Official Apple WWDC 2008 Thread (3G iPhone and...more?)

GPS is fantastic news, but does it need to be connected to EDGE or G3 to download Google maps from it? Or does it do it for free, using GPS network somehow? If I have to be connected to G3 non-stop to use it as a GPS, that wouldn't be good at all (I can imagine how much that would cost)

Oh and finally in Canada!

With GPS, the iPhone can do tracking. A pulsating dot is moving across the Google map as a car drives down Lombard street.

NICE!!!! :D

That is nice, but my Ocean has been doing it for a year now. I know some of you are really excited about the feature though...

Free using GPS network.

I love how the mood of this thread has changed. The 3G iPhone announcement came right on schedule, and yet people were ready to bail, despite the very solid app support Apple was showing.

"Its a small world after all"

WTF is going on?!

The fourth challenge, more countries, can be checked off as it will be available in Canada, Mexico, Norway, Sweden, Netherlands and many others -- "It's a Small World" is playing as countries continue to appear on the map.

Checking off 3G from the list of challenges. The second challenge, enterprise support, is fully built-in and can be checked off. The third challenge, third party application support, can also be checked off. WEWT CANADA!!! Now when will it come out?

I'm enjoying my unlocked G1 iPhone in Canada, and have been since it's release last year... I hope there's something worth upgrading for, or else I'll be happy just sitting on the extra cash.:lol
