What an awful ref in the Costa Rica-Nigeria match. Sure, the africans are obviously stronger, but he has let them bulldoze our players in the most obvious of ways like 5 times and not one call.

They won fair and square, despite the ref's stupidity, but they didn't really impress me. Of course, our coach, as they always do in my country, was extremely conservative and gave Nigeria the whole initiative and only tried to fix it when Nigeria scored.radiuhm said:

If true then I don't understand Chelsea, in Mourihno's first and second seasons the way they could pressure every team with how they utilised the wingers made them seem invincible, it was amazing in a way but last season when they had less width they were a weaker team, and they kept scraping results in the CL.

Maybe Jose got sick to death of Robben's pathetic diving. Drogba didn't dive nearly as much last year, part of the reason why he improved as much as he did. Anyway, if they end up signing Malouda they'll more or less have him replaced, though few wingers can match Robben's electric pace.

Arsenal snap up striker Da Silva
Eduardo is Arsenal's first signing since the departure of Thierry Henry
Arsenal have swooped to sign Croatian international striker Eduardo da Silva from Dinamo Zagreb.
The 24-year-old, who scored against England in a Euro 2008 qualifier in October, has signed a four-year contract at the Emirates Stadium.
The fee is undisclosed and Da Silva will be unveiled as an Arsenal player after completing a medical at the club.
Da Silva moved to Croatia when he was 15 and took nationality at 22. He has scored seven goals for his country.
Da Silva scored the first competitive goal at the Emirates when Arsenal beat Dinamo Zagreb 5-1 on aggregate in last season's Champions League third qualifying round.

thanks for the video Ronok, he definitely likes to get on the end of things, probably exactly what we've been missing. Also very good in the air it seems. Does he have the necessary quality to convert this to the Premiership? Time will tell, but as always, I completely trust Wenger's judgement.

I was kind of expecting us to sign Huntelaar, but we've signed a similar guy and probably did for less money. The 24 million Euros part is a bit hard to believe btw

6 out of his 7 international goals came in the qualifiers btw, so we're not talking friendlies here. Good stuff.
The more video's I watch the better I feel about this signing really. Most of his goals are coming from 1 or 2 touches whilst I felt a lot of good chances for Arsenal last season came from taking too much time on the ball. You can also tell he's very confident about his goal scoring.
