Feel free to keep looking through the others.. I have no need to. One of the most well known Orlando Magic writers in the state wrote it and therefore it's gospel as far as I'm concerned. The burden of proof is on YOU to find otherwise. But then why would you want your hero to be cast in a negative light...

ya, you have no sense if you think I view Donovan as some hero who cant be cast in a negative light. Have you even looked at my avatar. I'm as disturbed as the next person about the situation, but I'm certainly not going to go around calling into question his character until he speaks on the matter. If other coaches will vouch for his character and his decision, then I'll go with that. Andy Katz, one of Donovan's closest friends, vouches for his actions so that is good enough for me.
 
I am getting pissed about this LeBron dunking on Duncan pic. You know where that happened? In the second game of the year and it made the score 5-4 Spurs... Duncan is being SO DISRESPECTED in this series. Lord, also in a clostout game James went 3/11 FG... 3/11 IN A CONFERENCE FINALS!!

You can trust him because he was the one who suggested the clause that would put him out of the NBA for 5 years. That alone is a serious commitment to make. It is a commitment to both the NBA and UF that he isn't going anywhere, and it was his idea. And really, at the end of it all, who needs to trust him beyond UF. He has basically sealed his fate that he will be UF's coach till he retires at this point by your logic.

I'd love to see where Pitino said it was mistake (good luck finding that).

Sorry but that is silly. Put himself out of the NBA for 5 years.. it would be at least 3 years before teams even think about approaching him again.. it is a sad attempt to look classy after a classless move on his part....

The magic have more young talent, but the Kings front office is one of the best. I'm guessing it was that and money.

SVG already pretty much singed with the Kings because Billy D was lined up.. I think he didn't want to go back on his word as well.. also this gets him out of Florida and away from Pat Riley...

CLEVELAND -- Gov. Ted Strickland wants state transportation officials to back off any threat of removing a 10-story banner featuring Cavaliers star LeBron James.

The massive banner -- an ad for shoemaker Nike Inc. -- hangs on the side of a building near Quicken Loans Arena, and violates federal highway beautification standards, said Lindsay Komlanc, a spokeswoman for the Ohio Department of Transportation.

Strickland said the state should make allowances for art.

"I'd say it's an impressive, emotive display, and I would consider it art. So I've asked ODOT to cease any efforts to seek removal of the sign," Strickland said Wednesday, when he made a trip to the city.

The Cavaliers play the San Antonio Spurs in Game 1 of the NBA Finals Thursday night.

Komlanc said the banner is too big -- federal rules require it to be under 1,200-square feet. The state agency must enforce the guidelines or risk losing 10 percent of federal highway funding, which is about $130 million a year for Ohio, she said.

oh looks like SVG will be the Magic's head coach

Looks like the Orlando Magic have gotten over Billy Donovan pretty quickly.

Just hours after coming to a final agreement that released the once and again Florida coach from his 5-year, $27.5 million deal in Orlando, the Magic signed Stan Van Gundy after reaching a compensation agreement with his former team, the Miami Heat, the Orlando Sentinel reported on its web site early Thursday. The Sentinel did not cite any sources in its report.

An official announcement is likely to come Thursday afternoon, the newspaper reported.

The hiring also comes on the heels of reports that Van Gundy was in Sacramento on Wednesday to consider the Kings' offer to become their head coach.

There were no indications what compensation package was reached between Orlando and Miami, but Van Gundy has been employed by the Heat since he was replaced by Pat Riley as coach in December 2005. Van Gundy's contract as a consultant had one year remaining.
