PSV really don't want to go to Anfield an away goal down. Hopefully the game will become more open in the second half as they chase a result.

When is Bellamy coming on for Kuyt already? He's worked hard as ever, but he really isn't a threat. Bellamy's pace could tear this defence apart.

Can you start picking against Arsenal, please!!! :D

:lol

I know I should.
To be fair, the sentence was "Liverpool are going to piss all over PSV".

I'm glad PSV are being taught a lesson though, sad that it wasn't Arsenal that did it.

Ouch.

73 mins PSV have made another change but I didn't see who it was. In truth it doesn't really matter - the substitute clearly isn't as good as the bloke he's replaced otherwise he would have started, and the guys who did start were all pretty useless.

*TV image cuts to fat, unhappy PSV fan in crowd*

Commentator: "Come on, you've missed a good meal for this"

:lol As if his night wasn't bad enough! So cruel.

:lol Kuyt has delibrately got a yellow card so he misses the next game when the tie is basically won rather than possibly missing a later game. And he's grinning away.

Liverpool's new owners really impress me. I mean really, really impress me. Two games gone since they officially took over, I've seen them celebrating in the crowd (and it looks genuine, often Abramovich looks like he's just playing a role, very uncomfortable), interviews with both of them after the games and everything they're saying makes sense.

I wish they'd bought Blackburn.

It looked bad, the analysts on ITV said that's one of the injuries that is potentially career threatening. Let's hope not, it's always the most depressing thing when a player has to retire before their time. Then again, remember when Sissoko had that eye injury which supposedly was more likely to be the end of his career than not, then he was back in no time.

if my betting continues to go well I might buy Blackburn

only to sell them again

...can I run them? My first task will be to move Ewood Park hundreds of miles south to just over the road from me, where we should attract a bigger fanbase as the biggets team around here is Swindon Town.

Good win for Liverpool, PSV looked like a side with no confidence at all. What did Koeman tell them at half time? Go out and play worse?
Great yellow card by Kuyt though - the ITV commentators were wondering if he'd try it.:lol

Also, I like the yellow strip!

There's a lot of football coming up btw, just looking at Englihs teams. We have the other CL games tomorrow, finally a UEFA Cup game I'm really looking forward to on Thursday (Sevilla v Spurs), plus two Premiership matches on friday and the usual weekend stuff.

So tomorrow's games now. I have backed Chelsea to go through, but I'm under no illusions of Valencia's strength. I'm gonna watch the Roma v United game though, if the latter can come anywhere near the way they played on Saturday then it'll be the game to see.

Saha and Fletcher are back in the squad, but I'm not sure either will start. Park's injured, but I'm guessing Ferguson will stick with the same formation. That should mean bringing in Solskjaer, but whether Solskjaer will just directly take Park's position on the attacking right or if he'll go up front, moving Giggs to left wing and Ronaldo to the right, I'm not sure.

I'm looking forward to seeing what Roma are made of, they've done well in Serie A and knocking out Lyon was impressive. Time for United to show the same strength they have in the Premiership in Europe though, it seems to me.

Also, I like the yellow strip!

I don't mind yellow strips generally, so I think it's the yellow with the red trimming. It's like...it's like finding blood in your egg yolk.

of course I'll let you run them.

I've thought about it and I think that buying Blackburn with betting isn't very realistic. I could still charge it on my credit card though.

Hah, like anyone would give you a credit card. Professional gambler isn't a recognised job!

I'm going to join betfair soon I think. Not to bet on Premiership matches regularly yet, need a few more sets of matches to check before I'm confident in my system (getting the gambler lingo down there), but I can have a go at multiples. I don't mind spending £2 a week so long as the potential win is at least £100, I should only have to win once a year to cover it. And even if I don't win at all, I better bloody well be making more than £2 profit an average week on the Premiership to cover it.

I'm conflicted

On the one hand I think I'd prefer AC Milan if we get past Roma (big if)

on the other hand AC Milan shouldn't even be in the tournament.

Hmmph

holy shit at that Bayern vs. Milan game. the ref tried to rob Bayern but Buyten wasn't havin it! that was f'n amazing. talk about "refusing to lose". wow.

