I've been using this nickname (on this forum no less) before Bron Bron even graduated from the 8th grade. He still was only 25 at the time.

I didn't say you otherwise. I just found it ironic.

People are still mad the Pistons destroyed the Lakers dynasty
Sorry, but that was the Spurs blowing them out at Staples by 28 points, ending the 3-peat and leaving half the team crying. The Pistons just gave them the final blow. Spurs destroyed them. :D

Anyway, here´s a great post from SpursReport.com that shows one of the reasons why I hate Amare...

Almost from the git go in this series, Amare has proven himself, with his choice of words, to be a child, without the maturity needed to know what to say and what not to say. He has shown a propensity to stick his foot in his mouth, and come off sounding like a weak willed whiner. I'm reminded of the saying, "Children should be seen, not heard."

Well, let's see what we can gather of Amare Stoudemire's character from observing about 30 seconds worth of his actions at the end of Game 6:

The buzzer sounds. The game is over. The Suns have lost and are eliminated from the 2006 playoffs.
IMG_0203.jpg

Amare looks on as the other Suns players on the court begin congratulating the Spurs.
IMG_0204.jpg

Amare doesn't join his fellow Suns in congratulating the Spurs.
IMG_0205.jpg

Barbosa has no such qualms. Nash is still in shock.
IMG_0207.jpg

As the media moves in, the rest of the Suns team walks from the bench to give their congratulations to the Spurs. Amare turns...
IMG_0208.jpg

And begins to walk away.
IMG_0209.jpg

Notice that Bowen is the first Spur to shake hands with the Suns reserves.
IMG_0210.jpg

The Suns reserves understand the concept of sportsmanship.
IMG_0211.jpg

A concept Amare is apparently lacking, as he shows by walking off the court without shaking a single hand.
IMG_0212.jpg

A walk of shame in more ways than one.
IMG_0213.jpg

Meanwhile every other individual involved in this series spends their time congratulating each other. While Amare is no where to be found here,
IMG_0215.jpg

or here,
IMG_0216.jpg

or here.
IMG_0217.jpg

Remember the old picture book game, Where's Waldo? Well I have a new one for you. While every other Sun is busy being a good sport about their loss, Where's Amare?
IMG_0220copy.jpg

No class. James Jones did the exact same thing.

Meanwhile, ESPN can write this type of shit(http://espn.go.com/) all they want, it only tastes even sweeter to make them suffer.

Congratulation Spurs and Spurs fans... all of you have endured the hate made for champions, just like the jazz felt after getting by the Rockets and then the Gaf favorite warriorsXXXXXXX..

The Utah Jazz are not champions.

who the hell cares if amare didnt shake hands. did he go into the locker room or the press conference and bad mouth them? he was pissed they lost...and if he really couldn't handle the fact that they lost he has the right to just quietly walk away.

i really couldnt handle mike green going ga ga over "omg look at the sportsmanship!" at the end of the game.

Yeah, I probably wouldn't shake Bowen's hand. I'd shake others. But **** Bowen. He's a bitch.

:lol @ the new security rules for the western finals

SAN ANTONIO - With the Western Conference Finals beginning this Sunday, the AT&T Center has enhanced its security procedures to help ensure the safety of patrons and employees during Spurs games.
1. All AT&T Center patrons will be screened by wands.
2. Items such as knives (including pocket knives and leatherman tools), guns, aerosol cans or other potential weapons will not be permitted into the facility.
3. No backpacks, large bags, or sealed packages of any kind are permitted into the facility.
4. Only small handbags, purses or diaper bags will be allowed into the facility, but are subject to inspection prior to entering the facility.
5. Large cameras with detachable lenses will NOT be permitted.
6. Cell phones, pagers, cameras or other similar electronic devices are subject to testing and inspection prior to entering the facility.

To minimize any inconvenience, guests of the AT&T Center should consider the following suggestions:

1. Patrons should arrive early. Doors will open for Spurs games 2 hours prior to game time.

2. Avoid bringing unnecessary bags, cameras, binoculars or electronic devices such as pagers and cell phones, or any prohibited items described above, to the facility.

