marion trade

i hope we don't do this deal. joel anthony, i don't give a shit about his past, but he contributes way more than brad miller will.

and it is nice that miller and kenny thomas will have 2 deals expiring in 2010 but wtf, this trade blows

Well, tomorrow's the day Maggette's eligible for trade. He's welcome in Toronto, where he can take every shot he can get his hands on if he can shoot 45%.

Why did Golden State fans decide they don't like him? It can't be because he's a ballhog. Everybody on that team is a ballhog. I bet the coach doesn't even give them them ball for shootaround until he's jacked up a good 20-30 quick transition 3s.

Come on, there's a bio right there. Check that out, back in 2004 he had a 16 rebound game against the Spurs. Sure, his career average might be 3.6 rpg, but that game shows that when he's up against a championship calibre team he raises his game. He's like one of those really smart kids that does bad in normal school - he needs to be challenged. He needs a special school. And the Toronto Raptors are just like a special school.

I mean, the man has an 8 year career despite only averaging 4.3 ppg. You know the only way to pull that off? Intangibles, and lots of them. This man has so many intangibles you can't touch him. He's gas.
Forggetti is one of the most selfish players I have ever seen. The guy refuses to do anything else except shoot jumpers and bull his way to the basket.

You pass Forggetti the ball and no one else will see it for the rest of the game. Not just that offensive set; literally the entire game. I don't know how he inbounds the ball to himself and throw outlet passes to himself; he just does.

the Jordan firing i can understand, as he had been there for a while and maybe it was time for a fresh start, but the Reggie Theus and PJ Carlisimo firings leave me scratching my head. Did the owners of both those teams expect more from their teams? The Thunder are fucking terrible and everyone knew it, what was there to gain from hiring a guy who is considered at least a decent coach? And the Kings were not very good but from what i've seen they played hard under Theus. Just more reinforcement for my belief that NBA GMs are some of the dumbest around.

The PJ thing, it was rumoured that he'd basically checked out on the team and wasn't doing much in the way of teaching. That's allegedly why they got rid of him.

Wow.

So, apparently, Jason Levien, who happens to be Kevin Martin's ex-Agent, started his first day TODAY as the assistant GM in Sacramento.

An hour later, Theus was fired.

More egregious than the Jordan firing. That team hasn't quit on Theus, they just aren't that good, and Kevin Martin's been out for a while.

Yup. I am not sure what Theus is to do with that roster. This year the Kings needed two things.

1. To see the young guys show promise. Which they have and honestly, Garcia and Salmons have played much better with Theus coaching than they did with Musselman or Adleman.

2. A top lottery pick. This team has no playoff hopes and there was no point in mildly being not horrible and getting another mid to late lottery pick. The team needs a #1 guy.

Theus was getting faster results from the younger guys than I expected. Hawes has greatly improved and Thompson has shown double double ability. The problem was that management expected winning and youth development at the same time, which is ridiculous. The team played a long string of close games and then lost at the end. Not a big surprise considering you have no playoff experience and no number one guy to take the shots.

If Martin suddenly comes back from injury, healthy as can be, then there was some serious backstabbing going on.

Exactly. He's worse than Jax (who's actually in the top 10 in the NBA in assists) and Crawford, who at least recognise there are times to pass the ball. But Maggette is a true black hole, there's only shots coming once he touches the ball in the front court. He doesn't play defense either.

He rebounds ok but the Warriors had a better record (4-2) with him out than with him (3-13) going into the Houston game. Send his ass out for Andrea please.

He better not leave that freethrow line for the rest of the week!

Oh yes, the Greatest Rivalry In Sports resumes tonight, Raptors DEMOLISHING the Nets early - 16-2 in the 1st.

But just in case, moral victory conditions:

Cleveland: Hold Lebron under 30 and/or final score is within 10 - FAIL

Indiana TJ Ford Revenge Squad: Calderon puts up better numbers than Ford - VICTORY

New Jersey Vince Carters: VC doesn't hit gut-wrenching game winner - VICTORY

New Orleans: Mo Pete circus shots <= 1 - VICTORY*

New Jersey Vince Carters Again: VC still doesn't hit gut-wrenching game winner

Dallas: Bargnani's numbers >= 50% of Dirk's

BORIS WITH 8 POINTS ALREADY.

We should trade Amare to get him back asap.

Oh yeah, do the Nets and Toronto play every night against each other?

They should, just so that Carter can keep dropping game winners on them.

Boris Diaw and Raja Bell are fucking amazing. This is the best the team has looked in ages. Now we just need to trade for JR Smith and we'll be in business.

Bargnani with 4 points & 2 boards in 2 minutes - look at how valuable he is! Don't you all want to petition your local GMs to trade valuable players and draft picks for this 7' versatile monster?

This is a fucking block party :lol

I swear only 4 possessions in the 4th haven't ended with blocked shots so far.

I can't help but notice there are no Heat fans posting here as they get shredded down by 20 to the Bucks.

Well, there were only 2 to begin with, and I think Cerrius got banned from trolling on the gaming boards.

Trade Felton the fuck outta here. The honeymoon is fucking over.

if you don't hit both of these you bastard...

Is the internet broken, or are the Raptors actually getting outscored 16-3 in the 4th on their home court against the last team in the world they should let that happen against?

After telling trax that Bosh wasn't MVP-worthy let alone playing like the best PF in the NBA, I sent Bosh a text asking him to play like shit for a few weeks to prove my point. I'll let Bosh know he can go back to playing like an all star now.

Consecutive double digit leads lost in the same game (16 in the first half, and then 10 in the second half after NJ tied going into halftime), and now down ten, these are massive, MASSIVE swings.. this team is fucking soft.

Chris Bosh: 3-13, 12 points against the daunting and intimidating big men of the Nets. League's best PF indeed. Another Raptor loss. PS: Nets have 18 offensive rebounds. Mind blowing. They need some rebounders, STAT. That's why they won't make the playoffs.

Chris Bosh is officially putting up Zach Randolph circa 2007 numbers now.

The Knicks have the worst defense in the league.... and it's way too soon to say anything... but the Suns look pretty good with JRich in the starting 5. If Lopez can turn into that big man we need off of the bench, we can definitely finish at .500!

I think I'm going to go break something.

Dear Bryan Colangelo:

Stop being coy. Your team doesn't work and you know it. You're way past the point where you needed a trade.
