. time will tell i suppose
 
Apparently TO was in attendance at the Falcons game. TRADE THAT PIECE OF SHIT PEERLESS PRICE TO THE IGGLES AND HOWEVER MANY DRAFT PICKS(a lot, I know) AND GET VICK SOME TO LOVE!
 
the eagles aren't stupid enough to trade T.O. to an NFC contender. do you know how badly he would rape the eagles if they ever played? talk all you want about hugh douglas kicking his ass, but T.O. would slaughter those DB's just like he did to NE (even on a bum leg)
 
I think that TO should become like Kain, from Kung Fu. He wanders the earth, going to a different team each season and annoying the shit out of them until he must be traded.