3. Upon arrival to the screening area, remove all items from your pockets and have cell phones and pagers powered on for testing and inspection.

what in the ****

Spurs fans are borderline retarded, they're the same people who were chanting "dirty" every time Amare touched the ball late in game four, only to witness Horry lower his shoulder and send Nash careening into the scorers table when the game was clearly out of hand.

They then have the gull to point out how unsportsmanlike Amare's behavior is after the series was over?

****ing please.

I agree that Amare leaving the court without shaking anyone's hands was his right and his decision.

He is a compeititor who in his mind thought the Spurs were a dirty team.

He did not respect them.

Would you rather he put on a show for the cameras, forcing fake hugs and congrats he didn't mean?

Would that make you Spurs fans happy?

Spurs fans are delusional enough to think Bowen isn't dirty. Oh, boo hoo, Amare didn't shake hands with a piece of shit like Bruce Bowen. Actually, maybe he should have, and then slammed his knee into Bowen's crotch so he'd know what it feels like.

Given that I've seen the Jazz pretty much hack away at guys for the first 2 series, hopefully they get away with beating the hell out of (sorry, I mean Bowening) the Spurs a third time.

Bowen is a ****ing defensive machine and he showed it again yesterday. Or did he play dirty yesterday too? ****ing whiners. :lol

Nash was lost until the game was practically out of reach for the Suns. It was an incredible performance and I think Bruce might have been the biggest reason for the Spurs winning this series besides TD.

Bring on the hate. I´m starting to like it. :lol

Bad Boys West going for #4.

Say what you want about Bruce Bowen (I won't disagree that he's a dirty player. I don't believe he has malicious intent but he plays like a lunatic and does stupid shit with his hands and feet that are dangerous) but how can anyone think the Spurs are a dirty TEAM? There's absolutely nothing dirty about the other 4 guys on the court. If having one dirty player makes a whole team dirty than the Suns are dirty as well. At least Horry didn't have the nerve to go off on Steve Nash the way Raja Bell did after he clotheslined Kobe like a punk.

Amare is an immature kid, but everyone already knew this before this series started so its not surprising that he'd storm off the court.

speaking of immature kids

the draft lottery is Tuesday

I got the Hawks winning it all then selecting Durant

(because Sheldon Williams is going to have a breakout Summer League!)

Why are spurs fans whining about the leaving the court stuff? I thought spurs fans don't whine and keep trucking on?
Our team does that. We like talking crap to the haters, because our team talks in the court and they can't do shit about it.

Who cares if Amare walked off? Does it hurt the Spurs somehow that he walked of like that? Seems like spursreport trying to grab for stories to make their spurs look all noble. I thought they didn't care what people thought about them? I remember the Ice Man saying one time that players are too friendly nowadays in the NBA.

Anyways, Spurs arent a dirty team, but Bowen sure is. And thats just the way it is (good or bad). And keep hating on Amare guys, it tastes good (and you Suns fans should feel the same way) :D

Yea, he should had gave bro hugs, but oh well, it didn't happen. Maybe he was watching bad boy piston clips on youtube the last couple days.

yeah that is rather retarded.

dont point out that bowen kneed nash in the crotch and tried to take out amare's ankle or horry and his cheap shot on nash but OMG AMARE DIDNT SHAKE HANDS HE IS A SORE LOSER.

I'm getting sick and tired of that shit, Bowen is not a physical freak like Amare, he had to actually earn his place in the NBA by working and playing hard.
If Stoudemire had 10th of his discipline and dedication he was the best player in the league, and the Suns were in the conference final.

I have much more respect for the Bowens of the world than to the spoiled whinny brats.

As much as I hate the Pistons and Spurs, I'd rather one of them win (again) rather than Lebron. I really don't like the way he plays. I hate that he only tries half the time, if that. I hate the offense they run around him. He's just a boring "superstar" to watch. So I'll be rooting for the Pistons to sweep the Cavs, as much as it pains me to cheer for 'Sheed.

I'd rather root for a champion I hate than a new team that I hate. I'm crazy like that.

