I think Amare is dumb for calling out the Spurs. Yeah Bowen is dirty but keep that shit in-house or go to the NBA. Don't put it in the media.

Manu has done shit all playoffs and now you wanna piss him off?

Screw that. Bowen should be suspended. It doesn't matter that he does good stuff off the court. He's a dirty player and a cheat on the court. And that deserves punishment. I don't agree with Amare's comments about the other players though. They just don't have the reputations and track records of Bowen.

Although the lack of a post presence is really killing some teams nowadays.

It's frustrating. Teams like the Mavs and Bulls have known that they need a post presence yet they never addressed the need.

And I believe the Bulls traded away two post players.

going back further, trading away brand was the original sin.

I agree. You only have so many chances to win a championship. They should have made a move this February, shipping off PJ Brown and some of their young guys to get Gasol. Just a complete joke. You can't just hoard good players. You need at least one stud and a dominate post presence. They have Gordon and Wallace. They aren't winning with that combo.

Ok. so Pistons in 5 :lol
never been happier to be wrong.

after the stones were doubled up at half time, I figured that if they somehow won Game 3 the series would be over. I just don't see Chicago winning another game this year. That kind of loss will just crush your morale.

the bulls also had bad luck with another duke player when jay williams effectively ended his career when he crashed on his motorcycle. they ended up getting hinrich and duhon to shore up their point guard situation, but williams had the potential to be a special player.

I agree

I was a huge fan of Jay Williams. I was proud to be at his "break out" game a few years ago. He had his first (only?) career triple double against the Nets. I thought it would be the beginning of something special. Turns out it was the end.

They could sure use elton brand/develop chandler further

I think the Bulls could definitely use an Elton Brand. But Chandler? He would not be helping them in this series. Just like Ben Wallace, he would never follow Rasheed Wallace outside of the paint. Chandler's basketball I.Q. is more or less the same as Forest Gump's I.Q.

I just woke up...what happened? ****ITY-****!

This man speaks the truth.

Chandler wasn't a good fit in Chicago as he wasn't properly used and/or given enough playing time on a consistant basis. Curry...the jury is still out on this one. Sometimes he shines and other times it looks like PAX made the absolute right move. Oh please let the Knicks get the #1 pick!

A little late and a little drunk...

Gooooooooooooo Pistons! Talk about exciting basketball. <.<

I hope Bruce Bowen develops a third arm so he'll be disqualified from future playoff basketball.

tomorrow is the a big game for the Jazz. Win this (not likely, but why not? It could happen) and the series is over.

BTW, how stupid is it that the Spurs/Suns playoff is so drawn out! Jazz/GS play every other day!!

The only way I see you guys winning is if Baron plays more then 43 minutes. If Monta actually comes in and does what he did during the season, no way you guys stand a chance in Oaktown.

We will see, either way, there is going to be some high-five receiving or giving tomorrow or Sunday!

BTW, I think it is funny that, of the ESPN "Experts", 3 of them have the Warriors winning the series in 6 games, Another has GS in 7 (the only plausible Warriors win situation at this point, imo). I think that only Anthony, who picked the Jazz in 6, or Broussard, who has the Warriors in 7, will come out looking good.

I, personally, hope the Jazz sweep them. I am a huge fan of underdogs, but not when they are playing my team, getting all the press and all the nods from broadcasters and fans alike. I would like nothing more, for that reason, for the underdog (Utah at the start of the series :)) to win. Nobody thought they would beat Houston and most thought that GS was going to beat them, too. But we shall see. :)

So if anyone needs me, I'm going to be hanging myself

I really disagree with this, though. Come on, our core is still young. A week ago everyone was saying how good and up and coming the Bulls were....now it's "they should have traded their future for a big name."
I don't agree at all. Ben is expendable IMO, but the rest of the core needs to stay for this team to succeed in the future.

Man Bowen is a real piece of shit. I hate the Suns but I wouldn't mind seeing SA go out 4-1 after seeing that.

I wonder how much stuff like that factors into a guys head when Bowen is guarding him? It's probably not hard to be a great defender when the guy you're guarding is worrying about whether or not Bowens foot will be conveniently placed under him during any jumpshot, not to mention kicks to the back, jumpkicks to the face and now attacks on your achilles tendon :lol

Yeah, I don't blame Amare for saying all that. Anybody in the regular season remember when Ginobili drove to the basket and kicked Amare's balls, and Kevin Harlan went...

"OH EVERY MAN IN AMERICA JUST FELT THAT ONE!"

:lol awesome video.

And Em-- Big Ben may be expendable but nobody's gonna take that contract for a 34 year old guy who can't make a free throw. I love Ben Wallace, but at the end of the day the only reason he left Detroit is cuz he was always a nobody and finally had a shot at a huge payday. Chicago gave it to him.

