i'm just happy the yanks seem to have a decent handle on matsuzaka and aren't being overpowered.

Yeah, but I'm utterly exasperated that we could have legitimately beat them this weekend if we had some kind of normal rotation. We had a lead in the 7th in game 1, two two runs leads in game 2, a 3 run lead in game 3....it's just so ****ing annoying.

COLTER OMG

Guess who I saw at the grocery store tonight?

JOHN ROCKER

I was just standing there waiting for the guy to slice my turkey in the deli section and he walks up to order.

I wasn't even looking at him, but knew it was him right away because (IMO) he has a very distinct southern accent. I didn't say anything to him because I knew about his dad (killed in a car accident a couple weeks ago) and I figured he was probably feeling pretty shitty.

Anyway, the guy is a physical specimen. They don't come much more built than him.

Typically, ESPN is wrong. From the Yankees website:

Full name is Randall Colter Bean...married to Mary Ruth (11/4/00)...was signed by Steve Lemke...graduated from Auburn University with a degree in finance/management in 2000...holds the Tigers' baseball team record with 108 games pitched in his NCAA career...was named Second Team All-SEC and helped his team to the College World Series

Daisuke-sama is a man of many, many pitches. Show him respect, gajin!

I thought you said you lived in PA. Though I realize you could have meant PA, Japan.

Isn't that "gaijin", Wapanese?
Damn this inferior keyboard that cannot keep up with my typing speed. *checks back* "Made by the Microsoft Corporation"? Yep, crap.

EDIT: aww captmcblack don't be steamed, just watch Bean! :)

mint-k kills dice-k

I can't wait for ESPN to start making excuses. This was not a good performance by Dice-K at all, but I'm sure they'll say it was pressure and whateverthe****.

And Pettitte coming in. We're going to hurt him if we keep doing this.

LOL Pettite coming in? Relief pitching is probably the only way he can get a W these days :lol
So this is desperation, right? Frontline starter now in the pen? It was for the Phils!

EDIT: Crap they're hitting frozen ropes off Pettitte.

He's giving patient hitters fits it looks like. First pitch swingers seem to have the best luck. :lol

oh my gosh, I just looked at Proctor's stats vs. the next few batters.

proctor vs. manny 2.100 OPS

You better not! I'm seriously this close to putting you on ignore, and frankly that's just sad.
I just put SD on ignore after reading through his posts today. Seriously, I've had it with his bullshit drama-queen know-nothing baseball commentaries. And I can manage to tolerate his political threads. And have never placed a Mets fan on ignore.

Anyways, notes for the weekend:

Kelly Johnson is the real deal, as Brian McCann before him. Francouer is making progres and not far behind. This is the next generation of Chipper, Andruw and Javy.

Bobby getting ejected is still awesome.

Braves still own the Mets.

Oliver Perez is a psychotic nutjob who is single handedly out to ruin my life. Either I have him on my fantasy team, and he put up the most pitiful numbers imaginable, or he's off my team, plays the Braves, and throws a 7K 0BB peice of awesome. wtf. I hate him even more than I hate Jim Leyritz.

Ervin Santana seems to be sane again. Nice.

I am really going to miss the Braves when I move to DC in a couple weeks

Why isn't Daisuke shutting down the Yankees? The BoSox shouldn't miss the sweep because of Daisuke!

Tim Hudson rules.

Goddamn Mike, what happened on the Marlins?

Keep telling yourself that. It might come true in September. :D
Dude, we would have easily swept your sorry asses if it weren't for Oliver Perez. I can't believe I just typed that, but it's true!

are there any black or spanish people in boston AT ALL?

:lol

I'm Puerto Rican and I went to my first Red Sox game last season (against Detroit) at Fenway. The stadium is amazing, the atmosphere = <3

Wily Mo isn't doing a whole lot to help move himself ahead of Coco on the depth chart.

Pedroia! GRIT.

WTF Jon. Pedroia is NOT a threat to steal. He runs about as fast as Doug Mirabelli after eating a big dinner of chicken parm.

Keep in mind the first matchup involved Redman.
