Official Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Demo Thread

Isn't G25 the official Prologue wheel in Japan? I'm not sure if they'll come out with a completely new wheel for GT5.

Polyphony said there was going to be a new Logitech wheel released around the same time as the full version of GT5. The G25's MSRP is too high to be the official wheel.

So I just got my new PS3 today :D

I want to download the GT5 Prologue demo. I created a JP account and all but I CANT FIND IT! :(

Did they take it out? I found a "GT HD concept" demo on the EU store... Is it the same one?

I am sorry, but the demo was a time-limited offer, they removed it during the last PSN store update.

Think I'm gonna have to track myself down a Jap PSN card.

Tanod's weekly PSN updates have a link to a shop that scans and emails you the codes. I've yet to do it, but definitely want GT sooner rather than later.

Any word on the Japanese pricing for this? I'd like to purchase some PSN cards in advance (as I assume they'll be hard to come by once this hits).

I think it's supposed to be around 4000 yen or about $35 - $45.

Cool deal. So, is anyone here planning on picking up the Japanese version or just waiting?

I'm hoping someone will send me the Japanese disk, I don't want the download unless I have to.

play-asia has the Japan disc version for $49, and the Asia version for $44. No region protection on either. Would there be any real difference between the two versions?

Will the Jap version have menus available in English or should I wait for the US release?

If the demo is any indication, the menus will be in Japanese. However, someone usually has a translation out fairly quickly, and most of them are self explanatory anyway. I didn't have problems figuring out the Prologue demo's menus.

I will pay no more than 30 for this.

Ok maybe 40.

they just have $60 since they dont know the price... but once price is known, you will end up paying lowest price by the time it ships at Amazon.

Compare GT3 and GT4 sales.

GT3 was the first in the generation on PS2. New car driving physics and graphics engines, features and what not over GT2. GT4 is a refined version of 3. GT5 is all brand new again.

There are a ton of reasons sales of GT4 were less than GT3. Prologue was not one of them. That and North America has never had a prologue release before making the comparison even more invalid.

If it does come out for $60, this is hardcore BOHICA. $40 should be the max like War Hawk.

With the date pushed to feb 19 i guess it fits right around my birthday. But if GT5 proper is going to be shipping in fall...

hmm. i wonder if play-asia have an embargo on jap ps3 for NA.. 'cause if they don't i know what i'll be getting for christmas.

It's Polyphony :lol The game has to be delayed at least twice before it gets released. GT5 has been delayed just once (from spring 2008 to fall 2008). I really don't expect GT5 during 2008 in US/Europe unless Phil Harrison becomes really mad at them (unlikely).
BTW at this point Polyphony should have relased the final track list for GT5P, I want to see that London track (supposedly present in the game).

I wonder who they will use for the final game. Hm..

You mean what car they'll use? Probably whichever one Kaz is in love with at the time. That's the reason why the Ford GT was the car on the cover of GT4. It seems like a pretty big deal whenever they do choose a car since Ford actually released a press release talking about how the Ford GT has been picked as the cover car for GT4.
