its better being 26-14 than 17-21 :lol

That's true. Can't argue with that. But I'll take a 6 point loss to the best record team over a loss to an extremely undermanned team anyday.

Wade got way too cocky. He made a three earlier but...can't make em all. They didn't even get a timeout to draw a play but...did he NOT see the lane WIDE open for a two??

That's 17-21in the pathetic EC! Shaq or no Shaq, that's inexcusable...

Let's compare the Lakers and Hornets main rotation from last night..

Are the Lakers really favored to win against that team on the road w/o Lamar and Kwame with West and Jackson back?

Some games were without Wade!

And don't forget you're talking about a team that has Walker, Payton, and a bunch of little kids on the bench. Those players are such grandpas, you have to expect them to be absolutely WORTHLESS early on.

-They may be worthless later on anyways. Keep tuned.

How the **** is Arenas not a starter for the East? Still not getting the respect he deserves.

He'll probably just score a 100 points to blow off his frustration. Guy knows how to work with a chip on his shoulder.

Even with them back I doubt the Lakers would be favored to win on the road much. We suck shit away from Staples and LIGHTS OUT.

Except in San Antonio am i rite

Yes, I consider the Lakers a west contender, and losing to team missing their best player/playmaker isn't good. Of course, I don't really give a shit about what happens in the regular season cause every team sucks ass once in a while against bad teams (Cavs beating the Spurs on the road)

but they don't need Lamar to beat lower ended teams, and you've seen that from them.

Miami will trade some bench players and maybe Walker for JO'Neal or Gasol :\

AK47 is a few games away from being on the block too

Also Maggette is still up for trade.

I'd love to have a pair of O'neals, but what does that mean for Udonis?

I'm 50/50 on walker. sometimes he makes good plays that are just ugly as shit to watch, and half the time he can't handle the ball worth shit.

yeah bring Jermaine over please

Is this a homer accusation?

I don't even know what that means.

My point is that guys like Cerrius are usually the most vocal on the boards when the Heat win, i.e. Christmas Day but on days like today, he is completely silent.

I find it amusing.

to be fair, he could be away from the computer or maybe at the game

A homer is someone who supports the home team while listening to no reason from outsiders. Everybody here would call me a total homer if I said "WADE GOTZ DA BEST 3 PT SHOT IN THE NBA MY MAN JUST WUZNT FEELIN IT THERE"

Actually, Bulls fans tend to be very homer-ist. Take for example

"Nobody can stop the Bulls. They're going to make all their shots if they have good ball movement, and if we miss, Ben Wallace will get us the offensive rebound and will score on a put back"

Trade him to the Spurs for Brent and Beno. The Spurs were close to signing him a few years ago but he wanted to play in his hometown -_-'

I'll take Brent's awesome three point shot, you guys can keep Beno.

I know what a homer is.

I was just unclear as to what you meant by homer accusations.

Cerrius was telling me the other day that Wade's midrange shot is falling a lot. I consider that homer on his part =P Then I took a look at his recent shot chart and it was X all over the place from 15-20 feet.

Today, I was actually satisfied by the way he shot. I hadn't seem him shoot this well from the outside for a long time, and he didn't even attack a lot...didn't go to the basket much, only drew 2 fouls or so.

It's real kiddo

Call For Defense
Jan 21 - Kevin O'Connor (Utah Jazz) isn't promising a deal, just that he will be making a lot of telephone calls.

"We will be active," he said. "Whether that turns into something, I don't know."

The Los Angeles Clippers' Corey Maggette and Toronto's Mo Peterson are available, according to numerous league sources. But both players are known more for their offense than their defense.

If O'Connor trades for a perimeter defender, the primary bait would likely be veterans Gordan Giricek, Jarron Collins or Rafael Araujo and his expiring $2.4 million contract. -- Salt Lake Tribune

Jan 21 - Unhappy with Beno Udrih, the Spurs are on the prowl for a more dependable two-way, pass-and-shoot point guard.

