he would have blown it.

this shit is stupid. Why I stay up to watch fucking anaheim games i dont know.

We better play well the next 2 games or this team is fucking done for this season

WTF, why didn't Abreu make a better break? Also, how does Henn let a .091 hitter get ahead of him like that? I stayed up till 2am for this shit?

What the hell do we have to do to beat this freaking team?

Score more runs than them.

The guy is an .091 hitter in ELEVEN plate appearances. And you act like it's the easiest thing in the world for a guy to come into a tie game on the road in extra innings and pitch. Come on.

Woah Ani citing...

I read a lot of the OT. I just don't post in it much.

Also, I'm an Angels fan (my first baseball game I went to was when Edmonds was a rookie and JT Snow was on the team [they lost that game]). I've maybe posted once or twice in previous sports threads, but they usually slip my mind.

Well scottnak and I can't talk trash for shit so plz post more! You've probably got seniority on both of us in the Angel fan department from the sound of it.

It's fun when it's against the Yankees. I'm used to the Angels being losers (which hasn't really been true for half a decade now), and then they regularly beat The Best Team in Baseball. The reactions are great.

I think they flashed something on the screen tonight that basically said, between 1995 and now, the Angels are the ONLY team to have a winning record against the Yankees. The next closest, the Red Sox, had more losses than wins. Couple that with how the Angels are playing at home, and it's not hard to predict a win for them while in Anaheim against the Yanks. Now, I'm not sure why that is... Neither team is the same team they were 10 years ago. Superstition, I guess.

just saw the highlights (followed the game from cell phone updates) and W. T. F. were you thinking bobby. i'll give him the benefit of the doubt and say melky didn't call it which in turn i say W. T. F. melky.

Hay guys. Man. I missed an epic thread due to my little trip to Seattle/Vanc.
Anihawk's an Angels fan? Awesome. Epic lacking of trash talk here... haha. Glad you kept the fort up karakand.

Watching some of the New York/LA game tonight at a friend's house, we were commenting back and forth about how annoying a lot of the Angels' players are, from Figgins' ridiculous hot streak to Anderson's overratedness to Willits' paralyzing reluctance to swing the bat to Rodriguez's insufferably theatrical celebration. It seems like every time you look up, the Angels are doing something obnoxious.

Then it dawned on me - the Angels might have a lot of annoying players, but right now, we're the annoying team. I know about Arizona and all that, but at least in the American League, we're the team that seemingly doesn't have a right to be where it is. We're the team that nobody can figure out, the team that no one saw coming and the team whose success by and large remains a mystery, even to us. We're the team with the .500 rotation, a bullpen of nobodies, a big money first baseman hitting .209, and a cleanup hitter with an ugly, awkward swing. Our sexiest bat is a singles hitter who takes annoying to a whole new level, our #2 RBI guy's been with eight teams in nine years, hardly anyone in the lineup can take a walk, and there's been little indication that the GM or field manager are anything other than borderline incompetent. This team is a pest, a pest that refuses to die off despite a trio of extended losing streaks. I talk all the time about how the Angels' maddening success gets on my nerves, but at least it's easy to understand why they are where they are. At the moment, they (and the Yankees) have every right to be perhaps even more annoyed by us. We're that team that no one understands. And I feel a little dirty when I say that I finally get how fun this can be.

Its sad/funny because its true. We've become the thing we hate the most.

Why do Angels haunt my dreams?

It would have been great if Joba was available last night. Shit, Edwar would have been nice but he pitched the last two days.

Just an observation but Michael Kay has used the word auspicious at least twenty times the past two weeks. It was on his word of the day calendar I bet.
