Vick and Dunn looked like complete shit. The Saints D ain't this good...

Saint's probably just gave every team on the Falcon's schedule a "How to beat Vick" book.

It would be pretty sweet if the Saints got a freaking marching band to play their music, like in college. That would be cool.

In simpler times past I would make a snarky comment about a college football team being better than the Saints. But in these troubling times of new the Saints are 3-0. THREE AND OH.

Michigan State could have beaten Atlanta tonight:lol :lol

You mean the "play first game back home after a natural disaster on crappy turf" gameplan? Yeah that one rocks. Hard to implement though!

Oh lord, from the Falcons messageboard:

The NFL Put 15 million dollars into the reopening of the Superdome !!! I am 100% sure now that the Falcons were read a scipt tonight in the locker room. They were told how to play. They were told to lay down and let the Saints win the home game for reasons I cannot go into detail on right now but rest assured the Falcons layed down in this game. They made a minor effort late in the game but it far to late to come back after laying down in the lst half and 3rd Q.

The Falcons played slow and looked Slow, It was not JET LAG as the Falcons arrived Saturday and had plenty of rest. In reality the Falcons are one of the fastest teams in the league both on Offense and Defense. But Tonight Even Michael Vick looked Slow !!!!!!!!

Vick decided to break loose for one good run far too late in the game for it to matter but when in did matter and when it could have crushed the Saints hapless defense Vick decided to be the Pocket Passer version again !!!!

There were questionable calls and flags picked up and recievers knocked down before the ball arrived and CRUMPLER DROPPED a wide open pass in the endzone, When is the last time that happened !!!!! CRUMPLER proceeded to drop more passes in this game tonight then he did all last season !!!!

The Falcons must have agreed to lay down figuring that by the end of the season it will all even out and they will still be on top but HELL with NEW ORLEANS !!!!

NO MORE OF THIS FEEL SORRY CRAP ABOUT HURRICANE KATRINA CRAP !!!! GET OVER IT. NOBODY FEELS SORRY FOR THE DAMN NEW ORLEANS SAINTS !!!

CHALK THIS ONE UP TO THE MONEY MACHINE KNOWN AS THE NFL !!!!!

I'm sure the residents of New Orleans thank you for ensuring that the rebuilt Saints have a rock-solid D this year.

Looks like I missed a good Saints performance. Just woke up, and I guess the Falcons got beat. Well I'll be. Cursed by my own hubris. I won't be ****ing with karma anymore. :? PEACE.

You know what, my saints have stopped the running game every game thus far and our undefeated! Only one TD in three games against us all season so please stop. Our team has its holes but you know what they play with heart and discipline and like Sean payton said to the team, just like the 2004 or 02 or whatever it was nba olympic basketball team, all the talent in the world doesn't guarantee you a win. The team with the heart drive and discipline with a decent amount of talent can go very far. and beat a team lacking in one of those areas.

also people talking about the game being rigged sh%t need to stop, and quit looking for excuses.

They'll never match the Raider Nation. The fact that the Raiders have any fans left after their choke in the Superbowl and consecutive sucking these past 3 years is proof :D

Is everyone really rooting for the Saints? I'm not... are you? Yeah, Katrina was bad, but this shit has gone way to far tonight. Plus Falcons cant even cheat to get a catch.

I rooted for them only because I can't stand watching Vick at QB I realized tonight. I don't care what anyone says, the man is not "exciting" as advertised. He can't throw. The Falcons are almost in a bind given his popularity. You can't give another QB a shot, and yet it's questionable if Vick can take the team where they need to go. He's a heck of an athlete but he's got none of the mentality of a QB.

If a team can stop the run, the Falcons are basically QB-less. Completely handicapped. By the end the receivers were giving up on routes and everything due to his lack of accuracy. The team seriously needs to start thinking about grabbing a QB in next year's draft or an offseason 2nd option. Obviously this year they're committed to him but how many more years do you give a guy if he has another poor year in completion percentage? Like Tony said, you can't go 8/25 and expect to win unless your going to run for 300.

I am not saying dedication wise cause lord knows we have a lot, probably too many fair weather fans. Just the ones that are consistent are the best and coolest people i have meet that are football fans, genuinely most are pretty good guys and girls, much more then the Bronco fans(my other team) that just want another Elway all the time and rip the team apart if they don't win the superbowl.

I think they are stuck with him though, I think they signed like a 100 million dollar contract or something ridiculous. I know he is the highest paid QB now though. Hey its great for my saints though we took away their only weopons and now gave every team a blueprint to stop them. Can't wait to stomp them next time

10-year $130 million for Vick.

7-year $98 million for Manning.

Manning paid slightly more per year, but yeah, the Falcons aren't getting away from Vick any time soon.

