For me it's the runs.

EDIT - Delgado needs to stop swinging at those low and in balls.

Delgado just needs to stop swinging. Period. Its pretty embarassing.

OF Ken Griffey Jr. (10)

Ken Griffey Jr. over Al Kaline? Was Junior really that good of a fielder? I never remember him being great enough to make this list.

What?

Umm.. huh? Griff's the best fielder this side of the past few decades. Guy was absolutely INSANE pre-injury.

I guess so. I just dont have any memory of it since I was like 5 years old.

But Al Kaline I remember like yesterday. :p

Griffey was an awesome fielder.

There's a ridiculous amount of hyperbole in sports, but saying Griffey would have been one of the all-time 10 baseball greats had he stayed healthy is a total truth.

People don't really realize it, but the Cleveland Indians have the best 3 starters in baseball right now.

For the month of August: Sabathia, Carmona and Westbrook have combined for
a 2.11 ERA, a 0.95 WHIP, and 3 times as many K as BB over their 13 starts.

Westbrook? Really? He flew under the radar, wow.

Well, at least you guys don't have Mike Mussina. That guy is our secret weapon.

It's not just a fluke .. he has "found" his sinkerball again.

In his last 5 games he has given up 0 runs twice, 1 run twice and then gave up 4 runs to the Yanks (who got those runs from 2 HR's).

He's gone 4-1 during that stretch. He still has 7 more starts left and could be a good pickup in a fantasy league.

Even Mariners fans don't necessarily believe he was an awesome fielder.

I'd like to meet these so-called Mariners' fans. Griffey was amazing. If it wasn't for the injuries.. Why can't those things happen to people who deserve.. like Mr. Bonds..

I'm sure bluemax has 6 or 7 of those statistics with obtuse acronyms to trot out in attack of Mr. Griffey.

Not off hand. But I swear I've read some stuff where people discussed his ability as a defender. Honestly in my mind he's probably only the third best CFer in Seattle Mariners history. I'd put Ichiro and Cameron ahead of him defensively.

On that Rawlings list they have Jeter as the second best defensive SS of all-time.

:lol :lol
bobo gold gloves

karakand, please define here whether or not you are being serious when mocking funnily named statistics. i need to know if i like you or not.

I'm just playing to the "Angels fans don't know dick about baseball and love shitty players like Spiezio" stereotype. I don't go gaga studying the sabremetric stuff but I don't discount its worth, either.

I saw a guy at the USC scrimmage who had looked like Player A. I kinda wanted to punch him.

YANKEES DFA MUSSINA

j/k I hope we don't re-sign Wickman. He is too beat up to trust on our team.
I wouldn't mind taking a chance on him next year, once he rests up and loses a few lbs.

Nice going Mets, Way to help Penny out. His last few starts, He has 1 inning where is completely wild and somehow has gotten away with it.

its fred couples you pervs.

OMG WICKMAN CUT AH HAHAHAHAHAHAHAA

FUCK YOU FAT BOB, CHOKE ON A TWINKIE AND DIE

This is the happiest day of the season for me.

Bah, Game was lost in the 1st inning when they had Perez on the ropes. Like usual for Dodgers games, They can never deliver the knockout blow early. Turned out to be a nice pitchers duel, After the 1st I thought it could have turned into a blowout either way.

O-FFENSE?!?!?!?!?!

I dunno, I have a feeling Griffey had a case of Jim Edmonditis, albeit not as bad. He was good but I think overrated a bit.

Plus everyone knows Gold Glove's are an award for offense more than defense.

So one of the best Pinch Hitters in Mark Sweeney doesn't get the shot with the bases loaded?

Proctor should just stay in N.Y., What a bum!

He's turned into a Bum ever since he gave up back to back 2 run bombs in consecutive appearances.

Nice job standing there like an idiot Ethier. Fuck this shit, I am no longer praising anyone on this team. Every time I do they go the next day and look like complete retards.
