Y'know, I look at tonight's game and I wonder what it will take for Mota to be DFA'd. I've led a campaign for his dismissal the minute he joined the Mets; the guy is Armando Benitez lite. All the fixing talk is crap, it's simple with him: he falls in love with his change and when he does throw the fastball he has the aim of a blind porn star. I am tired of that fugazi, #1 Slapfighting champion blowing leads for Glavine (I count 3 of 4 so far this year). I can't blame Heilman being sabotaged by LoDuca crappy throw, Reyes/Castillo not stopping the ball in the 8th, and a 20 ft. swinging bunt that for the grace of rigged groundskeeping stayed fair. But Mota? Tell me there wasn't a man who didn't believe he'd lose the game and I'll show you an idiot. It's starting to be frickin' WIC in here and I can't take that crap.

The Phillies? Seriously? Jesus. Mota for Kyle Farnsworth + Yanks pay 1/2 Farnsworth's salary.

The second base umpire should not be allowed to leave Safeco Field alive. Matthews was dead meat, there's no way you could fuck that call up, yet he did.

Related: Jeff at Lookout Landing can bitch about the fine folks of Orange County and claim they don't deserve any kind of sports success but at the end of the day this is just a smoke screen fans of losers throw up because they'd rather not face the truth. It really doesn't surprise me that he's a Canadian hockey team fan, since they're probably the greatest purveyors of the callow "bu-bu-bu-but it's not fair they have a good team!!!" mentality.
 
Have to give the Yankees credit, from Aug. 10 until now they have played some of the best teams in the AL and have went 10-8. So even if they drop two to the Sox, they have went .500 over this difficult stretch.

To be fair the crew at LL including Jeff and myself, think that pretty much all Mariner fans are among the worst in sports

Who'd have ever thought that in 2007, going to war for a playoff spot and in a pennant race, the Yankees would be fielding rookies!

Chamberlain, Hughes, Kennedy, Ramirez, Duncan...all rooks, and all fighting with everything they have to push things forward. This truly is YANKIDS FUTURE time. I fully support it, too.

I hope Ian Kennedy is everything he is hyped to be. I hope Hughes keeps working out his rookie kinks and reaches the potential he has shown just about every time he's picked up a ball this year. I hope Chamberlain keeps dominating and I hope Ramirez keeps showing he's no fluke. I hope Duncan keeps smashing hits in the clutch. For the other youngsters - Wang, Cano, Cabrera, and even Betemit, I hope they keep doing well. The vets - Jeter, A-Rod, Posada, Giambi, Damon, Clemens, Pettitte, Rivera and the others - they will do well to educate everyone.

Trial by fire; gotta love baseball!
