Official Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princess thread

the dogs seem really small in comparison - maybe its the camera angle ` distance that made the undead bone-skeleton dogs seem big in the trailers and pics.
Yeah it's the angle.

I was surprised you see them so late in the game, the GDC and E305 Trailers gave me the impression they would be seen more frequently.

yeah. that last post of mine was rushed and done on Wii. I meant to elaborate alot more.

my main point was, and still is, (even though I didn't say it) is that the fights with the large Skeleton Dogs (and Soldiers) seemed to be much more intense & deadly in the trailer, plus the newly discovered footage posted tonight / last night. the dogs in the final game seem like nothing to kill, done seem fearsome. I was really, really disappointed in that aspect as well as a few others -- still, that won't stop me from saying this is the best Nintendo game ever made, it still is IMO.

Finally I may come into this thread as finals, work, family/social life and other events prolonged my playing of Twilight Princess this long. I enjoyed it this way though, as satisfactory as it is to destroy a game in 2-3 days, it's pretty sweet playing a big chunk, mulling it over, playing a big chunk, mulling it over... and so on. Anywho, I have avoided this thread to not have anything spoiled and will begin making a sad attempt at skimming some pages in this thread.....thread summary anyone?

Most definitely

The NP Soundtrack has a track called 'Orchestrated Piece #2', which implies more...

I really hope Nintendo releases the OST soon, I want to hear more orchestrated songs that didn't make it to the game, because the one in the soundtrack sample is excellent...

One thing that bugs me, the boss and mini-boss fighting tunes are not very good... even the ones from TWW are better (there are some fighting songs from TWW still stuck in my head :) )...

There was so much speculation over who this was. And it never even made it in.

I'm thinking it became those
guys that guarded the master sword

Nice, they could very well be, indeed :)

I'd love to know the stories behind the scrapped stuff. Like how they thought all that stuff would fit into the story.

Anyone notice in that pic..that he/she legs are like..joined with the ground? Could've been like..a Tree spirit..whats those things in LOTR?

So I just entered the Temple of Time and saved. I'm done for the night.

I'm about 35 hours into the game.

How much longer until the ending? I don't want it to end, its great...but I just want to know lol..

I'm not going to lie to you. You're in the last dungeon.

Your close..but not to close. You have another 1-5 hours ahead of you..how ever long you wana stretch it.

Oh and I forgot to say. When you're in
Hyrule castle and are about to get the boss key and encounter all those enemies..then those 3 people the pub (forgot their names) save you..thats badass

Hopefully this dungeon is the greatest :) I really enjoyed the Snow dungeon though so I dunno how it could top that.

(BTW I thought there was still a Heaven dungeon or something?...so this isn't the last dungeon?)

1-5?! 10-15 at the very least.
There is still 3.5 dungeon ahead and some other stuff AND then the final battles

it did :( I'll just pretend i never read it or I won't play Zelda for a year so next time i continue it will be erased from memory.

That's hardly 'badass'. Link could have finished those 4 or 5 amateur enemies off himself.
They could have been involved against Ganon...THAT would be badass

I clocked in over 60 hours and I only have 7 poes left to find but I'm not going to play again. I think they should have added more insects and heart pieces to find in this game (6 hearts = 1 full container). There were many areas in the game that I felt i had nothing to do..

what?
all they do is ruin a perfectly good fight. There should have been a darknut or something as well though.

I was like 'Oh, I can easily beat them.'

Uh, NO they shouldnt have. I forced myself to get all the insects for the hell of it, but Im not going to say it was fun. And what do I get?
A bigger wallet, after she gives me thousands of dollars with my already maxed out wallet, and when $ at that point in the game is pretty much absolutely useless. And I got most of the bugs in one run after beating the game- why do I have to give her each bug INDIVIDUALLY? That was just odd, and it took like 10 minutes just handing her the bugs.

As for heart-pieces, I know its tradition and it may be sacrilgous for me to suggest this, but I wouldnt mind if they scrapped the whole thing. The concept is neat in theory, but the system is broken. Its become so that the ONLY reason you would bother to get pieces is if you're a completionist, as in terms of help they really offer none.

Man that was really lame. It was like, "oh hey, you're those guys that we barely saw during the game, why should I care? What's that? You're just passing by? We won't see you again?" Crappy setup, worse payoff.