Damn Baby! Damn it! It was one of the worst matches in this season. Milan played like shit but they made their goals. The same goes for Bayern. Nevertheless the last 10 minutes were like "wow". And I was like "wow" as well. It was truly amazing! **** the rest! Bayern is ready to own the Champions League!! Even with a bad day they are able to fight against Miland. What happens if they got a good one?

Yeeeah >_< Go Bayern!

And of course, here it is: The Picture of the Day!

He was bought for headers...didn't know that he is such a good shooter. The second goal was incredible.

The Allianz Arena will burn next week! Believe me!

you'd think so, but between posting on GAF and running my betting empire I still find time to descale kettles at the office. Sometimes I wonder myself how I do it.

Chivas beats DC United 2-1 and moves onto the CONCACAF final, aggregate score 3-2

Tommorow, Pachuca (0) plays Houston (2) at home for the 2nd spot in the final.

The winner of the CONCACAF cup goes to Japan.

The loss means MLS teams remain winless in competitive matches played on Mexican soil, and puts the league's hopes of having a representative in December's FIFA Club World Cup on Houston Dynamo. The Orange visit Mexican side CF Pachuca on Thursday
Doh! That sucks - we need someone to win down there at some point...

What are your predictions for today's matches?

Roma 0 - 1 ManU

Chelsea 2 - 0 Valencia

And as a Bayern Fan, I want Chelsea in the final :]

Too bad Man Utd will be the team to face them. ;P

On CL: Without Alex PSV looked hideously weak, and unless they pull off some of the most breath-taking attacking football this side of the millenium, the quarters are as far as they go. Not bad for a team at their level. But hot-damn, RIIIIIISE! Amazing goal, and he's so consistent with that swerving, powerful shot on the outside of the left boot. Beautiful.

Otherwise, Bayern as usual made a superb comeback, and while AC Milan dominated some parts of the game, Bayern wasn't playing that bad either, especially when looking at the end-game stats. So, I wouldn't exactly call it a sneak victory... that atrocious penalty is another reason why not. Some terrible decisions were made in the game, including the offside call against Milan's striker (the name escapes me at the moment) -- he definitely looked onside.

Looking forward, Roma is a solid, quality team, but I really think this is Man Utd's year. I won't say the cursed word (
treble
) and jinx it, but I really hope we can win the CL competition this year. And I really think this is Valencia's time to shine. Villa, Morientes. Chelski will find some resistance (see: blatant Napoleonic Wars reference) in Spain. :D

unfortunately it isn't possible anymore for neither manyoo and Chelsea to win a title. I just hope the champions league isn't one of them, or the FA cup for that matter.

Come on Watford!

sorry Mama, I mean Blackburn.

edit:
Blackburn boss Mark Hughes is a surprise inclusion on the shortlist to succeed Jose Mourinho at Chelsea. (Daily Express, Guardian)

I don't agree with this at all. Not quite unsympathetic enough.

AC Milan vs Bayern was surprisingly good. I was expecting a bore draw but it turned out to be an entertaining game. Bayern have a decent advantage. Im not sure if they're going to go through. Milqan have got good attacking players, so they're going to cause some problems. If Bayern can just get a goal at home, then they should be ok.

The decisions in the game were poor, but they balanced themselves out. When kaka should have been given a penalty in the first half, pirlo scored a minute later with a fantastic header. When gilardino's goal was disallowed because the linesman thought it was offside, milan got their goal through penalty.

Im exited about the united game today. Im not sure what to expect. Roma are going to be a tough side to play against and we are very poor in europe. If we do win this game, it wont be an outstanbding performance. We seem to do just enough to get something out of the game.

I think valencia have got a good chance to win, but at the same time i just know chelsea will score a deflected goal or a last minute goal to get them through.

And don't forget: Van Bommel will join the team next week! He's one of the most important players because he grew up to a real captain. Taking all this into consideration I'm really looking forward to the next game!

:lol :lol :lol Posts like this is making me start to root for Bayern. And they've got a team of destiny quality in this year's Champions League...getting two incredibly late goals on the road in back to back rounds is no joke.

after the last game against madrid kahn had to do a doping test. at first he wasnt able to pee. after this the doctor left the room and kahn finally pissed into the bottle. the problem was thart: the doctor has to be in the same room while he is pissing. after saying the test was not acceptable kahn throw the bottle of pee against the wall.

this is no joke, dudes! this is the reason whyhe got suspended for yesterdays match!