Meanwhile, when approached by the Clips a couple weeks ago concerning a possible swap of Udrih and Brent Barry for Corey Maggette, the Spurs astonishingly rejected the notion. You figure it out! "They're only interested in players with expiring contracts," offers a rival executive. -- New York Post

Informed sources near the Indiana Pacers situation suggest that Jermaine O'Neal may be a lot closer to being dealt than even he will admit. A few weeks ago, O'Neal announced that if he could not get the Pacers turned around, maybe it was time for him to go.

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/rumors/...lt=AsVCTg1Y6Uf4yuhMqRY0s8W8vLYF?urn=nba,21816

SALT LAKE CITY -- Utah Jazz owner Larry Miller said Andrei Kirilenko, his highest-paid player, is "putting himself on thin ice" with inconsistent play and complaints about his role on the team.

Wade with another phantom injury in a big game that mysteriously disappears after a few minutes?

I don't even see players with real injures act like Wade. Even when Grant Hill breaks his ankle every year he doesn't grimace and limp around as much as Wade.

Oh well, that is enough hate for now. But this bothers me much more than the FTs. It isn't like other players complain when they get bullshit calls.

come on man, you're better than that. i'm a resident wade hater, but even i know that injury was legit. he stepped on dirk's foot and went out of the game.

Next time you play some pickup ball and land on someone's ankle awkwardly, you're not allowed to grimace or want to stop playing for a second.

I don't even see what's the big deal with him "acting" when the injury's not serious, like actually tearing a ligament. There's got to be better reasons to hate? I hate Raja Bell more than most players because he is a Grade-A douchebag, he tries to act all tough and all he can show for it is a clothesline on a player and he can't do shit but shoot threes from Nash passes.

BTW, you don't get to see Grant Hill grimace a lot because in the past he was rarely on the court to begin with.

Truth on that, wood. Hate Wade, but the injury was legit. I'm just sick of the announcers making us aware of it everytime he touches the ball.

Either way, a win is a win. Now the Suns need to lose. I'm sick of them being #1 on the Hollinger Power Rankings on ESPN. I know they mean nothing, but it's still annoying when we've beat them twice already.

Hollinger puts the Suns at one because...he chooses to figure all this stupid math in there. It doesn't even make sense, he wants to have an NBA BCS type thing, but his formula is just the worst thing ever invented and needs to be taken off ESPN.com ASAP.

If anything, Mavs are #1 based on their record...but Suns beat opponents by a lot, so that figures into it. Never mind the fact that Dallas has beaten them twice and...

STFU.

I don't make it a priority to huddle around my computer and post on GAF after every Heat game. No way I waste a lovely Sunday afternoon in Miami shooting down Laker trolls in this thread.

Anyways.....

The Heat played outstanding today. An injured D-Wade, injured Pat Riley, and Shaq-less Heat took the supposedly "best team in the league" to the final seconds. The Mavericks have been blowing teams out all season, yet failed to do it against us.
Much props to our squad! Get well soon, Pat!

and pheeniks: You only support the Heat because of Wade, get the hell out of here bandwagoner!

What makes you think I'm on the Heat bandwagon? You're in no position to be calling me a bandwagon fan :lol

The reason I get annoyed with Wade is that he does this so often it becomes ridiculous. And yes I have landed on other people's feet before and sometimes I roll my ankle, but it is impossible to predict how serious it is. Sometimes you can just bounce right back on your feet after a minute and other times it can be serious (tore my ACL once that way). I can't totally blame Wade because the douchebag announces act like he is playing a wheelchair, but how many games have we seen Wade get "injured", he limps around like he can barely move for about 5 minutes, and then suddenly he is faster than he was before the injury. I give most guys the benefit of the doubt on injuries, but it has happened so often that I feel I have to call him out on it.

And as much as Wade annoys me, you are obviously right that he is not in the class of a slimeball like Raja Bell. I have never seen Wade do anything dirty or cheap.
