I'm in NY but the times I've posted in GAF the last 4 months is when I either traveled to Philly or went to a library here. Actually I'm trying to get tickets to the series in Philly July 4th weekend.

Ah MLB draft time again. Every single year the player I want is usually taken a few picks prior to where the Blue Jays draft. This year I am hoping for one of: Wallace, Alonso, or Lawrie to fall to our pick but knowing our luck they will be all be gone by then.

I can't figure out why I always get excited for the draft, since 99.9% of them won't reach the majors for years. Normally the Sox picking 30th isn't a big deal, but this year there doesn't appear to be many players falling to bonus demands, so I guess there won't be many susperstars falling into our lap again. Hopefully they throw huge sums around in the late rounds on hard signs.

Since the Rays are apparently picking Beckham, where does Posey fall to now?

I'm defintely excited for the draft this year, the Redsox have some work to do to reload the farm system. I'm not really impressed with anyone outside of Masterson or Josh Reddick. They really, really need some catching help. Kotoras is a bum. Though Mark Wagner is an interesting option.

We have 3 1st rounders (thank your Braves/Glavine), one of the reasons Omar emptied the farm for Santana.

Edit: Top talent always falls, but will we pay for it is the question. Tigers got one of the best pitching prospects last year with the 27th pick, but they had to pay him ~$11m (Boras client).
