Oh and is it just me or is Raja completely taken out of the Suns offense when Kobe is being aggressive? For a guy who spreads the floor and averages double figures, his subpar offensive production really brings the Suns offense down..especially when Kobe is destroying him anyways...

Why do all the Rockets fans I come across hate the Suns so much? It's not like we repeatedly beat you on the way to the championship. If anything I should hate the rockets, but I was pulling for you to sweep so you would be rested up for Dallas.

I am a Rockets fan and don't hate the Suns. The Suns play an entertaining brand of basketball and are fun to watch and marvel at. If anything, they are the anti-Rockets as the Rockets at tims have the most boring offense in the NBA. Also, the Suns will give young players a chance and try to actually develop players while JVG doesn't give any young player a chance. He is simply too lazy to attempt to develop players.

If any Rocket fan is using arrogance as a reason to hate the Suns have not spent any time with T-Mac or Chuck Hayes.

According to sources with knowledge of the situation, Wizards guard Gilbert Arenas will appear on the cover of EA Sports' "NBA Live," the WASHINGTON TIMES reports.

Tremendously popular on multiple video game consoles, "NBA Live" has featured Tracy McGrady, Dwyane Wade, Carmelo Anthony, Kevin Garnett and Tim Duncan on the cover.

Arenas, who suffered a torn meniscus earlier this month and is out for the season, is an avid video game player who often goes online and challenges other gamers.

I guess the EA curse got him early

Well what do you suggest they do? Do you think the Lakers should trade for another star? I could go for the idea depending on who we could get but I am totally against Oneal and Garnett. Oneal is a bum and Garnett is past his prime. Who does that leave us with? How many superstars are even left in the NBA? And of those that are stars how many are tradeable?

Remember the Lakers were playing great earlier in the season before they got the injury bug. Once they address the huge hole at PG I feel the rest of the team will be much more solid. Again I feel it comes down to Kobe, just give him a competant team and he can contend for a championship. He isn't Steve Nash or Dirk. He doesn't have to be surrounded by all star talent in order to contend. ;)

Not say the Lakers don't need to make changes, because they do, but I feel they have a good core at the moment. However, Sasha, Smush, and Cook are all beyond worthless and you could add almost any bench player from any other team and it would be a big upgrade.

They need a PG for sure. What they really need is for Kobe to start making calls :lol

Shaq was pretty good at convincing players to join over the phone.

wait, lakers fans say they dislike the suns players attitudes but you support asshole/rapist kobe bryant or the biggest dickweed of all "zen master" phil jackson? give me a break. suns are alright with me! plus i like their style of play on the court. this series is over in 5 games.

Well, to be fair Kobe and Phil have rings. The Suns are pricks for no reason.

I'm pretty sure every player in the NBA is arrogant...it's not a big deal to me

just looks bad on the suns cause they haven't won anything

Being arrogant only works when you win. If you act that way after you lose you come off looking like a biotch.

This is why the only team that can get away with that attitude right now is Miami.

Raja will always get torched by Kobe unless he gets quick double and triple teams, that doesn't effect his offensive production at all. I have seen Raja do pretty well even when Kobe is going off for 40+ and because Kobe would not play defense he would still get some wide open shots which he usually makes. What killed him was all of the Lakers (including Kobe for a change) started to play defense last night. Raja is pretty worthless on the offensive end and his game mainly consists of making wide open threes. Make him put it on the floor (like LA did last night) and he is worthless.

What killed the Suns offense last night was they were not getting the wide open shots they are used to getting off their pick and roll. Lakers took away all of the easy buckets and if it were not for Amare being on fire last night that game would have been a blowout for the Lakers.

Yeah. Since when does Amare have a jumper?

Supposedly he worked pretty hard on it while he was trying to come back from his microfracture surgery. It's helped his little driving move towards the basket as well.

He still has no post game though.

he did a couple years ago when he absolutely demolished timmy duncan in the playoffs...of course this is all before the surgery

My memory might be off, but I remember Amare facing Duncan up that year and using his quickness to get around him.

I also remember Duncan giving Amare fits at times as well. It wasn't a one sided demolition the way I remember it.

Then again maybe I only remember it that way because the Spurs won.

As I recall most of his points were of his usual, pick and roll/driving to the basket variety. Amare has no drop step, no hook shot, no turn around jumper, no spin move, nothing really when he has his back to the basket. I think maybe the extraordinary success he's having paired with Nash is resulting in him neglecting to work on that aspect of his game. He's still very young though.

