Frank Coonelly files a complaint; fun.

"The Pittsburgh Pirates organization is extremely disappointed by the way its 19-inning game against the Atlanta Braves ended earlier this morning. The game of baseball and this game in particular, filled with superlative performances by players on both clubs, deserved much better.

"While we cannot begin to understand how umpire Jerry Meals did not see the tag made by Michael McKenry three feet in front of home plate, we do not question the integrity of Mr. Meals. Instead, we know that Mr. Meals' intention was to get the call right. Jerry Meals has been umpiring Major League games for 14 years and has always done so with integrity and professionalism. He got this one wrong."

Meanwhile, poor Meals is being "harrassed."

Meanwhile, the daughter of Meals, Laci, confirmed that Meals' family has been harassed since the controversial call, ESPN.com's Amy K. Nelson reports. She declined to talk further or answer any other questions. The specifics of that harassment are unknown.

An Internet search of the Meals' home phone number showed at least two message boards posted their home address and telephone number last night.

KG is just covering his own ass.

It was like only a week ago he was mocking Mets fans for even possibly thinking they could get Wheeler or Brown back in a trade. Even though he himself is a Mets fan. Jerk.

well to be fair, giving up either of those for Beltran is fucking stupid, but i guess there are some dumb GMs out there.

Good showing by Santana. Not taking anything away, but the lineup the indians trotted out there today was pretty pathetic.

That sounds something like the other team would say, hah!

But Tim Alderson is a good example, incredible how he went into sucking.
Yeah, some have described Wheeler as Alderson with higher velocity but less control.

Blue Jays announce Rasmus deal. Cards also get 3 players to be named later or cash considerations.

Didn't hear anything about the 3 PTBNL being involved in the deal before. Possibly makes the deal less sucky for the Cards depending who is in it.

Cool strike zone in this Yankee game.

Give the M's a F'ing break. God.