Yes they can, this ain't the Major Leagues Baseball.

Salary wise they can, but not without totally destroying their fanbase. Their income is meager enough as is, take out their star player and it's nothing. If they trade or cut Vick they'd be in LA within two years' time.

Ah, I see.

Whoddathunk that David Carr would have the best QB rating so far...if only he had a running game to compliment him...or they could have at least used some draft picks to help their defense.

I have nothing against the Saints since they left the NFC west, and Reggie is my boy..But I sort of wish they would have gotten beat 45-3...Atleast that way I wouldn't have to listen to ESPN gush over them for the next friggin week.gah!

trust me after tonight they will be back to bashing the saints and making excuses for their wins, As a saints fan we have no friends on any of their shows except (steve young) they all collabrate to bash our success when we actually have some. They already tried damage controlling for the falcons during the half saying, well the turf is new and vick can't run, and the emotions and blah blahblah. They will focus on the saints for a day then its on to next weeks game because like the nfl they are all about the money and ratings.

No, I wanted it. I figured I might as well since it's football season and I found a pic with the same pose as my previous avatar.

Steve Young's a moron calling them one of the leagues top talented teams. He said the same of Washington. He's very much stuck in early 90's football thinking 4 good to great players makes a team. They were underrated talent wise, and I called the win against Atlanta as well as their previous 2. That said, they've still have a ways to go before I call them top 5 talented teams in the league. No disrespect to Saints fans because you guys are good and have been this whole season. They have balance, and Brees was a huge pick up for this team in securing that balance.

I have no problem with calling them good. I have a problem with overzealous guys like Young and the transparent opinions of ESPN in general like Nameless - who completely skip to their next claim when they're wrong on a previous one. And that also said, i don't wish they lost 45-3, because we'd have to hear about more Atlanta and more Vick who've already gotten a mass of attention to start. Let the Saints enjoy it instead.

Well, yeah, there's that. There's also the whole thing where you play the run and dare him to beat you with the pass. I'm thinking any team out there will take that bet.

Havent you learned they talk out of their asses. I saw that Steven Smith apologized to all Eagles fans just a week after calling our team crap and saying the Giants were the class of the NFC East. All they do is jump from bandwagon to bandwagon without thinking.

Damn it!
Deuce was on his way to the field on that 3rd and goal as the 3rd down back, but they called him back to give Bush a second chance at his first TD. PWNT!

I got away with one leaving out Houshmandzadeh and Jennings...thought I was done for!

Thanks, Brett Favre and the Lions D! <3

Yep, pretty much. Kinda lame they all get the title of "analyst" when there's about 3 or so who deserve it. Radio's so much better for actual smart discussion.

Speaking of which, the radio coverage of local games we get here actually discusses football concepts like routes and coverages rather than splooging how RBs are great because of their legs, or just a few hours ago... how some WR or DB was great because he caught with his hands

*sigh* We lose one ****ing game and every one thinks the sky is falling on our heads. NO came out like a team possessed and we came out flat as hell. The blocked punt followed by Crumpler dropping not one but TWO TD passes absolutely killed any momentum we could have regained. Vick isn't to completely blame for our offensive failures either. Dropped passes, blown blocking assignments, horrible blitz pickups, bad throws, and absolutely no running lanes for Dunn, Norwood, or Vick. Just a shitty performance all the way around for the offense.

Our defense performed decently under the circumstances. Allowed only one TD and 3 FGs even though they were on the field for most of the game. NO only scored 3 in the second half. The only real negative I saw from a defensive standpoint was that there wasn't enough pressure on Brees. It'll be good to get Abraham back.

Hopefully he'll back this week, in which case, I feel sorry for the Cards. Specifically for the rookie, Matt Leinart.

Exactly. Of course on GAF if you don't put the blame soley on Vick then you are considered an apologist. The offense as a whole including Vick was terrible last night. You also can't take away from how disciplined the Saints D played. They played a damn near perfect game.

Also, so first it was Tampa that had the blueprint to stopping Vick, and now it's the Saints? Yeah right.

They should bring back Jaws and Vermeil!

These jokes will seriously never get old. :lol Oh, and I like how even though Kurt Warner has thrown for nearly 800 yards and has 5 TD's, he's being benched for being ineffective. Sure, he's had 6 turnovers overall... but uhh, it could be a lot worse. I think Leinart is gonna get killed when he starts.

Vick also had a $35 million signing bonus.

Aren't bonuses counted against the cap if the player doesn't play for that team? Or is that only if that team cuts the player?

And LOL at your comment about the Falcons fan base dying if Vick is let go. This city has always followed the winner. We don't care who's leading the charge just as long as someone actually is leading.