Man...cmon.

WHAT HAS HAPPENED THIS THREAD HAS DROPPED DOWN!

I'll miss seeing this on the front page :(

Also, are we allowed to post direct pics of later areas in the game now?

What you should try to do is get one of the blocks behind the switch in the center and then arrange the other blocks so one can be pushed toward the block behind the switch and onto the switch. Then use the remaining two blocks to get a block on the switch closest to the doors so you can go anywhere (Hint: use the same pattern as you did before you had three blocks to get the block on switch closest to the doors).

BTW, if you hate this puzzle then the trying to get one of the heart pieces is gonna be hell for you in the future ;)

thanks xavien and blind n fan but umm from what u guys tell me im guessing i need
4 blocks? cause right now i have 3 on the ice and from what both of you guys mentioned u seemingly need 4. if so how do u get the 4rth? the 3rd block was the one that was covered in ice that i came and broke with my ball and chain.

In the final 'temple' who solved the
6 propeller puzzle? There's a treasure box behind a gate that I presume opens if I spin the propellers in the right order. What's inside that treasure?

Another thing I dislike is the lack of variety in treasure boxes. It's either rupees or heart pieces (map/compass/key in dungeons). I think they should have added another collectible that I can gather to help me with battles.

Compass. I think.

Only been playing Zelda for the past few days, but already I love it.. it has brought back some good feelings and memories from when I played Ocarina of Time, and that alone makes it worthy of purchase so far.

Just completed this, took about 70 hours for me.

Great game, awesome dungeon designs.

Somehow I still prefer WindWaker though.

I'm wondering about this to,
after you climb te stairs there is another door that requires a small key, but I havent found it. In fact there are alot of "secondary" rooms in that dungeon.

I guess you and I will just have to keep this thread afloat with our "OMGWTF!"s and our "HOLY SHIT BEST GAME EVER!"s when we finally play it. :D

this was probably said a while ago, but I thought the double clawshot was kinda lame. i think the ability to shoot again once against a wall should've been there once you got your clawshot... couldn't Link just hold onto the surface? :P Not being able to latch onto trees, that got me too

took about 40.5h for me... great game. Last boss battle was good, but I was hoping there was another battle after the last part.

so what are the chances of finding the GC version of Zelda? I looked once at Circuit City and they were sold out. Am I essentially SOL or should I keep trying?

I went to a best buy down here in florida (I'm on vacation down here) to get FFV and there were like 20 copies of Zelda GC on the racks...

(Hint: Check Best Buy)

I agree with Devo.. the hookshot in OoT was so much fun because you were able to explore almost every part of the town at your own will. I felt the clawshot was too restricted in this sense.

oh no, this thread has FALLEN off its sticky position. sigh. well it's the new year, every region and both consoles have the game now.. I really hope it sells well. even if the next console Zelda will be radically different, i still hope Nintendo creates a massive world to explore, even bigger than TP.

This game has HDR lighting

no way. unless its software-based, which i doubt. the Flipper GPU is not capable of HDR lighting - the Flipper GPU which Zelda TP uses, and is not upgraded graphically on Wii, was made in 1998-2000, before HDR was a feature in the highest-end GPUs. HDR did not come about until the last 2-3 years on PC and on Xbox 360, PS3.

I am NOT saying the Wii's Hollywood GPU lacks HDR lighting (wii don't know if it has HDR or not) but the Hollywood is not a factor really for Zelda TP since the game is a GameCube game graphically even on Wii.

THat stumped me for a long time too, and I finished the game without opening that door. To get the key,
go through the right path (left path for wii) before entering the main castle, to where the propeller puzzle is. Lining the wall there is a dig-spot, it will take you to a graveyard area. You need to solve a few puzzles there, and youll eventually get the key. I was dissapointed that wasnt part of the main dungeon, because its so damn easy to miss, and its probably the coolest part of the whole place. I dont understand why they make these kinds of thngs optional, when the castle needed all the meat it could get. Anyway, theres a shitload of chests in that locked door.

I understand your point, but I think that the clawshot is TP is great thanks to the rumble + speaker. Wiimote speaker had been a disappointment for me so far in TP.
And the double clawshot is awesome

I found a copy at Gamestop today, the clerk said they got more copies in on Friday.
