It always strikes me as funny that Laker fans are the most up in arms about the Heat getting calls.

As I recall, the Lakers got a shit-ton of calls during their championship runs not all that long ago. Didn't hear any complaints from them then.

i'd be the first to admit that we got a lot of calls, but nothing like what Wade gets. Nobody i've ever seen in NBA history gets these kinds of calls.

Kobe was practically untouchable and Shaq could bulldoze over anyone with his elbows and huge gut without getting called for an offensive foul during the Lakers championship run.

.

Not even Jordan got the calls that Wade gets. Do you really think that Kobe (when healthy) can't just run down the lane and jump into whatever big man he wants? I have seen Kobe try that shit in the past and he stopped doing it because it would result in something embarrassing and he would never get the call.

And it is news to me that only Laker fans have noticed the BS calls that Wade gets.

There's no way Kobe averages 35 ppg in a season without these kinds of ticky tack fouls and huge bias towards wing-players either.

Do you realize Wade shot more fts per game than Kobe last year taking like 9 less shots per game? A non-big averaging close to 30 with no 3pt range to speak of was unheard of before D-whistle..

Jordan had little to no three point shot throughout his career and averaged 30 PPG. Adrian Dantley had a number of 30+ PPG seasons and he never took threes. Robertson, West, Barry, Maravich, and Baylor each had 30+ PPG seasons without the three point line.

Somewhere, Scott Pollard is sleeping and was whistled for a blocking call on Shaq.

wha, wha. All I know is in the first Lakers/Clippers game, Lakers had 46 FTA and Clips had 21. Whats up with that!!!! :D

Edit: Does Wade get more calls than Kobe? Based on last years stats..

Wade: 803 FTA last year. Basically .57 FT's for every shot attempt. 7% of shot attempts were 3 pointers (which was only 76 out 1413 FGA).

Kobe: 819 FTA last year. basically .38 FT's for every shot attempt. 24% of shots were 3-pointers (which was a 518 of 2173 FGA ).

You guys can analyze these numbers how you may. I basically get from this is Kobe shoots alot of outside shots, and but still gets plenty of calls and gets to the free throw line. Wade does not shoot alot from the outside, and is known as a drive to the rim guy. The way these guys styles play out is, I think for the most part, Wade is going to get more free throws than Kobe, just because Kobe is always shooting from the outside.

Are the calls Wade is getting super lame? Some of them, yea. But people get in the groove when they see one bad call, they think every call from then on out is a bad call. I've seen Lebron and Kobe get some really bad phantom calls, especially when Kobe screams all super loud when he goes to the rim or something.

Just to compare to other players (last year's stats)

Ray Allen .23 FT's per FGA. 46% of his shots are 3's.
Dirk: .38 FT's per FGA. 17% of shots are 3's.
Rip: .22 FT's per FGA. 9% of shots are 3's.

Plus in foul differential this year, Lakers are on top of Miami
http://www.nba.com/statistics/sortable_team_statistics/sortable3.html?cnf=1&prd=1#top

So overall, Lakers are getting alot of calls. Remember that Rockets/lakers overtime game? Lakers had 32 FTA and Rockets had 11. That is weird too.

Just based on Wade and Kobe, Wade is getting about 2 more FT's a game this year than Kobe. So basically an extra foul is being called for Wade (or he is driving more times that Kobe, if you want to look at it that way).

Somewhere, Isiah Thomas is planning on using the mid-level to ink Webber next year.

Oh BTW Eddy Curry 24 and 10 against the Kings yesterday. The way the East centers are he should make the All-Star team.

Shouldn't that be 268 shots???????????????????????????

You're only saying that because Frankenstern is Manu's illegitimate son.

I realize I'm waaaaaay late to the party here but I just watched the clip of Tony Allen being a dumbass and tearing his ACL. Keep up the good work, Celtics. Your continued ruination is my ultimate goal as well.

Funny he didn't show it tonight.

ORLY? The boxscore wants to have a word with you. Dwyane Wade OUTPLAYED Kobe last night. He was the better man period. Also, for those idiots who claim Dwyane Wade gets "phantom" calls you are either blind or don't want to admit he gets fouled everytime he drives to the hoop. Are there bad calls every now and then? Yes. Still doesn't negate the fact that Wade gets fouled more than any player in the league because he attacks the basket like no other.

