So, if he wraps this thing up....VP? I don't think it'll be Clinton, just because she really is divisive.....maybe Edwards?

Someone with a bunch of foreign policy experience that can carry a state.

Howard Fineman saying on MSNBC that Clinton's plan now is to minimize Obama's lead in pledged delegates and then use the superdelegates to steal the nomination.
Maybe I'm wrong . . . but I don't think Hillary would really do that. If she did, she would just be handing the election to McCain and she'd be so hated. I don't think she is that much of a power-miser.

But I could be wrong.

She's going to attempt it. She'll fail, but she'll attempt it.

She'd do it. And I'd hate her forever if she did.

Oh lawdy.

Who predicts a 10 point margin for a crossover black candidate in DC?

Who predicts that narrow a margin for Maryland, which went for Paul f'n Tsongas?

PD needs a filter that prevents him from writing in the declarative mood.

Senators should never, ever pick senators as running mates.

Edwards doesn't add any value or win any votes outside of what Obama gets on his own. What he needs is a governor with executive experience, who is older, who's respected by both the establishment and has the chance of pulling a demo he doesn't reach on his own.

I think right now, the only obvious person to ask is Bill Richardson. If Ted Strickland weren't such a Clinton tool, he might be a worthwhile choice as well.

Richardson it is!
Good point.

Could carry his home state, much foreign policy experience, and brings in latino vote.

He is kinda dull though . . . and he hardly passes for latino with the name 'Bill Richardson'.

I think this anti-hope platform for McCain is really strong.

"We are the makers of history, not its victims!"

WHHHHOOOOOOOOO!!!!!

the guy is insanely smart and very likable... he is the vp.

I swear I've been saying to friends and family for about 9 months now that Obama/Richardson should be the ticket. If we are going to elect an african american president why not really go all the way and make a latino VP. Really shake things up.

Richardson seems like the obvious choice but I'm not 100% sure yet. The way Obama is going he might not need Richardson, and it'll be suspicious if Richardson doesn't endorse Obama soon. Plus considering Obama's tendacy to act natural instead of political, and the horror stories he has probably heard from Kerry, I think Obama might go with his gut. Which is why I'm thinking Kaine

RurOni, we're gonna need another thread. What should we call the Hawaii/Wisconsin primary? I've got "Hawaiian Pizza".... yeah, nothing.

I would've said Webb. Hes moderate, strong on foreign policy (Reagan's Sec of Navy; war hero), and against the war from the start (his son is serving in Iraq). Good match against McCain

but... he voted for Telecom immunity today

At least he showed up, unlike Hillary, I guess
