soulja looks like the hawks signed brandon green he any good?

another rams DE? :lol

he wasn't anything really special, but i liked the guy. he's a diabetic, so hes got some athletic limitations. but he made a couple nice plays here and there, he's good depth. more of a situational pass rusher than anything.

Hey kara...how's it feel to be potentially dependent on the Trent Green trade to determine your draft pick? I'll bet that burns a little.

All this could have been avoided if you'd let Green or Huard become Rich Gannon 2.0!

Falcons owner demanding that the team does what it takes to land CJ...

http://sportsillustrated.cnn.com/2007/writers/don_banks/04/25/trades/index.html

While everyone has focused on No. 4 Tampa Bay as the most likely trading partner for No. 2 Detroit in the Calvin Johnson Sweepstakes, it's the No. 8 Falcons who might truly be in the driver's seat. Sources say Falcons owner Arthur Blank has pretty much ordered Atlanta general manager Rich McKay to do everything he can to put the team into position to land Johnson at No. 2.

Blank wants Johnson for a couple of reasons. First, Johnson played at Georgia Tech and would help sell tickets to disillusioned Falcons fans who have endured two non-playoff seasons after Atlanta went to the NFC title game in 2004. Second, the Falcons still have their long-standing need of a reliable big-play receiver for quarterback to play pitch and catch with.

With seven picks in the first four rounds (including two second-rounders and three in the fourth), Atlanta definitely has the ammo to make the deal with Detroit. The Falcons could send the Lions their picks at 8, 39 and 44 for the No. 2 spot, and still have a third-rounder and three fourth-rounders to fill other needs.

The Lions are known to covet middle linebacker Patrick Willis of Mississippi and would be perfectly situated at No. 8 to select him. Picking up at least two extra second-rounders in the process would meet Matt Millen's goal of turning the No. 2 slot into a first-day package of picks. Detroit is likely to draft a quarterback with its own second-round pick at No. 34. Stanford's Trent Edwards remains slightly favored over Michigan State's Drew Stanton.

Its would be funny to see the Falcons 'Ditka' away their entire draft for Calvin Johson.. But I really don't want to see CJ wasted by playing with that shitfest that is Mike Vick.. Then again, a guy who is 6'5 and has a 42' vertical may have the tools to make it impossible for Vick to overthrow him..

I find it funny that Blank is coming out in support of CJ here, because the owner obviously knows what's best for the team!

whatever happened to rich gannon... he fell off the face of the earth... maybe I should read about it.

He felt it was a good idea to go diving headfirst into Derrick Brooks.

It wasnt a very good idea.

He calls some games for CBS now

Thursday, April 26

The Indianapolis Colts opted not to match the four-year, $15.7 million offer sheet that restricted free-agent cornerback Jason David signed last week with the New Orleans Saints. The Saints now get David and the Colts get one of New Orleans' three fourth-round picks.

I like it, it allows the Saints to take BPA in the draft instead of reaching for a cb in the 1st.

Yeah another Rams DE. At least we got him for cheap though.
Thanks for the info.

Vick's the sort of guy who always rises to a challenge.

I agree

The investigation into activities at a palatial home owned by NFL quarterback Michael Vick deepened Thursday after investigators found substantial evidence that several dogs kept on the property were being used for fighting.

Animal control officer told WAVY News that they found 70 dogs on the property. Most of the animals are pitbulls. Some had injuries and scars. Many were malnourished.

Amidst the evidence found was something called a "rape stand"; a device used to tether a female dog so male dogs can have easy access to the female for breeding.

A State Police spokesperson confirmed that the department was working with a regional drug task force. They searched the property looking for evidence and a person. The spokesperson would not tell WAVY News what the evidence is that they were searching for or who the person is.

Investigators search property owned by NFL star Michael Vick

A search warrant has been issued for a property in Surry County owned by NFL star Michael Vick.

Vick does not live at the home. It is inhabited by Vick's nephew. Police said Vick does not spend much time on the property.

The search warrant was granted by the Surry County Circuit Court. A state task force went to the property searching for a person that they believed may be on the property, but the person was not Vick. Investigators would not reveal the name of the person they were searching for.

While investigators were at the property, they discovered three buildings behind the home that housed several barking dogs.

"When they had a chance to go to the site, they discovered animal neglect," Surry County Administrator Tyrone Franklin.

