Official Contact North American Thread

Going offline. I'll probably make this a nightly thing at 9pm est to 9:30pm est or so, until the friend list is filled up. If people respond with intent to show up, I'll delete other un-contacted friends from the list and add the new ones.

If we make this regular, we should be able to fill everyone's Contact list quickly, the better to acquire phat loots, skill ups, and delicious foodstuffs

Yea, I wrote down a different/wrong code for some reason. I think that was my DS pictochat code or something. Sorry my first time on WiFi with the DS and I figured everthing out earlier today.

Your code is fine, it was your brother's code that it rejected.

I think you can only have 8 friends. I have 7 now, and have a spot reserved for Mejilan, if he ever gets off his ass and gets the game. ;)

I assume you can delete them later, and add new friends. I've got two of you now, and I'm going to log off and check the island now.
I got boxing gloves and a book that I didn't have before.

Another amusing reference I caught was at Ft Eagle
at the airstrip. After you beat the pilots they say something about "Danger Zone," which is one of the best known songs on the Top Gun soundtrack.
 
I'm up right now, and connected to WFC if anybody wants to connect. Ethelred is still on too, so if you get on, you'll get both of us.

It's strange, it only takes a couple of seconds to connect, but it's getting two people on at the same time is a chore.

Where the hell is the fireman suit?
Why cant I cook chicken bites when I got the recipe near the beginning of the adventure.

Good game with some flaws otherwise, best rpg Ive played since pokemon gsc.

Do you have the suit for cooking. You have to be wearing it in order to cook.

As for a fireman suit... if there is one, I haven't got it yet... unless you're talking about the Nitro suit, which is in
Aegis.

Im aware that I need the chef's outfit to do cooking, but there are a lot of recipes that it says "he cant make that yet" which means I selected the correct ingredients but theres some barrier Im not aware of that prevents him from making things like bbq swordfish and chicken bites

And I received an item that gives a certain stat boost to "firemen only", the nitro boost suit is referred to as "driver"

Fireman suit is the one that gives you a hose with which to shoot water. Like a fireman. It's most likely the first suit you got.

I left Contact at work (brought home Magical Starsign in the DS) so I won't be going online with it again until tomorrow evening.
 
I added everyone from the front page. I'm on right now if anyone wants to connect, if not I will be home for the next couple of days to try this out-just let me know.

Ugh, I still haven't gotten it from Amazon.com yet. I preordered the game there because no tax and free shipping... even though I was aware that they said it wouldn't ship until Oct. 24th (even though it came out on the 19th). Sometimes they end up shipping it out earlier. That wasn't the case this time.

Apparently they've "notified the shipper" that they have a package but that's it. Estimated arrival is November 9th. Not cool. :(

Did anyone else buy Contact off Amazon?
 
Yeah, I got my Contact off of Amazon. It just arrived today.

And on a side not for the few of us with Contact: Are any of you experiencing game-crippling glitches? For me, this has happened twice. I'm fighting a monster and then boom all of a sudden, I no longer attack and I can't move out of my 1x1 square. It's really frustrating and I've just begun the game.
 
So yes, there are some tought mother****ers to fight after you beat the game

found one in the
habara race car arcade cabinet; basically a beefed up troll
and another
outside the cabin at frt eagle

500 hp per hit, but I do have a strategy for killing the second one, just need to fill my tech meter up.

Need some help getting the last decal sticker though, I have no idea where it is.

Got mine from Best Buy on Monday but have ordered games and similar from Amazon before with super saver--my experience is that when Amazon "notifies" the USPS (which is who they usually use), that's the day they've shipped it, and the USPS shipping record generally doesn't filter in until after they've delivered it. 2-3 business days. Usually 1 in my case if it ships from Amazon's warehouse two states over. I've had the amusing pleasure of recieving a package then recieving a "we've shipped your package" e-mail that night.

I cannot say I've had any such glitches.

Anyway, I'm up on WFC right now at 7:45 est, and will stay up till around 9 or 10, if anybody wants to connect.
 
Anybody playing this still? XD I wanna connect to somebody just to have the experience. Seems like either no one has/can find the game or everyone's done with it.

I love the differing aesthetics of the two screens, the settings, the localisation but I really don't like how passive an experience the combat system is in Contact. I want to like this game, but I'm just not having much fun when working my way through the dungeons.
 
There we go. Made contact with Neko and fallengorn.

I'll stop playing Magical Starsign for a bit so I can leave Contact up... in the event that anyone else wants to log on.
