Ok, defensively i'll give it to you, ND was "lacking". They had to great players but everyone else, meh. Now you keep bringing up this Michigan State game...are we talking about the same State team who absolutely blew this year? They shouldve never been behind regardless, so no, I cant give you that. I'll give you Penn State which he played well but thats it.

ND had the same type of gamebreakers as OSU and USC offensively, difference is Booty, Smith could get the job done. And Walker going 1300 and 5.0 is anything but inconsistant.

I watched quite a few ND football games the last couple of seasons. The guy had a shit O-line, a a shit defense, and a running back who was totally hit or miss. Seriously, it seemed guys were in his ass as soon as he dropped back to pass. Add to that he ran one of the more complex offenses in college football. Russell may have been a product of his system and his outstanding supporting cast. Bottomline you give Quinn Craig Davis, Dwayne Bowe, and Early Doucet and he is walking away with the Heisman this year.

And hell, in College every game is a big game as 2 losses usually means no hope of a National title, 3 most likely means no BCS game period. He by far played on the worst team of any of the elite QBs in college football.

I liked the other suggestion to just put PacMan Jones on the cover instead, since really it couldn't be a worse football year for him.
 
Interesting. I take it this confirms that this year Madden will have a massively improved throwing-incomplete-passes mechanism, and a new hype-meter feature.

Actually it will introduce the flipper motion of throwing. And if you though Vick was cheese scrambling.....you just know they're going to improve that!

Maybe if you play as the Titans it will make the opposing team automatically throw 3 interceptions for touchdowns, and yet you don't throw any TDs and still become the MVP.
 
I don't think the Dolphins would release him before draft day. Either on draft to get more picks or move up, or after the draft to make sure one of their conference rivals in line for a QB(Browns, Raiders, Bills possibly, maybe even the Chiefs) don't snag him.

But could you imagine LolPepper, Randy Moss, Calvin Jackson, and Joey Porter. As I said before, too much slingin and slangin to compute. They would probably run the ball 3 times a game, if that.

Unlikely - I don't believe that ever happened last season.

David Garrard only threw two interceptions for touchdowns. His third was a fumble for a touchdown, thus showing how versatile a QB he is. His third interception was the one that ended the drive to tie the game, which the Titans couldn't be bothered to return for a touchdown as they were exhausted from running further with the ball in that game than they had all season to date...

Garrard sounds like he might be the next Tommy Maddox if he can keep losing games in that manner.

I think in many ways he's already surpassed him. Maddox never had such a dominating running game to work with, and Garrard takes the high-level strategic game to levels Tommy-Gun could never dream of. Getting a 'just wins' reputation by struggling to victories against teams like the 49ers at their lowest ebb and then single-handedly keeping his team out of the playoffs is a masterstroke.
 
So apparently the Bucs have offered Oakland their 1st, both 2nds(one from Colts) and 3rd round pick to the Raiders to move up to #1. If I was Oakland I'd do that deal in a heartbeat.

The chart doesn't take into account how talent clusters in a given year. It also doesn't take into account how damnably expensive players taken right at the top of the draft can be. I'd leap at a chance to make that trade, especially for Oakland.

Well, actually I'd probably um and ah a lot and try and squeeze a little more out of them. But then I'd leap at it.

There's no way in hell the Bucs offered that kind of deal... unfortunately.
 
I think its a no brainer Raiders will get Culpepper, dumb move by Miami for not trying to get SOMETHING for him. I'm sure the Raiders would've parted with a 3rd or possibly even 2nd round pick.

If the Raiders can get Culpepper and he shows flashes of the pre LOLpepper Daunte, they already have a playoff calibur defense.

he's on cbs. sterling sharpe is on nbc. I thought Sterling wasn't bad. At least he was coherent. Don't know if he was replaced by Olberman or not.

Wouldn't Olberman and Costas basically do the same thing? How is that going to work out?

yeah sterling was pretty funny. if anything they should have gotten rid of bettis.
 
Joe Thomas turning down invite to go to Draft in NY, every year on draft day he and his dad go fishing.

I like it, he's not just focused on the fame and money, good stuff!
 
So who does everyone want to take draft day?

My top 3 I'd like to see in san fran.

1. Patrick Willis: Hard worker, great speed, great instincts, will final piece to a young LB core that could be the core of our D for the next 8 or so years.

2.Jamaal Anderson: Can line up multiple positions, amazing athelete for his size. Reminds me a lot of Richard Seymour.

3.Robert Meachem: Outside of CJ he is my favorite WR in the draft. Almost 6'3 over 200 pounds and still runs in the 4.3 range. Good route runner, with his frame he could get bigger and not lose any speed..He is going to be a beast.
