Official Lemmings PS3 thread

Just downloaded it onto the PS3.
The music, animations and graphics are so fine.
It brought me back to the happiest moments of my life.

I've been playing Lemmings since it first came out on the Amiga. As far as I'm concerned, it's the classic to end all classics - like Tetris, except that its addiction is sustained with the brilliance of the level designers rather than a great formula stuck on repeat.

I'm just saying it's like Mario.

You just made your original point more confusing

$2.99? So...if I wanted to buy it, it'd just charge my credit card for $2.99 + tax, right? No points bullshit?

Also, if I bought it on my bro's PS3 but I get a PS3 later, will I be able to redownload it without rebuying it on my PS3?

I'm tempted to get it for $3...

edit: actually, the whole 5 downloads thing would let me download it for free anyway...

Wait, there are more levels out there beyond the initial 40 or so?

Every version of Lemmings I know of has ~120 stages, divided into Fun, Tricky, Taxing and Mayhem difficulty levels. The original Amiga version had four specially themed levels that I haven't seen included in any port.

I thought I read in the press release 60 something, but maybe it's only 40 something. No idea.

Demo is pretty cool, the controller isnt that bad for it as I expected.
I'll be buying this for the full version. :)

Me. And quite frankly, I don't understand the game.
You crazy man.
It's like Oregon Trail - seems stupid in concept but gameplay is ace.
You mean to tell me that you've never snuck and played this game in school when you were in the 6th-8th grade? (depending on age)

Quite easy to understand imo, but can get hard at times (atleast for me).
Now soduku was ****ing confusing for me. Took me like 10 minutes to figure out how to play, and the tutorial really didnt help me much lol. But when I figured it out, its pretty fun. :)

The game is very straightforward. Depending on the level, they give you tools to pass that level. For example, the climber, you use it to clime wall. The topper stop the lemmings from running.

Used to be my fav game. I used to own the game "the lemmings chronicles".. it was good. it had like 3 tribes, classic, egyptian and shadow... For the life of me i cant find it anywhere, and i cant find a way to get it to work on my computer...

i shall live with the memories enshrined in my brain.

I think I scored top 3 in the rankings on the 03/05 map on the lemmings trial. The rankings takes a minute to update so it may be a minute before I find out. :)

I just got it too. It's brilliant (first time buying a lemmings game) and the graphics are beautiful. and at 2.99, I did the "smack that ass" - martin lawrence dance to celebrate.

Damn, I haven't even seen Lemmings in so long...$2.99, that's awesome.

Last time I played it was before my friend's older brother completely broke their computer. :(

I don't know if you've played Pikmin, but think of a 2D Pikmin with all of the pikmin on rails. If you don't intervene, they'll walk into bottomless pits, traps, and carnivorous iguanas (in Oh No! More Lemmings), because the only way to make them stop is to make them blockers - and unless you dig the ground out from under them, the only way to un-stop blockers is to blow them up.

Psygnosis? They were only the publisher of Lemmings. DMA Designs made Lemmings, who later became Rockstar North (who is doing quite well due to the massive success of the GTA series).

I downloaded the demo, I don't understand how to play this! help! what do you do?

I'm able to do crazy Dudley combos in SF3TS but I can't even guide a freakin' Lemming to safety

You have a row of tools along the bottom of the screen. Click on them and then click on a Lemming. That's basically all there is to the game, is those eight tools.

Just finished downloading it at $4 CDN, and when I went back into the store the full game download was nowhere to be seen, only the demo's and vids were up, and Lemmings was taken off that New Stuff list in the top right. Mistake confirmed.

Whoever didn't get it I think has now missed out.

I'm just curious, but does the game not include a manual or help section?
I dont think so. It really doesnt need one. Now, Sodoku on the other hand...

Anyways, somebody check map 3 on the trial version and see if my score is there. :D

did any other sucker pay $5.99 for this earlier?

I know it's only $3, but it's the principle- damnit, now I gotta up my PS Store wallet again in preparation for fl0w. :(

I thought Sudoku is easier to understand than Lemmings :lol Not to mention more popular
Maybe I'm retarded but It took me seriously like 10 minutes to figure out wtf was going on in sodoku. :lol Lemmings was like pickup and play for me, I think I'm in the top 5 rank on a couple trial maps already. :D

I know the price was cheap at $2.99 but never realised it was $6 earlier on, wonder why the price changed randomly.
Probably a mistake (sucks for TheJollyCorner :x). I doubt they would lower the price in just a few hours if they were not selling the thing. Anyways, anybody notice the lemmings videos? I gotta grab a few of those clips. :)

Damnit, it makes me sad that Lemmings will never come out for nintendo ds

I know exactly what you mean. I feel that same way, like a ball stuck in my throat. Its just annoying. But on another note, if there is GTA on GBA, why can't rockstar develop for DS. Also its like Nintendo have sorted out the control method, like DS and Wii. But they just can't get the games. How good would Counter Strike and HL2 be on Wii. Shit like that is what this worlds all about. The coming together of 2 genuis concepts. Nintendo have a lot of money to buy rights, but at the same time they must be very bitter, after the loss of loyalty from developers. They must feel, "you lot can go **** yourself as the DS becomes the hottest thing since sliced bread". Then again its now Iwata, not the old guy. New thinking, forgiven and forgotten. I don't know I am just rambling, thinking aloud. One day, I hope the Wii does do well and great things like this are still to come, once Nintendo have all the 1st party franchises out of the way.

I saw the video of HL with Wii controls, but I always imagined, it to work like a mouse. Where to move the cross hairs on screen, you simply aim. But to move the direction your looking in, you hold a button and aim (look).

That happens normally. It's wierd but when I bought Crash and went back it was gone.

Download is at 38% as I'm writing this. Hurry the **** up, wifi!

I've been playing more stuff from the PS Store than retail games today, amazingly.

I caved in and bought it, disappointed that I had to add a minimum of $5 to the wallet.

And there is a manual in the game, liars :P