The bitch of all this is that Chicago would probably take Cleveland in a series, but they're getting throttled by the Pistons so nobody cares.

So far all the teams that are winning have excellent Point Guards that can control the floor.

I guess the one exception is Cleveland but James is pretty much a Point Forward.

Ever since moving Hughes to Point and adding Pavlovic to the starting lineup Cleveland is 27-8.

He left because he didn't like Flip's style of play, which tended to expose his offensive problems. Ben has never struck me as the type to do anything just for the money.

The Pistons are tearing it up right now, but I doubt they stand a chance against the Spurs in the finals this year. Webber is definitely an offensive upgrade, but we all know he disappears when it matters most.

I wouldn't say that he disappears...in fact, he appears when he shouldn't!

Stoudemire says Bowen tried to injure him in Game 2

PHOENIX -- Phoenix All-Star Amare Stoudemire says the San Antonio Spurs are a "dirty team" and that Bruce Bowen tried to hurt him, nasty accusations sure to intensify the playoff series between two of the best teams in the NBA.

"He kicked me purposely in the back of my Achilles. I almost came down wrong and he almost caused an injury," Stoudemire said after Thursday's practice. "He's known for doing that. I just hope the NBA and the commissioner take a look at that because it's definitely a dirty play."

The Suns' center, selected to the all-NBA first team Thursday, didn't stop there.

"I think the Spurs are a dirty team," he said. "I mean, (Manu) Ginobili during the regular season kneed me in the crotch on purpose. I just hope the league takes a look at it and cleans the game up a little bit."

The Spurs, who host the Suns in Game 3 of the Western Conference semifinals on Saturday, had finished practice in San Antonio and the players were gone when Stoudemire made his accusations. Tom James, director of media services, said the Spurs had no comment.

The play that led to Stoudemire's charges came in the third quarter of Phoenix's 101-81 victory in Game 2 on Tuesday night, when he was going up for an open dunk. The victory evened the best-of-seven series 1-1.

Stoudemire said he didn't know at the time if the kick was on purpose, but decided after viewing replays that it was.

"When I saw the replay and reviewed it three or four times, there was no doubt about it," he said. "It was a purpose kick to the Achilles' and he definitely tried to injure me."

Stoudemire's feelings were heightened by the fact that he missed all but three games last season while recovering from two knee surgeries.

"I was actually very, very, very upset," he said. "Me personally from last year, having to sit out the whole season because of injuries. And for a guy like Bruce Bowen, who is a two-time champion, he should have more class than that, should understand what it takes to be a professional."

A video on YouTube appears to show Bowen, an NBA all-defensive team selection, kicking Stoudemire's leg from behind.

Stoudemire said he didn't react at the time because he didn't want a suspension or a technical foul that would hurt his team.

"I know it's the playoffs. I understand a hard foul," Stoudemire said. "But that wasn't a hard foul at all. That was just a purpose kick trying to injure someone."

No foul was called on the play.

Stoudemire said the Achilles' was initially sore but was fine during practice. Both teams took the day off on Wednesday.

During the regular season, the New York Knicks' Steve Francis was injured when he stepped on Bowen's foot.

When the teams met again in San Antonio, Knicks coach Isiah Thomas drew a technical foul when he shouted something at Bowen when New York's Jamal Crawford nearly landed on the Spurs' player's foot.

"I thought Jamal went up to take the shot and as he was coming down, Bruce's foot was under him," Thomas said after that game. "And if he were to come down on his foot, he could have broken his ankle or sprained his ankle and he would have been out, just like Francis."

In March of 2006, Bowen was fined $10,000 by the NBA for kicking Seattle's Ray Allen in the back.

Suns coach Mike D'Antoni downplayed the incident involving Stoudemire.

"The league's going to look at it and they're going to examine past tendencies and stuff," he said. "I have no idea what Bruce Bowen does. I don't really care. I don't want to get into it because it's so minimal that it's no big deal. It really isn't."

Raja Bell, also an all-defensive team selection, said he doesn't like to use the words "dirty player."

"I haven't seen the play," he said. "Dirty is not a word I like to use about anybody. They play hard, their physical. It's a physical time of year, but I didn't get kicked. Amare has the right to feel the way he wants to feel."

wow. **** the spurs. they bore people into switching the channel so bowen can injure players under the radar.

I never even heard about Bowen being a dirty player, but looking at that, plus other stuff, it looks like this guy needs to be corralled and talked to buy the League

Haha, I actually meant Ben Gordon. Yeah, he was our leading scorer, but he's as likely to go 4-18 with 10 points as he is to light it up. I'd take a consistant 15 point scorer who can play a little better D.

I know we're stuck with Wallace for the long haul. Good thing he has such a tiny contract.
