I hope that's it for Santana as well. The chances of this pen shutting them out for four innings is next to zero.
Only 65 pitches for Santana so far, he will probably go at least 8 innings today. :(

Shields has been just as good. Shows he's worthy of taking over Kazmir's position.
Been very impressed so far with the Rays pitching staff. Shields, Jackson, and Sonnanstine have all done pretty well against the Yankees.

Yeah i'll be honest with you guys, I thought we were going to get slaughtered yesterday so I didn't even watch the game. :lol Surprised Shields lost today but holy FUCK at Howell right now. He's doing amazingly.

Andy Sonnastine will eventually prove he's Andy Sonnastine. I don't expect anymore from him. He'll eventually prove himself.

Pollo, it is the fifth game of the season, can't judge the offense yet!

6th friend. And the offense has showed up for other teams, why shouldn't I judge them now? They still haven't proven this offense is any different from what we saw in Cleveland. And if we see another devastating 1-2 punch in the WC round (if we make it) with this offense, then forget it.

I wish there were some Baltimore fans in this thread. Everyone said they'd be the last place AL East team, but for now, for at least the first week..they're on top. 4-1 now. Don't make me play the roll of a cocky Baltimore fan.

Nostraslyar didn't pass away! Remember when I said Shields was lights out THEN Matsui hit a 2 run bomb?! I was kidding! I meant to say "Shields is going to give up a two run shot!"

Nostrasylar redeemed!

:lol

I wasn't being serious, just like my comment to Y2Kev earlier. I made a similar comment and someone told me to stop saying it because it is too early in the season to comment on the O. I forgot who it was and am too lazy to look it up,jJust like in the NFL thread I just need to rub in my correct assessment of a team.

nostrasylar passes away :(

TampaBay still took 2/3 from us. Hardly anything to goad sylar with

Edit: wtf at NESN for closing out the game with a "We are experiencing technical difficulties sign":lol New England I fucking hate your station. If youre not showing shitty commercials, or having shitty homer calls, youre having shitty production values.

That my friends is why I have a man-crush on Mark Teixeira. Please sign him long-term Frank Wren. Pay him Boras money if you have to. He's worth it

With Giambi and 1st base still up in the air and 40 mil coming off the books next season, I wouldn't be surprised if he's in pinstripes next season :D 25 mil per!

On one hand, Boras is his agent. So that worries me. On the other, he seems to enjoy playing in Atlanta, with playing at GT and all. If we make the playoffs, then I think Liberty will bump up that payroll a little so we can afford to pay him the $20 mil Boras will want. Home discount, plz?

When does Hampton's contract end?

How many millions would the Braves save without that albatross?
this is the last year on his contract, THANK GOD! So with Hampton's contract up we should have enough money. Glavine might retire too so that would free up some money. The problem is that we wouldn't have that much left. But if we don't sign him, we will have a shit ton of money to use in the offseason on other things.
