Phillies are facing the Braves for 3 games so they can basically take it right there. Rockies & Padres need to start losing. SF is up 7 to 2 against SD tonight too. :D

yeah it will be hard but not impossible, it will just take a lot of losing by the other teams. The braves play the phillies for 3, Padres play the Brewers for 3, and the Rockies play the Diamondbacks for 3. Should be fun.
 
CBP will be ROCKING tomorrow night...Closest thing to a playoff atmosphere seen in a long while.

We go 4-2 or 5-1 we should be in the clear(depending on the padres)

yeah these next 3 games will probably be the biggest of the season for both teams.
 
So in some good news out of this miserable season, Josh Fields has 22 homers in only 350 PAs.

.800 OPS in three-fourths of a rookie season. If he can learn left field even decently, that is a major upgrade for the Sox.
 
Ronnie Belliard and the Nats have just been killing playoff teams down the stretch. I just checked his stats .. in the last 7 games (all against the Mets and Phils) he is batting .375 with 10 RBI's and an OPS of over 1.000.

Sometimes I think it's better to play a .500 team down the stretch, then play a team that has been out of it since June.

well I think that the Nationals have been playing at or around .500 ball since the second month of the season.

As a Sox fan that picture makes me sad, cuz Yankee fans are gonna be all over that when one of those three doesnt happen.

With the Mets 2 game lead and the Red Sox 2 game lead, who do yall think will squander their lead before the end of the season?
 
So, let's review:

The Yankees are 2 games out of the division lead with 6 games left to play. The 6 games are versus the Devil Rays and the Orioles; the division-leading Red Sox have games against the Twins and Athletics.

The Yankees are up 5.5 in the wild card with 6 to play.
The only remaining competitor for the wild card is the Tigers. In order for the Tigers to contend for the wild card, they would have to win all of their last 6 games, and the Yankees would have to lose their last 6 games. Should that happen, there would be a play-in game for the wild card.

The Frankman has exactly 1 game left before he is banned from Off-Topic for the next few months.

Or Joe Torre can bring in aces Edwar Ramirez and Brian Bruney to totally wreck a 5 run lead against the damn Devil Rays. I don't post here often, just lurk - but that was such bad fucking managing that I had to break my no post rule Wow. What the hell goes through ones head to put Edwar anywhere near the mound?
