I'm a basic pencil guy.

Another concept image, this time for a short adventure game:

Unfortunately, the game was never made :(

If anyone is still interested in this (you know who you are), then get in touch with me ASAP!

pretty neat concept.

For my fellow Fiora fans. :D

reminds of the days when my notebooks were full of drawings

try using only pen and no pencil:)

One of these days I'll try it, but it won't be pretty. :P I usually do the face countless times till i get something i can live with. If i don't like the face, I just wasted a piece of paper.

If you think deeper about it. It makes sense since then you would be more careful about making mistakes and that before you put down your mark, you already drew it in your mind..so to speak. Drawing with your mind before your hand is very beneficial:)

Just get used to seeing your mistakes instead of erasing and changing...

Sweet thread, some cool stuff in here. I'll refrain from posting most of my stuff, since I don't have anything new and I've posted most of it in these threads before. NICE Nemo and Earthbound there.

Well that explains why I don't feel like I'm getting any better :/. What you say makes alot of sense.

Is the contact between the two completely elastic, right ?

If it is, then we can say:

1) In a closed system the energy is conserved and so:

1/2*m(star,i)*v(star,i)^2 = 1/2*m(star,f)*v(star,f)^2 + 1/2*m(goomba,f)*V(goomba,f)^2

=> v(goomba,f) = 5.65 m*s^(-1)

2) Conservation of Impuls:

m(star, i) * v(star, i) = m(star, f) * v(star, f)*cos(teta1) + m(goomba, f) * v(goomba, f)*cos(teta2)

We know that teta1=26°+14° (changed coordinates of the systems) and teta2 is what we're looking for.

=> teta2 = 304.2° (old coordinates system, 60.2° in the new).

3) Distance between impact and surface of the earth?

Bonus: First law of Thermodynamik is enough. QED.

guys what PC apps do you use to color in your fan art after scanning them?Photoshop or is there a special app used?

I don't scan linework in I do it all digital in Photoshop with a Wacom Intuos3 tablet.
I just play around with different brushes and brush effects.

what does everyone else use?

What settings are you guys using for your tablets when doing line art? I got a tablet as a gift, and I usually would scan my pencils in and paint in PS. I can paint with the tablet well, but doing line art is still kinda wonky. I've got a Graphire4, btw.

All made with Paint, just using the mouse...

Some Electroplankton love...

Depending on the size of the canvas I use the brush tool and one of the small round brushes for the lineart.

If I have a 3000px X 3000px canvas I would use a number 9 brush with size and pressure set to opacity.
I put all the lineart on a top layer and my colors underneath.
This lets me lock the lineart layer later and color it if I want to.

Does that help?
I am not familiar with the graphire's tablet settings so I don't know what you would need to adjust or not to get better results.

As i wrote this morning after discovering Colors DS, i KNEW my life would have been fucked by that incredible application...
So after 6 hours of work, here's my second shot... NiGHTS!!!

I went back to DS Colors after a while, and this is the result:

Please don't mind the mistakes near the borders... it's because of my screen protector.
