Why do the Dodgers keep picking up rejects like Proctor and Oldberto? Is their farm system that bad?

EDIT: GARKO TIES UP THE GAME. K-ROD BLOWS A SAVE.

Uhmmm, Proctor got the double-play ground ball which was then bobbled by Furcal and his thousand errors at SS. Just like that it went from a 1-2-3 inning to a 3 run inning.

As for Oldberto, No one know why he is still here or why he ever came here in the first place. They had Jonathan Meloan in AAA who was doing pretty well but never brought him up until the Sept. call ups.

It's time for the Chin-Lung Hu era and out with the old garbage like Furcal.

Thank God they got Scot Shields out of there. Hopefully Scot Shields can do better than Scot Shields did.

Mathis' Grit Over Replacement Player statistic keeps on plummeting...

Unrelated: You're probably out partying Adam Blade but I just heard UCI lost their baseball coach to CSUF. Sucks to hear, bro. You guys lost Savage to us and then the coach of the year in the same decade.

Woooooooooooooooooooo!! What a game.
Stoked with GAs hotness and fear-itude!
Glad to see Shields is back to his normal self...

.... SONUVA... NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO! -_-

Yeah, it was pretty random. CSUF's coach got lured to Oregon to resuscitate their program (translation: Nike gave him lots and lots and lots of money.) and they had to scramble to get somebody.

If you were at the game tonight you can tell your grandkids that you were present when Garret Anderson was intentionally walked THREE times.
:lol

If you are John lackey, you are crying for a stat that calculates WINS as adding games that wound up as blown saves. Will our October bullpen combo be Oliver in the 8th and Speier in the 9th? Is it too late for a re-do on the Kevin Gregg trade?
;_;

I saw him get #12, and came back at the bottom of the ninth. Still. Wow.

Yeah, it sounds pretty bad news bears unfortunately.

Serrano said it remained up in the air who his assistants would be, but that his first obligation is to his two assistants at UC Irvine, Sergio Brown and Greg Bergeron. He said he was informed that Irvine is going to conduct a national coaching search, but he hopes Brown or Bergeron is a candidate for the job. If both assistants decide they want to follow Serrano to Fullerton, and Vanderhook decides he wants to remain as well, Serrano will have to choose between the three coaches for two spots.

Serrano also confirmed that uncertainty surrounding UC Irvine’s commitment to athletics played a significant role in his decision to leave. UC Irvine’s previous athletics director, Bob Chichester, cited budget cuts and a lack of commitment to athletics by Chancellor Michael V. Drake as reasons for resigning in August. UCI is in the midst of a search for Chichester’s replacement, but no hire is expected for at least another month, according to Serrano.

“I wish I had a crystal ball to look into the future and see how everything’s going to play out with the administration and their total commitment to athletics over there,” Serrano said. “I couldn’t take that chance, knowing there’s a job in hand with an athletics director in place that wanted me to take that program into the future. The changing of the guard over there really put the fear of God into me.”

Didn't even realize they had played, Damn WOWhawk...

Damn Shea HiLOLbrand with a boneheaded error.

Dice-K with another classic meltdown, I wonder if he'll even make a start in the playoffs at this point.

EDIT: One man too late, Tito, don't you think.....

:lol arod just isn't playing fair right now... i hope he makes a run for 62. and he just set the record for most HR's by a 3B (49).

and i'm completely lost on this joke with the bullpen and the shoulder turns, someone fill me in?

this is the third time alex rodriguez has gone over 50 homers in a season, making him the fourth player to do it that many times. babe ruth, mark mcguire, and sammy sosa are the other three (they've all done it four times).

the interesting thing in this monster season that he's having is that last year, i thought it was time to trade him simply for his own good. the media and fans were killing him, and it didn't look like he was handling it well. and now with this year, the concern is whether or not the yankees will even be able to keep him!

Indians about to win a MUST WIN game. The Hefty Lefty shuts down the Angels for his 17th win, 4th complete game. 10 straight games where he has given up 2 runs or less.

GA denied.
