Yeah it is stupid, after he makes his start they will put him on waivers and with such a high profile prospect there is no way he makes it past the person who is 1st or 2nd in waiver priority in the league.

You know guys (FOX announcers), they made that 1st base running lane rule specifically to prevent situations like that from happening. Otherwise batters would bunt near the plate a LOT more often. It's not some big mystery.
