I was frustrated when we traded Grabovski...we didn't let enough chances for the kid IMO. All this talk about "letting young players develop"...more like letting them rot in the AHL.

You know what's even funnier than this whole 3rd liner discussion? That you guys are getting so freaking excited about a player we didn't want on the team. Do you hear anyone getting excited about Latendresse anymore? I mean, maybe if you had ANY player in the lines of Koivu, Tanguay, Kovalev, Sergei Kostitsyn, Andrei Kostitsyn, Tomas Plekanec or even Robert fucking Lang and Christopher Higgins, let alone our freakin top-5-of-league duo of Markov and Komisarek on your team, you wouldn't care too much about a speedy midget who can't stand on his skates when there's a 20mph wind blowing.

But then again, you root for the Leafs! :lol

UFAs :

Saku Koivu (keep one)
Alex Kovalev (keep one)
Steve Begin (let go, replace with youngster)
Tom Kostopolos (let go, replace with youngster)
Francis Boullon (depends on salary)
Matthieu Dandenault (let go, replace with youngster)
Mike Komisarek (definite keep)
Alex Tanguay (definite keep)
Robert Lang (replace with youngster)

There are a couple of RFAs we'll have to sign as well, like Plekanec, but I think next year will actually be a good year to let go of all this dead wood we're still carrying and replace it with young guys. We still have one of the deepest farm in the league, especially on defense with McDonagh, Fisher and Weber, and have a couple of great kids as well up front like Pacioretty. We have a great young team, and I think your argument is pretty much moot. The core of our team is rather young, and the old guys are almost all easily replaceable. Hell, Kovalev hasn't even been good since the start of the season, and we still have one of the best starts in the league.

In theory it's a good thing for a team who is going for a cup run, as the belief is a UFA will play harder so that their next contract is better than the last. Laugh all you want, but the habs goal is the stanley cup this year, they believe they can do, and I agree /bias

Guess the season will be an outright disaster when you get nowhere near a Cup. You Hab fans are all high and mighty now with your good start, wait until you hit a tailspin, and then get smoked in the playoffs. I'll be the first one here laughing my ass off when reality hits you cold and hard in the face like a frozen fish. :lol

This is the night. I can feel it. Martin St. Louis, Patrick Elias, and Keitch Tkachuk are going to rock my pool. Make it happen! I'll be watching the Devils and Lightning squaring off.

P.S. I'm really interested to see how the Pens play tomorrow night. Hrm.
 
Woo! Elias with 1G 1A, and St. Louis with 1G. If Tkachuk scores tonight, I'm golden! Currently 3rd in my yahoo pool, about 150 points behind the leader, but gaining ground steadily. I was 200 points behind about 4 days ago. Slow and steady...

It is good to see that even if the Leafs aren't tanking for Tavares, Tavares is tanking for the Leafs. Keep it up John, get down to 3 or 4 and we got a shot.

The Ducks are on FIRE. Getzlaf, despite going bald, is an amazing player.
It's hilarious how little Morrison is contributing down there though.

Anyway, boo Oilers.
Entertaining stuff though.
 
i'm probably in the minority here but i find roto to be pretty boring now. i did h2h last year and i just get into it much more when it's a weekly matchup...every thing your players do seems that much more important. oh well.

I might have to re-evaluate my mancrush on Getzy if he goes all bald. Unless he has the guts to shave it all off.

Iggy still has my love though, although dude isn't putting up goals as expected.

So will this be the third straight for the leafs? :lol

Oh no! I can't even get NHL.com radio to work! *starts hyperventilating* EDIT: Phew...it's working now. At least I can listen to it. Guess I'll watch Canes and Caps while listening to the Pens/Oilers.

Wicked goal by Satan, and Mad Max with a neat SH rebound off of Sid's hard work. Pens are looking on fire so far. Or...the Oilers also suck?

Whoa. Pens dominated on faceoffs in the first. I hardly ever get to say that. They won by a 12-2 margin.

Anyway, Pens should still win this...I hope. *sigh* Don't do this to me, guys. Please?
 
Im pretty sure the oil will lose this one... i just wish they make use of their losses by REALLY looking bad. Cmon pens score 5 more goals fast.
 
Well, at least we got the win, ugly as it was. Ugh. This team is gross right now. We're on the most unconvincing and brutal 2 game winning streak I've seen in quite some time.
