Okay, fantasy question time.

Proposed trade-

To me:

Nate McLouth
Jay Bruce
Juan Pierre
Conor Jackson
Howie Kendrick

From me:

Jose Reyes
Brandon Webb
Tim Lincecum

Now, in addition to McLouth and Bruce, this guy also has Hamilton, Quentin, Ryan Braun, and Granderson. How much should I bet on Jay being PHENOM for the entire rest of the year? Should I try to go for one of the sure thing OFs instead?

This guy is robbing you, plus are you going to have ANY pitching after the trade?

If I was a mod I'd ban you for even thinking about trading Timmy Lincecum...

Don't make this trade man. Try to just trade Reyes for OF help.

weather is looking real bad over here today. I doubt the game gets played tonight.

Yeah it does look like shit here.. I was thinking about going again tonight but I'm not sure about it now.

Nope; because when you got Johan, you got no problems. :D

Gomez has a ways to go before can challenge the delicious. Delicious. DELICIOUS!! FRUITY!! FRUITYFRUITYFRUITY!! OH GAWD I GOTTA HAVE EM, SKITTLES!! power harnessed by Jose Reyes.

Wow the Brave got lucky on that call, he was safe. Horrible call. Almost as bad as this call made earlier in the season:

White Sox signed Esteban Loaiza. I really like this move, low risk and he could be a servicable long man. Our bullpen has been great so if he is completely washed up it's not a loss at all since Wassermann(who hopefully gets DFA'd now) still has an ERA over 20.

Ugh, I knew I shouldn't have let the back-to-back wins with Webb and Haren starting get my hopes up. D-Backs back to sucking ass. :(

Oh shit, I totally forgot about the day game today. And I turn on the radio just in time for it to go to shit. Way to go, Cereal

And there goes Hanley HR #2... amazing.

giving up the game tying HR to a guy with no power hitting .225....fucking awesome...
then you leave him in and he continues to suck....

why then take him out when the game's already lost and waste the bullpen...

Soriano couldn't have gone 2 straight games? wtf are they paying him 10 millions for?

arghgghggh fuckfuckity fuck this team

It's all your fault Cereal. We were doing good until you turned the game on. :lol

Don't worry though, Gregg is going to blow it.
I hope.

Honestly, I accept full blame for this. The baseball fan in me truly believes that if I hadn't turned the game on, we would have won it :lol

Anyways, what I came here to post originally before I realized the game was on...

I was thinking at lunch about Smoltz and the condition of the starting rotation at this point. It seems to me that this increases the likelihood of Tex getting traded if the chances of a deal getting worked out aren't looking good as the Trade Deadline nears. I hate it, but we could definitely use another sure-thing starter. You can only get by on converted relievers and young pitching for so long. If we're going to make a run at the playoffs, we're gonna need more experience

PHILADELPHIA (AP)—Ken Griffey Jr., one homer shy of 600, wasn’t in the starting lineup for the Cincinnati Reds for the third consecutive game Wednesday.

The 38-year-old outfielder played in 54 of Cincinnati’s first 57 games, but he hasn’t started against the Philadelphia Phillies because of general soreness and a sore left knee.

Griffey walked on four pitches as a pinch hitter in the eighth inning Tuesday night and pitcher Bronson Arroyo ran for him. Corey Patterson started in center field Wednesday after being recalled from Triple-A because Ryan Freel was placed on the disabled list with a strained right hamstring. Rookie sensation Jay Bruce was in right field again.

The only other players to hit 600 homers are Barry Bonds, Hank Aaron, Babe Ruth, Willie Mays and Sammy Sosa.

Griffey hit No. 599 against Atlanta on Saturday, but missed a chance to reach the milestone in front of his hometown fans.

Jose Reyes seems intent on completely destroying the Giants' pitching staff. Why, you ask? Because he is the most FRUITY! EXCITING! THRILLING! THRILLING THRING EXCITING!!! player in baseball.
Vote Jose Reyes as the starting NL SS today!!

Code:

Billy is a commodity that can be bartered depending on the fluctuations of overseas markets and interest rates

Wooo!!

EDIT: Awesome :D The board is so much better when the Reds fans show up en masse.

FIRE COLLETTI!
The thing is, who do you get to replace him?

Man, the Dodgers have had absolutely horrid luck with General Managers over the past 12 years or so. It's sad when Dan Evans was probably the best GM we've had in well over a decade.

Kevin Malone - horrible
Dan Evans - decent
Paul DePodesta - horrible
Ned Colletti - pretty damn bad

Logan White, He has been begging for chance and Lasorda was also pushing to get him a chance.

Letting White not focus on scouting and drafting would be about the worst decision the Dodgers could make. They just need to find a GM who won't trade all of White's brilliant discoveries away.

I also don't think DePodesta got much of a chance to show whether he was good or not. His second (final) season had the worst injury luck. He needed one more off-season before he could be fairly judged.

I only mention Logan White because every off season the rumors of him leaving the Dodgers organization creep up.

Colletti has done a decent job of not trading away White's discoveries, It's just that he has no luck in signing vets to round out the club. He has gotten shit in return for the money he has spent on guys like Kent, Nomar, Schmidt, Gonzo, Tomko, Andruw Jones, Pierre, Etc...

oh, then I hope the Red Sox can scoop him up in some capacity. He's awesome.

Corey Baker Patterson Jr. manages to get called back up and immediately put into the second slot in the lineup. It's really unbelievable. After his fly out tonight he is officially .199 BA :lol

Edinson Volquez is flat out nasty. Jinx. The Hamilton/Volquez trade is pretty amazing so far. If both those guys stay healthy they could be the best hitter/pitcher in their leagues for a few seasons.