Of course, I'd rather the Jazz shock the world and win it all. I don't think they could beat the Pistons, though.

Huh? Spoiled? Do you know Amare's past? Dedicated? He came back from microfracture knee surgery.....

He could use more of both, but don't say he is lacking any of it.

I think you understand what I meant (but yeah, spoiled was a poor word to describe Amare).
Players like him can get into their NBA on their raw physical talent.
Bruce Bowen can't, he *has* to play hard, he *has* to use every possible angle for his advantage.
I don't fault him for that, quite the opposite actually.

But I do stand by my assertion on Stoudemire's lack of dedication, just look at how he play defense.

You're still a jock rider though. :lol

Amare lacks dedication (or focus or whatever you want to call it) on defense. He is very sloppy. But I think he is a dedicated player, citing how he came back so successfully from the knee surgery and his improved FT percentage and outside jumper. He just has to work even harder in the off season (I think he will).

Historically, you'll find that most great players work harder than the second tier. No one becomes an elite player because of their raw talent. Look at all the draft flops, like Kwame Brown, who didn't try hard and are now fighting for minutes. Show me a player who doesn't play with passion and dedication and I'll show you an average player at best.

Why do you think Vince Carter isn't considered elite?

You know what we haven't seen this year? Every team in the playoffs having a countdown under the scorers' table of the number of games until that team wins the Finals.

oh please, save the sob story about "working hard", Bowen is in his mid-late 30s and still playing at a reasonably high level in the NBA, he's obvously no slouch in the physical freak department. To paraphrase Bill Simmons, don't make it sound like he's just some clumsy well intentioned guy like Madsen tripping over his own feet. He's 36 years old, starting on a championship contending team, still playing defense at a high level, but he's dirty. Those are just the facts. Kicking guys in the face is dirty. Undercutting jumpshooters is dirty. Kneeing players in the crotch is dirty. Kicking a players leg out from under them when they jump for a layup is dirty. People have been saying it for years for a ****ing reason.

The Las Vegas team employs/is financed by one Master P (aka Percy Miller), the ex-rapper-turned-producer who is worth millions. (At least that’s what people say. I’m not sure how rappers like him – those with no discernible talent – become so wealthy.) In the same way that he aspires to be a decent rapper and produce quality music, he aspires to be a basketball player – that is, he isn’t very good at any of the three. He didn’t play in our game in Las Vegas but did make an appearance in a recent game in Kansas City. He is not a truly awful basketball player – it’s not like he is retarded – but he doesn’t really have any business being on the court. Of course, I’m not opposed to him playing; he donates a lot of money to the pockets of his “teammates” and brings in fans, along with providing us, the opposition, the opportunity to play five-on-four whenever he is on the court. I was amazed, in both games, with the lust of the average person for a brush with fame. (He walked in to cheers midway through the second quarter of our game in Nevada and signed hundreds of autographs in Kansas City. Well, dozens, anyway.) I mean, the guy could hardly be considered cool; his fame passed years ago, but that doesn’t stop people from clamoring to be in his presence.

Mr Paul Shirley :)

Master P was a good point guard 10 years ago. He's gotta be near 40 now so dissin his skills now is dumb. His son Romeo was one of the best players coming out of high school this year.

I'm rooting for the Jazz and Pistons: I want to see either Sloan or Flip get a title.

Master P was awful that one summer league that the Raptors let him have a try out, he was probably the biggest ball hog ever and after he got cut he dissed the team and said he was better than any one else on the team. This was when the Raptors had T-Mac and Vince.

Well, reading the preview has given some light on the playoff history between the two teams... Spurs haven't won in Utah in the playoffs EVER. And they barely have an advantage at home, 4-3.

obviously these teams are quite a bit different then the last time they met, but history has a way of repeating itself. :)

I think, if the Jazz can pull out a stunner in San Antonio, they could end up going 3-1 in the first four game, 2-2 at the worst. If they don't win one in San Antonio, I think Spurs will be 3-1 after 4 games... Tomorrow is huge! Go Jazz!