I remember him blocking an easy Duncan dunk in that series :'(

You betray your Bay Area roots, FMT.

I was really impressed with Farmar's defense on Nash. The supposed MVP and best basketball player looked anything but with a rookie harassing him all night.

Ben Howland defense FTW.

If Mihm is decent next season that will give the Lakers 3 decent centers to take up space.

Mihm is a free agent this summer and the Lakers better not resign his ass.

Is Cook a FA this year as well? There is a lot of dead weigh the Lakers need to get rid of.

I agree that we should ditch Mihm if given the opportunity, but the Lakers still need another big man to replace him if he leaves. I wonder if anyone is dumb enough to bite on Vlad at the moment?

They gave him a 3yr deal on openeing night. 3 yrs at 3.5 mil per.

Terrible move that was even worse after they just signed the EXACT SAME PLAYER in Vlad. This deal should have gone to Luke while Cook became trade fodder...

Mihm, McKie, Shammond, Luke, Ronny and Smush (:lol :lol :lol) are all going to be free agents this summer. Brian Grant's shit ****ing contract finally gets off the books too. That's like 20 million dollars in cap relief.

Cookie, Butterfingers and Mo are under contract for 1 more season and Sasha has a qualifying offer for 2008/2009 (:lol :lol :lol).

I think the surgery took more out of his game than people think. He has fully recovered, but that doesn't mean he will ever be as good as he could have been had he never needed surgery in the first place.

The Suns have to do it this year, I see them trying to trade Marion at the end of the season and Nash maybe has 2 great seasons left (and meybe 3 more good one after that). Amare is a good guy to have on the team he's a very poweful player, but he's not the kind of player one can really build a team around, like Kobe or Duncan, not yet anyway.

If the Suns don't do it this year than I see them falling to a .500 team pretty quickly without a shot at the championship for a while. It sucks being a Suns fan sicne there always seems to be one team out there that is better than them when the Suns seem to be fit to build a dynasty. Happened in the early 90's, to a lesser extent in the mid/late 70's and is happening now. At least that's the way I feel about it.

Woot! My cable company finally gives us ESPN2HD today. Now I can watch Raptors vs Nets game in HD and any other game they throw on that channel.

Game three = series. God, I ****ing hope the raptors actually play well for once, Bargnani has been invisible and he needs to contribute something tonight.

I'm pumped for tonight's game, I'm AMPED. Heat gonna turn around the series tonight, I know it. I know this team. Heat in 6 or 7 bitches, love it or hate it.

LET'S GO HEAT!!!

Jersey can't even sell out a playoff game. Move the team already.

I say move them and rename them the Knicks, get rid of that other team thats close by.

Still think Smitch was worthy of COY? Frank is handing him his ass, and has done so for this entire series.

24 of the nets 26 points in the paint. Unbe-****ing-lievable.

I'm going to hang myself if this keeps up.

The question is: will Vince care long enough for them to win the game? He's in vintage form right now, because he's got no one booing him and he's trying. I don't deny his greatness when he wants to win. Let's hope he breaks a nail soon.

Uncontested floaters in the lane, layups, dunks, jumping at every up-fake, not getting back in transition, the raptors defense is just way too passive and soft to compete in a playoff atmosphere.

I'd have knocked Carter on his ass on his second drive to the hole, these are ****ing playoffs man, act like it. Nets points in the paint 35+ already. Inexcusable.

Alright, almost time for them to put a mercy end to this game and to just show some more Madden Nation episodes.

Kidd with a sick pass there for the finish.

I can already sense Collangelo regretting making those comments about bringing Smitch back a couple of weeks ago.

Kidd with fourteen assists at the half, he's on pace to challenge for the individual game record.

It's kinda messed up that this COY has kinda forced the organization's hand. Sam is nothing special as a coach. The Raps improved so much cos they added a lot of talent and their division was TERRIBLE...

Game ain't over yet, boys...

Edit: Is it just me or are some of NJ fans clapping for the Raps? There aren't *that* many Toronto fans in the audience.

If it were any other GM I'd be worried, but Collangelo wouldn't be phased, uproar and media backlash be damned, he caters to nobody, he's watching this series, and I'm confident he'll make the right decision and not bring him back.
