I find it kinda strange actually. I began listening to madonna, pet shop boys and erasure in my early teens and I thought they were ****ing amazing. This is way before I had any sort of sexual identity.

When I "discovered" that PSB and erasure are essentially gay bands and madonna is considered this huge gay icon I was floored.

i had a number of gay and lesbian frields whilst back in the UK , and one thing that always stuck me with all of them:

They all had a very open attitude towards casual sexual encounters, especially the dudes.

Is this just the people i happened to know, or are single gay/lesbians simply more open to casual sex?

Lol - and has anyone ever had the reverse hetro-matcho thing - you know, the usual boast is "i turned her straight!" - has anyone had the "I turned him/her queer" reversal?

I know that's a highly crap question but i'd just like to believe it has happened to reverse the usual crap.

i've turned a usually-straight guy gay twice now :P really really hot, but a total head****, i wouldn't recommend it to anyone. he keeps going back to girls but around me he switches again hehehehe

Well but for straight guys doing a virgin girl, you get the whole thing about her being clingy and hard to get rid of. Some guys wouldn't want to deal with that, even if the whole is tighter as you say.

Pretty much the latter. Once again, a very broad generalization, but I'd say it's a more common attitude than it is with straight people (for many, many reasons).

As a quick aside I think gay porn is far more interesting than straight porn due to the potential for a "twist ending" - when two guys get together you never know who's going to top and who's going to bottom. Umm...was this a joke post? Honestly?

There's nothing for me to get over really. I do understand that it can be looked at as basically a "gay mardi-gras"...but my impression of it has been that it is basically half party and celebration / half civil rights demonstration (or whatever you wish to call it).

And I don't see how I'm imposing heterosexual viewpoints on you by being pro-gay marriage. If zero gay people wished to get married the point would be moot. However some do and you have has little right to impose your concepts on them as I have to impose mine on you. The day someone grabs you and your lastest boyfriend and forces you guys into a shotgun wedding is the day you'll have the right to complain.

For instance, if you just started work at a new office and there a women who *seemed* fairly typically lesbian, would you seek her out as a first person to make a bond with? (Obviously things might change as you get settled in better, she might be a bitch, etc...)

i dont' feel any particular affinity with other gay people any more than i would initially for a straight person at a new workplace... dunno about other people though.

i worked with another gay guy at my last job but didn't really get along with him beyond the superficial small talk level.

i get along with both my mum and dad really well. they are separated, but my dad has always maintained contact pretty much every day and i see him a lot.

i wasn't ever in love with a girl, i have dated girls, but for obvious reasons it didn't really work out, as much as i tried. just didn't feel right at all.

i can remember a time when i was turned on by women. but i think the mostly-guys thing has pushed my preference in the ohter direction even more so.
