tomorrow off for the yankees, they start a 4 game series in detroit to be followed by boston and tampa at home.

oh, and sheffield isn't going to play in the series. sore at torre. er, i mean, sore shoulder.

With roughly 37 games to go in the season, Bobby Abreu has a line of:

AVG .288 | HR 15 | RBI 87 | OBP .366 | SLG .450

By the end of the season, he could have 20+ HR and 100+ RBI to go with an average close to .300, and his regular high OBP. Way to come back strong, Bobby!

The following batters were victims of Joba Chamberlain as of 8/23/2007:

- Ray Olmedo
- Curtis Thigpen
- Trot Nixon
- Josh Barfield
- Grady Sizemore
- Kenny Lofton
- Miguel Tejada
- Aubrey Huff
- Ivan Rodriguez
- Magglio Ordonez
- Carlos Guillen
- Jeff Mathis
- Orlando Cabrera
- Vladimir Guererro

NOBODY CAN SURVIVE THE CHAMBERLAIN DYNASTY.

Hey guys, sorry if this has been already discussed. Thoughts on the all-time Rawlings Gold Glove team?:

All-time Rawlings Gold Glove team (Gold Gloves)

C Johnny Bench (10)
1B Wes Parker (6)
2B Joe Morgan (5)
SS Ozzie Smith (13)
3B Brooks Robinson (16)
OF Willie Mays (12)
OF Roberto Clemente (12)
OF Ken Griffey Jr. (10)
P Greg Maddux (16)

Morgan ahead of Alomar is a complete and utter joke...and I'm not even getting into Robbie winning twice as many gold gloves.

Hard to really argue with a list of which I only saw 3 of those players playing during their career (Ozzie, Griffey and vaguely Bench).

But yea, I think Robbie Alomar would be a great pick for 2b. He was amazing.

If Moose doesn't pitch well Monday he's probably out of the rotation it seems.

UPDATE, 10:39 p.m.: Joe Torre met with Mike Mussina today for seven minutes. Mussina will start against the Tigers on Monday. But there seem to be no guarantees beyond that.”

“We’ll see Monday,” Torre said. “We chatted. His arm feels so good and that’s what frustrating for him. We need for him to do more than he did (Tuesday) night. It’s a letdown for him and for us.”

Torre was asked what would happen if Mussina pitched poorly again.

“We’re going to talk,” he said. “No question.”

Fuck out of here w/this :o
Moose has to throw those games, at least until the postseason where the rotation can be 4 pitchers.

Who are we going to throw out there? Joba? Are we going to start Ian Kennedy's arbitration clock already and throw him to the wolves? Are we going to call up Ty Clippard or something again? Gotta get Moose going, is all.

You talk as if the postseason is a given at this point.

innings limit i think

Well that's too bad. Apparantly Buster Olney said on ESPN they could use either Stephen White or Kei Igawa. So, uhh, maybe just stick with Moose

I'm trying to watch the indians game on sopcast but I keep getting a "This channel is offline error."

:(

i wanna watch the indiansssssss

What about the awesome force that is Jeff Karstens? Edwin Ramirez? Or here's a thought; using Joba as what he's supposed to do, START?

Looks like the Doyers blew their load yesterday and won't score any runs today. 4 LOB already!

What in the name of all that is holy is Shea doing at 1st and Mamon Martinez doing at 3rd. Littlemind must have been scared by all runs he decides to sit Ethier and Loney, WOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!

I heard that the Cubs picked up Craig Monroe for a PTBNL. Could be an interesting pickup for them, as the guy has some serious power (He hit 5 HR's in the post-season last year).

Pierre sucks donkey dick on defense.

Dodgers get 6 walks off a guy with a 6+ ERA and score 1 damn fucking run! Thanks to automatic outs in HiLOLbrand, Martinez and Gonezo.

2-1 Loss

Why are they not pinch hitting for Billingsley?!??!

BLOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOP!

Ooooh, Looked like Pierre jammed a finger on the steal attempt. Hopefully leaving Bills in another inning doesn't bite Littlemind on the ass. Pierre's pinky was pointing in the wrong direction, EWW! Werth is enjoying himself while he terrorizes the Dodgers.

Gonezo defense!

Yea, they are saying Sheff might be done for the season. Not sure yet.

The Tigers are 15-22 since he blasted Torre and now he might be done for the season as well....how long until Sheffield wears out his welcome in Detroit?

Fuck you Gonzo!!!!!!!!!!! nice DP!

Edit: Ramon!!!!!!! OH BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Gonezo is batting like .230 after the break and Ethier is batting like .360 after the break.

Yet Ethier can't find himself a everyday job in left field.

If Gonzo a team player he would ask that Ethier start ahead him old ass.

Dodgers done their job! now its your turn Mets!

Could've had the sweep if Tomko was a half way decent starter. =C

Doh, didn't even realize we were playing right now! Nice to see Bills finally get that 8th win.. kid has been dynamite lately -- seriously, who loses consecutive 1-0 decisions? Ouch. 2 more K's for Saito today.. dominant. I like how Russell had a Bondsian 0-0 day with 4 walks btw. :lol

[new] Today's fun fact:

In his last 46 games (178 plate appearances), Reggie Willits is batting .226/.326/.243. His BB/K of 0.54 is down substantially from the 1.24 it was beforehand.

So, throw Reggie Willits strikes and he'll get himself out!

Someone should bean him on the head and wipe that stupid smirk off his face. Every time I see him on TV I want to punch the TV.

Saito and Broxton!!!!!!! Woot!
Mets fans everywhere thank you and your team for its assistance in repelling the Philly menace. We look to reciprocate tonight w/ Glavine vs. Germano.

CarLOLs Zambrano gives up a bomb to Matt Cain. :lol

Dodgers close to signing David Wells, Possibly starts Sunday at Shea against the Mets.=|