Yeah sure Wade ****ing choked

What game were you watching? The only choke I saw was Kobe trying to flop into Haslem in the final seconds of the 4th quarter. Kobe was driving in the lane only to have his butt rejected by the defense and then cry when he missed.

---It's called defense Kobe. Like when Wade stole it from you on that garbage pump fake and dunked it.---

Anyways...
The reason the Heat lost is because of the midget in the middle Rothstein. Why the F is Jason "One dimensional wonder" Kapono getting more minutes than Dorell "The Wrighteous One" Wright? Oh great, Kapono gets a couple 20+ point games against mediocre teams then all of a sudden he has a starting job at SF? WTF ROTHSTEIN. Kapono was getting burned on the defensive end, he's a huge liability. WHY DID WRIGHT ONLY PLAY 4 MINUTES?!

FREE DORELL!

Also, could Doug Collins lick on Kobe's nuts more than he did last night? Wade was a beast in the first half and all Collins could talk about was Kobe's "distributor" role BS. It doesn't stop there, then he goes on to insult D-Wade by saying he gets away with things, WTF. If anyone gets all the garbage calls it's Kobe with those flying elbows of his.

It's funny though...
The key to the Lakers victory was all the three pointers they made. They SHOULD have won by 20+, yet the Heat lost in overtime and on the road, much props to our squad (even under a horrible coach).

T-mac from the playoffs against Dallas is back :o

Come on man. Take a look outside your miami heat fanboy bubble. Wade gets BS calls ALL the TIME. "He attacks the basket like no other" Are you kidding me? Kobe attacks just as hard. LeBron Attacks just as hard. They do not get the calls Wade does. Kobe got ****ing harassed last night damn near every play, and it was painfully obvious. The difference is that Kobe can overcome the BS officiating and still kick ass night in and night out

Wade gets plenty of BS calls (and I am a Heat fan), but come on, step out of your Lakers bubble here, you take one of Wade's fake calls and magnify it so much. Kobe got hacked several times last night and didn't get it, but there were also plays where it was NOT a foul and they called it. It's clearly inconsistent officiating, no clear player bias.

Plus, look at the earlier post...Wade DOES go to the basket more often than either of those players. Therefore, it means that there are more bogus calls and more free throws for him. And more "FRANKENSTERN" posts from yall.

Cerrius, our own Flash did choke last night. He didn't make a shot when we really needed it, and screwed up that last play...Smush was standing RIGHT THERE. At least throw it to someone else...

He needs to learn to stop ****ing passing the ball while jumping in the air.

I know there are bs calls. And a Few finally fell to us late, but that doesnt make up for the whole game being lopsided in favor of the calls from the heat. and they get that EVERY NIGHT. And its been that way for a while now.

Then you could make it like a chicken and egg thing. Does Wade drive a lot more because he knows he'll get the calls? Or does he get more calls because he drives a lot more? Other players may not drive more because they know they won't get the calls (see: Brandon Roy)

AI drives to the basket as much as anybody. There's a reason that no one complains about the fouls on him.

Who cares? He couldn't put the game away in overtime with one of his patented drives to the hole. :lol

I saw enough bullshit fouls on Wade in the playoffs last year to be suspicious. Every Heat game I see that he plays in, he gets at least 2-3 questionable fouls. It's enough to make anyone wonder what's up with some of these calls.

Holy crap at T-mac :o

It wasn't lopsided. There was a lot of bullshit to go around, like all these "blocking" fouls called on Miami's forwards...

Seriously, there were 2 bullshit fouls called in favor of Wade. But they truly called some sillyass fouls for the Lakers that don't even affect the play...

wtf D. George give me a break :\

Would ne nice if some other Rockets could make some shots tonight.

I hated T-Mac taking all those shots in the first half. No one else is even in rhythm right now. Hopefully in the 4th the other Rockets can get on track as T-Mac looks like he is cooling off fast.

edit - It is like everyone besides T-Mac is scared to shoot!!!
