- Eat Farnsworth's money and trade him to the Rockies for a player to be named later.
- Trade Igawa to the Pirates for Salomon Torres or Damaso Marte. Either of those guys becomes the 7th inning guy along w/Joba, Viz is 8th inning, and Mo is closer.
- Now that Teixiera is off the market, do NOT **** with the lineup via trade, unless either of Damon or Abreu can be eliminated in an appropriate fashion. Giambi MUST DH. Melky MUST be starting in the OF every single day, all of the time.
- Do not trade Scott Proctor for Wilson Betemit. Trade prospects for him, though. Wilson Betemit replaces either Cairo or Dougie Alphabet (when he returns) on the bench.
- DO NOT TRADE TYLER CLIPPARD
- DO NOT TRADE HUGHES/JOBA/KENNEDY/HORNE
Dr. Strangelove said:Oh, you didn't know? The Yankees have a farm system full of future hall of famers.
Enron said:Ugh. Why do people keep saying the Braves got jobbed? These guys are all P R O S P E C T S, who, with the exception of Salty, are years away from the majors. Also, the Braves got a pretty good lefthanded reliever in the deal. Those guys straight up will cost you at least a B grade prospect themselves.
bluemax said:1. Why the Rockies? What makes you think they want him?
2. Kei Igawa does not have this kind of value.
3. I agree, the Yankees are pretty good at scoring runs.
4. Wilson Betemit is worth prospects? Sign me up!
5. Hughes is hurt and thus not going anywhere. The other dudes who knows.
Eminem said:yes, trading away your best prospects never hurts anyone. Ask the Yankees about this
Since the All-Star break, Triple-A Las Vegas third baseman Andy LaRoche is batting .431 with nine homers and seven doubles in 15 games for a slugging percentage of 1.091. Over the same period, outfielder Delwyn Young is batting .422 with three homers, nine doubles and a triple in 17 games for a slugging percentage of .734.
Thats good to know. Most probably will be brought up, when they expand the roster. Maybe we'll see Hu too!rc213 said:The Dodgers better not deal for Scott Proctor. What would be the use? Randy Wolf has been shutdown indefinitely when he suffered a setback. They ain't going anywhere with Tomko and Hendrickson as starters.
At Least LaRoche seems to be over his shoulder problems:

You think the Yankees would just eat the 26 million dollar posting fee they paid out for Igawa after half a season? They would certainly really want to pass some of that on to any team he was traded to.captmcblack said:2. Kei Igawa is an inexpensive (only $4m) young pitcher, and left-handed at that. He could easily be valuable to a team hungry for pitching like say...the Pirates. Igawa definitely has value enough to get guys like that. They aren't exactly ace relievers; they just add needed depth. We got Chris Britton, the Orioles' excellent rookie setup man, for Jaret Wright...so it's not impossible. Really, you figure you could do something similar to what the Yankees did getting Esteban Loaiza for Jose Contreras (except Igawa is infinitely cheaper, so it's not a salary dump-type thing).

I'd happily take him. Anything's better than Shawn Green. Griffey is a great player when healthy.Hwasong said:Apparently Rosenthal just reported there are talks with the Mets and the Reds about making Griffey a Metropolitan. :lol

captmcblack said:1. The Rockies have already been reported as interested in Farnsworth, and they do need bullpen help with Fuentes hurt (again). Kyle just has to go somewhere; I don't care what for. Ideally, we'd move him to a NL team so he can't somehow hurt us later. The Rockies showed interest, so...yeah.

4. The Yankees have a wealth of prospects, particularly above-average pitching prospects. They should be used to fill Yankee needs. Wilson Betemit would be nice to have on the bench. I'd move 1 or 2 of our B-level arms/prospects for him. Would that be enough? I dunno...but I'm not talking in terms of that anyway.
5. If the Yankees offered Hughes for almost anyone being moved in this league (within reason; obviously Pujols or something would be :lol), someone would bite - hurt or not. The other guys have potential to be like that or close, too. Like I've said before in this thread...if even 2 of the 8 or so really good pitching prospects the Yankees have pan out to their potential, it's great times for the next decade or so. No more mortgaging the future for the present. Keep the YANKIDS movement going, Cashman!

Ok, so say we get Dye-- what the **** do we do with JD "Sandy Vagina" Drew?
bluemax said:They talked about this on BBTN last night. Platoon was the answer.

I don't think so. I know the deadline isn't until tomorrow, but I don't see how you can't say that the Braves aren't going to be the most improved team after these trades.siamesedreamer said:I'm gonna go ahead and say that Castillo going to the Mets will have more impact than Tex going to the Braves......
the fn article said:The Braves also were said to be talking to the Cincinnati Reds (who dealt Kyle Lohse to the Philadelphia Phillies) about Bronson Arroyo, and the Red Sox were shopping outfielder Wily Mo Pena. The Seattle Mariners would like to add a starter and a reliever, but probably will have to settle for the latter. They were hoping to talk the Florida Marlins into moving Dontrelle Willis, but have had no substantive negotiations.
