Uhh going by the replay, he gets blocked and then quite clearly intentionally elbows him. That was NOT a natural movement of his arm.. it was a backwards swat essentially. Good decision.
I agree. I mean it's obvious the way the guy looks back at Manu like "B*tch@ss, that's what you get for blocking my shot, fool". In Kobe's defense he probably thought the way Manu looked he was a large white woman.

Portland has been offered.....

Pau Gasol for LaMarcus Aldridge, Jamaal Magloire, and Sergio Rodriguez

Kobe clearly swung his elbow back into Manu's face. I don't know what replay your watching if you say thats a natural movement...(maybe a ghost pushed his arm)

Edit: If they gonna call fouls for flopping, they should call fouls for stuff like Kobe (or anybody, I hate when Casssel does it) flapping his arms like an arse to get a weak call...

thats such bullshit. Kobe flailed his arm because he was trying to draw a foul on a last second play. **** Stern and Stu jackson. Assholes just trying to keep Kobe down so the people don't realize how much better he is than their golden boys Lebronze and D-Whistle.

Oh for the love of god no. Gasol is good player.. when he's motivated, but geezus. I can't stand his bitching everytime he's called for a foul, or thinks he's fouled.. which is everytime he misses a shot.

Also.. I'm not a fan of Kobe or the Lakers at all.. but getting suspended for that is ridiculous. Players swing out their arms out alll the time. Most the time when they get stripped. To me, it just looked like Kobe was trying to get a call or get the ball back. That's gotta be a first though, Manu actually got hit hard enough where he wasn't flopping.

Kobe was clearly trying to hit Ginobili in the head after being blocked. the greats don't let Ginobili block them in crunch time.

Kobe's thug cred now in the red. It hasn't been this low since he got beat up by a Ferengi.

OMG the quotes are gold: Read from bottom up

Kobe even admited to "flaring his arm out to try and accentuate the foul". And seriously, **** the league for waiting till 24 hours AFTER The game to decide it was a foul. DIDNT THE REFS SEE THE FOUL WHEN IT HAPPENED. I hate the NBA for their inconsistencies. They were just trying to help a superstar win a game by letting all Kobes shit slide, then when HE STILL LOSES ANYWAY, they decide it would look good if they covered their tracks.

That backhand was not intentional? hahaha, Manu does what great defensive basketball players do best: get under the competitions skin. Kobe cracked and lost control of his actions trying to pay Manu back for that mean block. Too bad it was sooooo obvious, kinda like his mocking/taunting of Horry after getting away with a foul that easily could have cost the Lakers the game in regulation.

I didn't say I don't appreciate what Maradona did for my country's sport history. As matter of fact I do and I also consider he was a better team player than Kobe is. My point was that there's no way you can put Manu in the same group.

It's funny... what you're saying is pure Italian heritage. Italians are very emotional and we in Argentina have taken it from them.

Anyways... we've made our points clear. At least you're someone with whom one can share an opinion even when not on the same side. I'd be good to have more conversations like this one.

akdmiademivida: Seriously? You don't appreciate what maradona did for the country of Argentina? I think that's your problem... you hold these atheletes to such standards that you fail to appreciate their game for purely what its worth. You cloud your views because of their obvious flaws in their "ethical standards" but their still only humans... they are only magnified so much because they're always in the spotlight...

Yes you are, but your eyes are clouded with biases. You seem to let your emotions make your judgement.

In the OJ case, there was over whelming evidences towards OJ's guilt. The inept prosecution team and judge turned a trial into a Hollywood circus.

But hey, do as you please. Just to let you know I believe Kobe deserved a one game suspension for this act.

I never made a comment about the play in discussion. I will now because some of you are taking for granted things I don't think nor believe. I think it was an offensive foul an Manu should have won the game from the line. Too bad the refs gave Kobe a hand... it would have been great for Manu! Fortunately, the game still ended up going to the Spurs!

Yeahhh... whatever. I prefer to make my own conclusions and not to take what they want us to believe. I was just trying to explain the way I think. In your way to see the things.. should we just take OJ is also innocent? Aren't we entitled to the right of doubt and make our own decisions?

What a ridiculous suspension. Is the NBA going to start suspending all-players for inadvertent contact?

come on stern, make a shaq vs kobe finals happen, the ratings would go through the roof.

YOU'RE the reason I have to put up with those ABC Christmas Laker/Heat borefest. GET HIM GAF!

Lakers should be able to squeak by w/o Kobe tonight. The REAL losers in this are the Boston Celtics tomorrow. I'm calling 60...

:lol :lol :lol
Portland would be retarded to make that trade... hope I didn't jinx it :|.

Wow! Kobe got jobbed pretty hard on that suspension. I no longer like the guy, but that was just plain unfair. A foul? Sure. A suspension? I guess Flopzilla strikes again. PEACE.

Oh man, I hope so. I have to cut down on the Lakers games I can watch because of coursework piling up but you can bet I'll always take time out to see the Bhoys (potentially) get taken behind the shed.

I am so excited to bring Eddie back to the Heat. We're going to bring back a player that can play something that slightly resembles defense, and a good three point shooter. and finally a guy that has the capability of being that "third" scorer, if he's still got it. Not to mention, someone who wants to win. Hopefully he isn't last year's derek anderson, who didn't even get to play much.

WELCOME BACK EDDIE.

Where was Shaq's suspension for this?

Should have been suspended, but you failed to show the picture where Bynum's punk ass hit Shaq first.

In all seriousness though, this suspension is retarded. Stu Jackson is a dumbass, I hope his ass gets shelved soon...the NBA is going straight to hell if he's ever made commissioner.

woodchuck said:
lol. Bynum gave Shaq a little bump to the chest. Shaq gave Bynum an elbow to the neck.

That makes no difference, a hit's a hit especially according to stu jackson, in which kobe "struck" manu

I have no idea where this one came from though, I guess now everyone's gonna cry suspension when they get hit on accident.

the NBA is becoming the NFL, the NO FUN LEAGUE

pheeniks said:
that wasn't a 'hit' but it was uncalled for.

shaq didn't hit bynum either. he elbowed him.

which is a lot worse and should have at least warranted some disciplinary action besides a technical.

usually, when a player gets shoved a little, he shoves back. he doesn't elbow someone to the neck.

why the **** is it so quiet in the Garden? Damn Isiah has really sucked the life out of Knick fans.
The most valuable sports franchise in the world if I'm not mistaken. Just amazing the depths of suck they've probed. PEACE.

:lol Arenas is a bad ass

The Pistons tried to double him, he split the double, drove to the hole and got a foul

Cook :lol did that in honor of Kobe.

Lakers are shit without Kobe.

what a cluster**** of a game. Crawford running out of bounds was quite hilarious though.
In all fairness Crawford was Smushed out of bounds. I blame the ragged play on no Q-Rich and Marbury playing hurt (w/ his knee tendinitis he only looks to score for a quarter).

Still a win for the Knicks and LA fans everywhere got to remember what an All-Star caliber center really looks like.
