Man, I liked Phil Garner. Bone-bone.

I like him as a person, but honestly he goes on hunches too much. Also his knack for falling in love with certain players and playing them no matter what, even if they are in 3 year slumps, made him a bad manager.

Screw that. It is a good stadium. A short porch in the left field, but every other place in the stadium, you have to be a real man to hit it out.

just so you guys know Josh Fields is a beast

Had he played all year he'd have 40 and 100. Finally a White Sox position prospect is as good as advertised

:lol

Coming from a fan of a team that plays in a shit hole for a ballpark.

Also I'm happy with this news...

B-G-O AND BAGS FOR MANAGERS!

At least all the homers at shea are well earned, unlike you piece of shit bandbox stadium.

Minute Maid is fine, except for the stupid fucking hill. A lot of stadiums have short porches. It's that goddamn hill that makes it a bad baseball field.

Imagine how good he'll be when he can post a .300 OBP :D

Valid point, but it's his rookie year, and he was supposed to be a pure power hitter. The fact that he's been mashing balls all year is good enough for me. I'm assuming he's going to gain plate discipline with time. And even if he doesn't, I have no problem with having an Adam Dunn at third base, only with great defense.

The only real problem is now we have to do something with Crede, and that is very depressing =(

Hey, I'm just saying the park was poorly designed for the team in place. Could've chopped 20 ft from center and added it to left field.

After years of dealing with the Astrodome I think us Houston fans deserve a short porch.

And shit balls hit deep to center that should be hrs in other ballparks are long fly outs/sometimes triples in Minute Maid.

I just find it f-ing hilarious that Mets fans are dissing other stadiums when Shea f-ing awful.

It's only about 5-10 feet less than other parks. I don't see why everyone makes a big deal about the Crawford boxes, and as you said it's very hard to hit it out int he gaps and to dead center.

This is pretty sad :lol all us Houston fans are coming out of the shame closet to post cause of the firings and to defend our ballpark.

What an awful year :(

Thats going to end after 2008. Citi Park will own.

If I was the commish every pre-1970 ballpark would be re-designed so the lines would be at least 328, with minimum wall heights for bandbox stadiums.

And yes Matrix, it is sad. It's the uneveness I'm killing, not the porch. As for Shea, it's a pitchers park. Nothing awful about the dimensions.

I can think of five or six worse starts in a row by Jeff Weaver earlier this season. But saying Mussina is better than Jeff Weaver isn't saying anything, really.

Though Dunn strikes out a lot and has low AVGs, his OBP is typically ~.385 along with his retarded HR power. For that guy to become Dunn he NEEDS plate discipline.

I assume the Yankees are just tossing all their bad pitchers out there now so they're not tempted to use them during the Red Sox series?

Exactly. Then it'll be T-CLIP FUTURE/RAMIREZ FUTURE/*insert hyped pitcher* FUTURE all over Boston. Fear your fate, Strangeglove. :D

Frankman, you pushed mike pelfrey for like four starts.

In other news, a Red Sox troll is causing the Holier than Thou self-righteous losers at nyyfans to meltdown :lol

I said he'd also take a year to get his head in the game. Then I pushed The Curse Of Mike Pelfrey after it was apparent the Mets were dogging in his starts. It's still current until Mike wins a start.

do any Met fans miss Benny Agbayani?

I miss his crazy Hawaiin antics of throwing the ball into the crowd with 2 outs. And when they would play 'Benny and the Mets' on the speaker whenever he got up.
