Wow, Lamar was dead out there during that interview.

Looked like he was looking for Kobe after the game finished but Kobe just walked to the locker room...

Get off his nuts folks. Normally id be on his ass also but this has been a ****ed up year for Lamar. Lost his Aunt, Infant Son, Robbed at gun point, battles through that and started off awesome just to be owned by injuries all year. Cut him some slack

Yeah, he has had a rough year. A very rough year.

I can't wait for Vick "The Brick" Jacobs tomorrow.

Thank you ColdBlooded.

I was just about to post something along those lines.

It looks like (from a guy who hasn't watched many Lakers games) the Laker's players all look to Kobe for leadership, and it hurts them when he just leaves for the locker room like that after a loss. If they had someone like Cassell, they would be such a better team, because he would take the leadership role which doesn't seem like Kobe's strong suit.

This is why guys like Jordan, Magic and now Kobe would never be good head coaches.

They are the unforgiving "fathers" who demand perfection.

To have to watch helplessly as a team fails is probably the worse thing that can happen to them.

Bah.

A co-worker of mine is from Costa Rica.

From what he says. it is hardly 3rd world.
Well, depends on where you look and who you're talking about, but you can definitely have a great life here and I'd say most people do. Doesn't neglect the fact that there's many, many problems typical of an under developing country.

Anyway, I'd say there's a very big chance that your co-worker is a big Lakers or Bulls fan. :-p

Good lord the Lakers were sent to die! :lol I see rest of team showed to play for tonights game. I better not see Luke and Odom in interviews asking Kobe to trust them more when they can't make a ****ing shot to save their lives.

One rebound away eh?!?!?

The Lakers play zero post D.
You can't win without any presence in the middle.
They literally hang there heads when a player gets in the paint - before even getting to the basket!
Concession basket after concession basket - just horrible.
Is this really a Phil Jackson team?

As crazy as it sounds I really don't think the Lakers are that far away from contending. Luke Walton was playing all kinds of awesome before his injury and he is not all the way back yet.

Lamar was also playing like an all star before his injury.

Lakers just need an effective defensive and rebounding big man and a non retarded point guard and that starting five can contend with any team in the league thanks to Kobe.

I don't know if Farmer is that guy or how long it would take him to be that guy, but point guard is the position the Lakers need to address first. As shitty as Kwame is offensively, he can be average and a usable big body on the boards and defending the paint when he is healthy (which he isn't).

I don't know if this Lakers team could have beaten Phoenix if they were healthy, but they would have at least contended. Right now they are just lambs to the slaughter.

And I might be crazy, but Smush Parker looks to have totally given up on the Lakers and at any attempt at being an NBA player. It seems like things always seem to unravel when he is on the floor (but to be honest, everyone seemed to give up once Phil took Kobe out in the 2nd and let the scrubs play).

Back to LA where hopefully Smush can do something useful for once in his life and knock out Raja (not like it will hurt the Suns anyways as their backup is infinitely better).

cmon lakers, get it together!

Bean done did it to himself, he done did it to himself...these are the growing pains

These NBA players, on the Lakers, need to find their jumpshots quick

I hope they come out strong as hell, in game 3

Not going to happen. Lakers are too banged up to do anything.

You guys definitely need a point guard, who were you thinking about?

If you had someone like Sam Cassell, I bet you guys could easily contend with the Suns. Farmar and Parker are not the answer.

I don't think a player who has as many injury issues as Cassell is an answer either.

BTW, Rick Carlisle got fired today. How in the hell is Larry Bird expecting any coach to do better with that roster?

I like Farmer so I would like to keep him at least as a backup PG until his rookie contract runs out. Lakers don't need an amazing point guard, we just need an average point guard at best and it will make the Lakers 100x more effective immediately. Lamar, Kobe, and Walton together will be able to move the ball enough to get whoever is on the floor easy shots (assuming they are healthy).

Smush has definitely got to GTFO out of LA. I can't prove it, but I feel he is secretly sabatoging any chance the Lakers might have. I mean the guy isn't even trying (not that he is much better when he tries, but he is giving zero effort these days).

I also think Kwame would be a great backup center and Bynum might be able to give us points by as early as next season. All we need is another solid big man along with a decent PG and the Lakers will be a force next season.

Sasha and Cook need to go as well. I don't mind keeping Evans because even though he is a moron, he can give some decent backup minutes to Kobe. That is all we need him for.

Now lets see what Mitch does.

That point guard has to be someone that can be a consistent scorer. Teams can gamble on everyone else on the roster sucking (which is about a 50-50 call right now) way too much.

Look you don't have to be a great player to be able to score consistently if you play with Kobe Bryant. The guy demands double and triple teams on a consistent basis. All we need is a big man who can finish wide open layups and dunks and a PG who can make outside shots and drive to the hoop with no one covering him.

That will make the other team pick their poison. Get raped by Kobe or give up wide open shots to the other players. Right now out big and pg are so bad they can't even make the wide open shots, but all we need is an average NBA talent to remedy this problem.

In the context of the LOLakers that's what I meant. I'm not asking for an AI-Marshmelo situation here.

I did love this, though:

Riley also commented that he partly blames the New Jersey Nets for his team's predicament, saying the Bulls returned from their season-ending loss at the Meadowlands so irate at themselves that it has fueled the motivation they've been displaying in this series.

"It pissed them off, and usually borne out of that kind of adversity comes something else, and we saw that in the first two games," Riley said.

I realize it's the spurzzz, but one post on game 2 of that series? I turned it on with less than 2 minutes in the 2nd and they were up by 15, then the nuggets went on a 9-2 run to end it.

I mean, it'll be boring unless it stays closer, but I figured at least the spurs fans would post.
