Because it's not reasonable to project the performance of a seven inning sample size towards the rest of a season. Do you seriously think the Braves have a bad offense? Do you expect production to have a completely linear distribution or something? How can you say that? The offense completely went to sleep after the second inning. And ****ing Andruw couldn't hit the broad side of a barn.

This is why you get put on ignore lists. (and why I immediately regret using the "view post" feature).
Eminem said:I think I'm done with Brian Anderson. Anyone want one of the best pure center fielders in recent history, who still needs time to develop his hitting, for a real lead-off man?

distantmantra said:Ever since Ichiro came into the league in 2001, Oakland has had the most hostile and unfriendly fan response towards him. They've long since stopped with hurling batteries at him out in the field, but they boo him like crazy, more than any other ballpark in the bigs. What the hell do people in Oakland have against him?

According to Baseball Almanac, 51 minutes.distantmantra said:Seattle and Oakland took less than 80 minutes to get through 7 innings.
Anyone know what's the record for shortest game ever?

EDIT - According to Baseball Almanac, 51 minutes.

This date in Mets history -- April 26: The inexplicable happened on this date during a period of years. Tom Seaver started for the Mets on April 26 in 1970, 1971, 1972 and 1974 -- four times in a span of five years. He won each time, pitched a complete game each time and never walked a batter. His composite pitching line for the four starts was 36 innings, 24 hits, four runs, all earned, no walks and 25 strikeouts. His ERA: 1.00.