Franklin said that the dogs appeared to be hungry and forgotten.

Both state and county investigators were searching the property Wednesday afternoon. Several animal control trucks were also on the scene and dog barking was audible.

No further information about the warrant has been released at this time. More information will be available after the investigation is complete.

"Early reports indicate that Vick was allegedly running a dog-fighting and cockfighting operation from the back of the home. The Virginia Animal Fighting Taskforce was on the scene. Authorities report that Vick had been under investigation for several years for illegal animal fighting."

Also, SI is reporting that Adrian Peterson re-injured his collarbone and will possibly be out until the start of the season.

How the hell did that happen?! At first I thought he was just a football clone of Wade (plz dun ban :D ), but now he's starting to look like a juiced up version of Deshaun Foster.

I meant to say this earlier, but I'm definitely with you on drafting CJ #1.

We know we're stuck with Brady Maxwell :(

Ugh, there goes any chance of the Browns drafting him. Looks like it's going to be a Russell or Quinn future for the Browns.

Just heard this too. I was a little concerned about our low level of offseason moves at the beginning, but looking at it now I think we have done a great job. We kept all the necissary players, upgraded in the positions we needed too and we did it without spending crazy money. If we manage a good draft this weekend I think were easilly looking at another strong push this year.

I hate PETA so much that I'm planning on hosting pitbull fights in my back yard, with the loser going directly on the BBQ. Please RSVP by tommorrow night.

Mock that would make me the happiest:

1. Jamaal Anderson, DE, Texas
1.a(after trading back into the first round) Robert Meachem, WR, Tennessee
3.Michael Bush, HB, Louisville
4a.Paul Solai, NT, Utah
4b Mario Henderson, OT, FSU!
5. Johnathan Wade, CB, Tennessee
6.Kyle Shotwell, LB, Cal-Poly
7.Roy Hall, WR, Ohio St.

More realistic mock:(first three rounds).

1.Patrick Willis, LB, Ole Miss
2.Steve Smith, WR, USC
3.Demarcus Tyler, DT, NC State
3b. Ryan Harris, OT, Notre Dame

I want the Panthers to either pick up LaRon Landry, Patrick Willis, or Jamaal Anderson (in that order). Seeing as I doubt either one will be on the board come pick 14, I wouldn't mind the Panthers trading down and grabbing a 2nd/3rd rounder to take Nelson, Griffin, Olsen, or Ginn around the ~20 range. Right now, about the only trade I'm willing to consider with Jenkins is our 14th and Jenkins for the Skins 6th so that we're assured of getting Landry. Jay Glazer has already reported that Jenkins won't be moved unless it's for a first round pick.

Scout.com reporting Packers have offered their first and fourth round picks for LJ...
Oh jesus, I hope not. Trade some picks to move up for Peterson or just draft Lynch. The o-line is young and fairly talented. Don't trade away our first rounder on a veteran running back. Please.

Bengals | Detmer visits team
Thu, 26 Apr 2007 21:45:30 -0700

Geoff Hobson, of Bengals.com, reports free-agent QB Koy Detmer's (Eagles) agent has confirmed his client's visit to the Cincinnati Bengals Thursday, April 26. His agent, Joby Branion, said he had yet to begin negotiations with the team.

How would S.F. get back into the 1st round while also gaining another 4th? Does S.F. have two 4th rounders currently?

methodman said:
Yes. We have a 1, 2, 3, 3, 4, 4, 4, 5, 6.

Yup! and we actually have one for 4th rounder in addition to that. Our own 4th, one from washington for B-Lloyd, one from NYJ for Barlow, and one comp. 4th round pick.

We coudl easily get another 1st round pick by trading our 2nd, 3rd, and one of our 4ths maybe even a 5th instead.

My wish list for what the Browns do at #3.

1. Peterson
2. Thomas
3. Johnson
4. Russel
5. Quinn
6. Trade down and take either Okoye or Willis and take a RB in the 3 round like Pittman or Bush.

Early Rumor is that Texans and Broncos have reached an early agreement to swap first round picks, and are trying to iron out the details.

****ING BRONCOS! The two players they're targeting are the two players I want most, Anderson and Willis. The bastards try to jump us laster year for The Duke but luckily Green Bay wasn't having any of it. GET YOUR OWN PROSPECTS PONIES!
