So I haven't played baseball in... well forever. (I pretty much quit cold turkey when I stopped with little league.) Anyways, I just tried out the baseball section of Wii Sports and god damn I'm feeling like I've denied myself something wonderful for so long. I was leaning towards getting the PSDeuce version of Power Pro Baseball but now I'm starting to think I'd enjoy the Wii version 10 billion times more with the waggle.

That and I guess I should go find out if there's an intramural league at my college. I'm sure my fielding (which was never my strong suit) is even more terrible than my hitting. :lol

Where do you go to college?

Ahh man. Same here. Didn't play much, but boy was it fun. (Bah! But totally got screwed by an ump in the last game that would make or break our team getting into the playoffs. Sob story!) I was a pretty crap player though. I think... haha.

Baseball Wii Sports was pretty damn satisfying though... Haven't played it in a while... Hmm.

How do intramurals work anyway (pretty lazy about finding info and such... haha)

err... and to keep on topic. Woo... santana!

My only real asset as a player was that I could switch hit. That kept me around a lot longer than I should have been. :lol

At UCLA the recreation department organizes intramurals. When I lived on campus there'd occasionally be "unofficial" intramurals "organized" through the RAs and resident associations for each building that almost always turned nasty. (Flag football in name only FTW!)

This reminds me that I need to dust off my old copy of Baseball Mogul and give it a spin this weekend.

I love playing the older versions because it's hilarious to watch it all play out to 2007 and see what it gets right/wrong.

Former Philadelphia Phillies general manager Ed Wade is the new general manager in Houston, sources said Thursday.

ALT HERE

Wade
Wade was in Houston on Thursday. Indications earlier in the day were that while club president Tal Smith apparently had recommended Wade, owner Drayton McLane hadn't made up his mind yet.

By Thursday afternoon, his mind was made up. The Astros have called a 4 p.m. ET news conference.

:lol Good luck with that.

Frankman, what are you going to do with all your upcoming free time?
Not worried then and I'm not worried now. Even by the miraculous chance the Yanks make the playoffs I still have the Gaming Board to post on and will enjoy another Yakquis el foldo in the first round by the hands of the Los Angeles Angels Township of Anaheim Southern Baptist Province Down By The River.

If the Yanks are 8.5 out of the WC and 11 back next year on July 9, dysfunctional and playing like ass like they were this year I'll do the same bet. Remember, I still had nothing to lose and only took the bet because someone couldn't keep their mouth shut about "OMG THE INJUSTICE! YANKEENATION WILL NOT TOLERATE THIS TRANSGRESSION!!!" but didn't have the sack to bet me himself. It was no lose for me, my only regret is I won't be around in the NBA thread, but the season will still be going when I'm back.

EDIT: oh yeah, how's B-Joke Future working out for the G-Men now?

My German history is a little spotty but I'm pretty sure Franconia (the place the founders of Anaheim came from) was a Roman Catholic stronghold.

edit: lulz, Franconia! Talk about synchronicity.

Roman Catholic? Wow. Is there any religious imprint on the city left?

We have intramural softball at USC and its the shittiest shit ever. I can't wait to graduate so I can join a rec league where they play by a rule set not pulled from an elementary school.

The PS3 version has to be my most played game this year.

PSP version was mine. I'm trying to get a job working on the game I love it so much.

One of my close friends in high school was Vietnamese and we used to eat at this awesome Pho place in Little Saigon all the time (shame I can't remember the name anymore). There was this one Anglo that was totally ex-CIA that would constantly frequent the joint and spoke perfect Vietnamese. He was pretty creepy, especially with all the tattoos.

I bet he hates Santana pitching on the road too.
Gotta keep it on-topic!

Frankman that is some fucked up logic
Leave it to a Yankee fan to say that. But seriously, what part is 'f'ed up'? Me not losing anything or mcblack playing Don King?

Moises Alou ties Mets single-season hitting streak record at 24 w/ 2-run double in first.

Mets - 2
Fish - 0
Bot 1st

How exactly do you not lose anything? You can't post in the OT for almost a year.

Regardless of whether or not you want to, that's not the definition of "no lose."

No lose is where you don't lose if you lose.

...you still lose.

Wells is being shut down for the season and is going to have surgery to fix a torn labrum and remove a cyst from his shoulder. I don't know why the hell we waited this long, hopefully he hasn't screwed up his shoulder too bad seeing as we still owe him like 127 million dollars.

meh...it's not happening...don't delude yourself any longer :(

btw, were was this Bennet guy that's pitching for them tonight during the season?
8k's, 1 run through 5 innings....better than anyone out of the 3/4/5 spot
