Dude, you should have been here. We were having a party.

I was at work I almost blew a gasket when Mota fucked up again on the radio. But luckily Green came up big time, now it's time to put the Phillies to sleep.

So do all the New York fans agree the race is now to see who ends up with a better record?

I was all about having the best record last year, then the damn injury bug hit us at the worst time.
In a way it was sort of an odd blessing though since all we could go on was two unproven guys. After their gutsy play last October Maine and Perez belonged on this team and that they were for real.

I want El Duque,Pedro, and Delgado playing without any pain come October none the less. Plus I think Glavine is playing with a little more oomph this year since this could be his last go around in the majors,'cause you never know. TAll these guys along with Maine and Perez makes me shake like a little groupie.
So nope-at this point I don't care about records as I did last year.

I'm shocked the guy gets away with saying stuff like this. It makes for some fireworks but I wouldn't dare say it. I mean your job may be on the line.

To top it off this guy has no voice for radio, one of the worst I've ever heard.
Spewing it seems to be his thing though.

Thome is at 499 HRs.

I really hope he gets 500 at home against the Angels this weekend.
After that the White Sox have 4 in KC and then 3 in Minnesota =(

He deserves a good ovation when he hits it.

Man. What a game. OriLOLs indeed.

Anderson, whose streak of games with an RBI ended at 12 last Friday, had gone three straight games without driving in a run before exploding again tonight. He has 16 homers, half of which have come in the last 17 games

GA. Awesomeness.
Magic number in the single digits!

Maine lost the strike zone at that point and walked the next three batters. The walk that forced in the run was to Andruw Jones (see Kenny Rogers, Turner Field and October 1999).
Why must they hurt me?

Gordo is coming back into the starting rotation and Santana is going to the bullpen where he can challenge Bootcheck for the dubious honor of being the worst reliever in the Angels organization.

A few things:

1. Motherfuck the Devil Rays. Like many other teams (see: the OriLOLs, the LAAAAAAAAAAAAAA, et al), they seem to specifically only play hard versus the Yankees, but they bend over for the Red Sox. The Sox don't even have to buy them dinner beforehand. :(

2. Mariners are likely finished. Excellent. <3

3. Garrett Anderson and Albert Pujols are never seen in the same place at the same time. It is clear to me this is because they are the same person right now.

4. Joba gave up his first unearned run yesterday. DFA JOBA, FREE VILLONE

5. If Moose keeps pitching decently, and Clemens is still hurting, we probably have to consider putting Moose in his rotation spot :O

How sweet would it have been to go into tomorrow's 3 game set at Fenway only 3 games back? *sigh*

On Joba: he's looked a tad off his last 2 appearances. "Off" here meaning human. Fastball wasn't being spotted as well as it has been, getting into semi-bad counts. Good example was that heater in KC that Damon had to make a nice catch on to prevent a double. Posada positioned himself outside but the pitch tailed right over the plate instead. Someone like Manny or Vlad would hit that same fastball into the next county.

What I like most about Joba though is his mentality. He seems to be like Mo in that regard--knows he'll fail at some point and will just shake it off and move on.

GM Terry Ryan is leaving the Twins. Wonder if he is going to take the Pirates job.
Actually he's going to stay within the Twins organization as a "senior advisor." It sounds like he will be doing lots of work on scouting and such. Or something.

Don't they have to do that for contractual reasons? Non-compete type of stuff. Same way that Mike Hargrove is an advisor for the Mariners for the season, but has been in Cleveland the entire summer.

Hey, who knows, maybe he has personal issues and doesn't want a full time job anymore.

I listened to the press conference today and it sounds like he was just tired of the job and didn't have the energy for it. He seems like a pretty honest guy, so I hope he wasn't manuevering to get out. Maybe Pohlad will open his wallet for the new guy.

Poor Burnett can't ever get any run support.

he's a .500 pitcher for a reason.

god i hate the wins stat, it's the only reason AJ got injured this year. And again today, another 120 pitches.

Joy to the world, the Blue Jays are .500 again.

Burnett has pretty much been our best pitcher this year. Other than like 1 or 2 blow ups he has been at an ace level. The only thing holding him back is the team, and the crazy amount of pitches he has to throw to get to the 7th inning.

Got to hand it to Thomas, he was basically the Jays today.

I've actually been impressed with Russ Adams. He has a really good eye and worked too important walks. If only the Jays weren't so enamored with John Macdonald and had the guts to move Hill to SS , he could be our second basemen next year.

They gave Hill the choice to move to SS and he said he didn't want to play at SS.

WOOT! Loney with a seeing eye single for 2 RBI!!!!!

Edit: WTF KENT why is you slow ass running?!?!?!?

Edit: Damn it Fatty Wells

Edit3: PIERRE STOLE HR!!!!! WOOT!

Edit: Saito! Wells did a decent job. Loney was godly in this series.

Why don't Jay fans like Johnny Mac? He's a terrific defensive SS that hits for decent average. Kind of a throwback SS from the 80's.

We all love Johnny Mac and I would love to keep him on the team. But he just so bad offensively that I don't think we can afford to have him start. Even if he was the best defensive short stop in the AL (which he probably is) there still would be no way that he could make up for his offensive ineptness. He is putting up a decent average sure but his OBP is just atrocious as he never walks and when he does get hits they are usually singles.

It wouldn't be a problem if our offense was better and could carry him but we can't. Other than Rios we don't have an elite offensive player, Wells and Glaus are too streaky to be counted on and Thomas is too old.

Hell I don't mind paying him 2 million to be our backup infielder but I know if we are paying him that much he will probably be our starter.

Brandon Inge says hi :D

Oops, just realized you said shortstop and not 3rd baseman... I need sleep *slinks off to bed*

Brandon Inge is the 3rd base version of John McDonald.

I'm going to miss every game this weekend, so I'll have to be with you guys in spirit. This is pretty much the last obstacle of the season.

ahahahaha @ "seal the deal"

You guys did a masterful job of beating us all season and keeping us from making the playoffs!

It would be so awesome to have a 6 game win streak that corresponded with a Red Sox 6-game losing streak. :lol

LOL YR NOT GONNA WIN THE DIVISION

Suck it down.

I don't want to watch this series. My roommate is a SpoDaddy and he's obnoxious. He's one of those Boston SpoDaddies too, which is beyond enough. He asked me if the Pats had played yet. And he asked me this on TUESDAY.
